  1. So the tracking for the G2 is mainly focused on red wavelength? Good to know :). Yeah having a few things hanging on the walls creating trackable shapes is good for sure :).
  2. G2 for sure. You'll run it just fine. Only pointer really is make sure you have enough light in the room for the tracking... Doesn't need to be like 6 60W lights or anything crazy.. just can't be super dark :).
  3. You mean in the OpenXR toolkit menu? I don't think it works there... You just need the keys.
  4. A 32GB static page file??? I just let windows manage mine but keep it in the right place.
  5. Oh... I thought you were suggesting the settings from your screen shot :). My bad
  6. I'd be fine with just an available or not in the ME and addable or not via the re-arm tool based on ME settings and current mission supply availability. Just like any other weapon... as far as time taken to equip/unequip... I'd say make it instant because ultimately "IRL" it would be added or not based on the mission and would already be there. This just isn't "IRL"... concessions need to be made. Actually... I'll be fine with however ED decide to do it :). I'm not making demands
  7. "the high set tail rotor creates a massive rotational force around the low slung tail boom" Not quite. Don't get me wrong... I'm not saying it creates no roll force. It creates a force that causes the airframe to rotate around the CM of the whole airframe and is affected appropriately by the fairly significant gyroscopes both in and on the whole package. It does not attempt to rotate around the tail boom itself. Forces don't react like that unless you build the tailboom out of wet noodles, but then you effectively just have two objects with their own CM's and we're well beyond the point now. The tailboom may indeed twist a small bit... but that's not because the tail rotor imparts a force that rotates "around it". It imparts a force in a direction and the reacted motion is defined by the forces relative location compared to the CM. It will produce yaw force relative to the tail rotor's distance from the CM, and roll force relative to the tail rotor's height from the CM... The shape and location of the tail boom have nothing to do with this aside from that they'll slightly change the location of the CM.
  8. I think we should just remove all the UK liveries for Trooper... Ban them. Expressly forbidden. Put them right next to the "cheat" category because clearly anyone wanting to use UK based liveries are just one step away from also messing with their files to add power as well so also ban the users too. Thank you drive through.
  9. Didn't we decide that all these settings have no effect or only negative effect (pre-render to 4) aside from "Prefer max performance" and maybe MFAA?
  10. Thank you to whomever did that
  11. There are a few reasons for micro stutters... Largely because people call different things "micro-stutters" :). If they are low frequency (good and smooth for a couple seconds, then a hitch... repeating) then I would look into the USB hot swap setting... If they are more frequent low framerate style that's a bit more complex and very much depends on what you're seeing and when as well as your own perceptions in VR. I also think they've recently brought the bug back that tanks performance in a few ways after you open the F10 map. I'd say if you're already running a 3090 then look into what may be causing those micro-stutters (as well as defining exactly what you're calling micro-stutters) while you wait for the 5900x3D... But... I think it will be a couple months or so for the 5900...
  12. Depends on the GPU you're running mostly... As well as where the 5800x3D would land you regarding CPU frametimes. No need to have 80FPS frametimes vs. 75... When neither are 90... BUT... you'll not know where you're at until you throw one in your system and just see for yourself. One more thing... I seem to recall in the article I read that the 5900x3D is RUMORED have even more L3 cache...
  13. Yeah there is a way to adjust that mask but I don't recall how as I've not needed to do it myself either. I would search this forum for something like "VR Mask edit" or something like that. You'll find it. Someone wrote a how-to as I recall.
  14. I agree Hiob... not worth banging heads over. You're right :).
  15. After racing the stang for a while I've just grown accustomed to manually running the coolant rad and I leave the oil rad open.
  16. Same... I don't think they've deployed the BFM updates yet but I haven't tested for a "stealthy" deployment either :). I've been doing PVP for now... Mostly the F86 in the cold war server.
  17. You mean regarding a hardware upgrade or relating to impactful graphics settings?
  18. Absolutely not. Telling someone how to feel is a LONG ways off from explaining why I think their point of view is less than justifiable. I'm not telling anyone what to feel or lecturing... Look at all the question marks in my post. I asked a bunch of questions to elicit thought. VERY different from a lecture friend :). I'll be the first to give the devs crap when they need it but I'll also give the rest of the community crap when I see a post that clearly indicates they've got an unrealistic and/or entitled approach to a specific subject and is also an undeserved punch in the gut to the devs. Basically... I'll say what I want. I'm not on the dev's side or the community's side... I'd rather there not even be sides ;). If you don't like it... Feel free to say so Also... I think the ONLY objective thing I said in the whole post was "you're not paying attention"... And based on the post I think that's not incorrect. It's also fine :). I don't mind really. The entire rest of my post was simply me trying to point out a different point of view using a few facts and a few (admittedly extreme) hypothetical examples. I see no problem with that... I think it gets the point across.
  19. Sweet... just picked up a 3080 and will be grabbing a 5900x3d as well
  20. "Don't get too wrapped up in precise numbers and procedures to the exclusion of flying the aircraft." That...
  21. Did you delete the d3dfile? you say a manual install... I'm pretty sure that's not needed any more?
  22. M1Combat

    OpenXR

Yep... pure clickbait bullsh** vid... That dude has caused a TON of problems for the people who actually BUILT this tool by being a complete effing idiot looking for nothing more than add revenue. It's much like a reporter that follows around ambulances to write shock stories.
  23. It will have new features too.
