Of course not... but the comment was about whether or not you can shoot stuff at night with a KA50... Where did the A2A come from? and yeah... I've tried it too... It doesn't work great but it's completely beside my point. I mean... I specifically said "As long as the target doesn't move". I was talking about a KA-52 data linking a target to a KA-50 at night, the KA-50 pointing at that target and killing it without ever actually seeing it.
-
Have you flown the KA50? It has a thing called "Data Link". In case you're worried about a lock with no contrast (or target ID in DCS)... You can hold the lock button and force the laser into high power mode whether it's locked or not. Then fire. The vikhr will ride the beam into the target as long as the target doesn't move... or you can move the beam manually if you can see the target and can't get a lock.

Я думаю, что KA-50ED отлично подойдет для нашей новой версии.
-
Ok... Here is the solution to all this... We should get a "#42" KA-50 that has the best of life, the universe and everything that all KA50's had in it. With at LEAST 3 wing pylons. On each wing of course...
-
They've said many times it's not a question of if but of when... They'll get to it.
-
It's all for naught when the magnetic stuff gets mature. Also... X65F until then.
-
"Yes our VR headsets are the Hololens." No they aren't.
-
"As well that possibility too to have just the wings upgraded with the one that has third pylon is possibility." Which one did they do that to?
-
It was Sierra's comment about centering the dot to take the shot :)… We know that. The problem is the dot seems wroing...

I love when there's a meaningful conversation going on and someone blasts in with a response based on the first eleven or so letters of the thread title :)

"Could it be that ED tweaked all quality related parameters beyond the boundaries" I would word it differently myself... I'd say they placed boundaries in a way that would keep people from getting into too much trouble with trying to set things at the max... but anyone that's determined still has the ability... So... I wouldn't say they went "beyond the boundaries"... they just used different ways to change their settings.

I've downed two Huey's who had the jump on me in one fight. I did get a little lucky in that I had a little bit of elevation trying to peek over a ridge from about 500yards from the ridge so I could chop the lift, drop to gain speed and circle around to get the kills. Took some damage in their first burst but... won in the end :). Get yourself a VR headset for head tracking and use the cannon :).

It has to be taken on a case by case by developer basis... I'm sure re-working the game engine to support MT the way it needs to be done would be time consuming etc... But only ED can make the decision whether it's worth it. They decided that map functionality is more important this go around with 2.2/5 and I can't say as I disagree with them completely... Even though ED eats my whole CPU :).
-
Uh oh... Delete that pic :)… Quick... We don't want them removing the ability to put the 13's on the inner pylons... Hurry up... WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!???!!!

My most expensive module by far... feeling bad..
M1Combat replied to Koriel's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Then I can't help you :). But I'll try. It has to do with relative cost of entertainment. Video games are super cheap relative to other forms of entertainment. Including the BS. They're even cheap relative to the cost of non-entertainment things that are also not necessary. For example I just spent 6X the cost of a video game on window tint on Wednesday. Man... I remember when games cost $49.99, then $59.99... People were so pissed. Now... Look what we actually GET for a price that hasn't even come CLOSE to keeping up with inflation. Seriously... For the amount of hours people put into simulators and how immersive they are... You can't really find much that's less expensive and anywhere NEAR as fun... -
My most expensive module by far... feeling bad..
M1Combat replied to Koriel's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
This is a great thread. I've got a LOT of hours in the BS and I'd happily pay whatever you like for the upgrade. Please just keep the BS up to date. People are sitting here crying about paying a few dollars for some fun... I've got a MOTORCYCLE that's on it's 29th set of tires folks... You have any idea what that costs? I know people who pay that much for golf balls over a weekend LOL :)… And the clubs they use? Right... Cheap fun right here folks :). Oh and... When the Apache and/or Cobra gets here... DOUBLE IT! -
Look I hear you... They should be fixed. I agree. I also think that it was only broken for me for about 30 seconds. Not because I installed a Mod... but because when I saw what they were doing I flipped the switch in my head and just started getting stuff killed. I was and still am sure that ED will fix them. If you can't wait... go get a mod. It's that easy. No... I don't think that people should "never" mention the crap that's broken. That would be dumb. But there's no sense in harping on it for two years once ED said a LONG time ago that they were going to fix them. Help the new folks, understand they'll be fixed, be patient, be cool... That's all I'm saying. Put the whole thing in context. This isn't AC7 here... It's a SMALL team making modules that are way more complicated and yeah... to be honest it's likely that they don't have the best underlying infrastructure for what they're doing... but they have what they have and they're doing really cool things with it. Let's try to stick with encouragement instead of bitching... Ultimately... You get to say the same thing... One just makes them work better and faster and the other doesn't :). You mean the Russian NV use as Bragging??? Didn't mean it that way :)… I had a buddy who had one and we used to strap it to a paintball gun when we played night games :). Was perfect for a paintball gun... that's about how far you could see with it IF wasn't already too dark out :)

Except the BlackShark… But it's even slower :)

Squad and TacView. Do all the training missions too.

"It's beyond preposterous at this point" LOL. It works fine. Just know that the lights are currently for the "off" setting... and when "on" the lights are off. Easy Peasy. Oh and be patient :). "The night vision lighting is equally busted and puts out less light than a tea light." LOL. Have you ever used Russian NV? I have. From about the same vintage as the BS too. I'd say the NV in the BS is WAY too good :). Maybe try using the ground following capabilities of the aircraft, then just use the regular Schkval cam to attack. Be careful. FYI... I'm not sure the Russians actually use the BS at night? If so... I think they've upgraded the NV since it was originally produced :). The Russian stuff was SUPER bad back then. SUPER bad.

Like the BlackShark? It's quite good... A little weak pointing to the left at short range but... other than that it has a hell of a cannon and certainly tracks your head.

X-55, X-56, X-65 question...
M1Combat replied to fitness88's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The DCS stuff is pretty top notch really... Pretty much the ONLY thing I'd ask for would be the ability to split an axis... So if I split the rudder axis I could assign a throttle pedal to the right rudder, and a clutch pedal to the left rudder. Right now I have to use a third party virtual device to combine the throttle and clutch pedal on my racing pedals to make a rudder axis. -
X-55, X-56, X-65 question...
M1Combat replied to fitness88's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The X65F is the best out of these and is the only one of the Saitek/Logitech sticks to buy as far as I can tell. Keep in mind that the 65F doesn't move like a regular stick. It senses force. Many people say it's too sensitive or that you need to have a dead-zone but that' just noob talk. Once you get them tuned to your preference they need no dead zone and the sensitivity is adjustable over a very wide range.
