  1. Why does everyone start asking a week ahead of time? Geez hold your horses. =P --gos
  2. Correct. Modifying existing files breaks IC. Making a new livery doesn't.
  3. The risk is somewhat shared. Each year our government has to re-approve the continued spending of money for N additional airframes. We can "save" a huge amount of that 1.x trillion by walking away, but then we're left with another short-run plane like the F-22 and we get to start looking at alternatives from scratch. Ultimately, the project is too large and complicated to expect Lockmart to take on all the risk of a missed schedule, since a single slip would essentially put them out of business and leave us with either no airplanes or being forced to nationalize their assets, which isn't very popular. IMO, it's just the state of the game these days. Those old days of 6-8 companies submitting bids and prototypes to build a 15% chunk of our forces are long over. --gos
  4. Total program costs don't really matter. From a per-fuselage perspective, it's already more cost effective than several competing airframes, while being more capable in a number of ways. True, but the US has been the world's de-facto police force since WW2 (which attitude was arguably started based on the Monroe Doctrine in 1823). In theory, the military has to plan for all possible future wars, they can't just plan based on who they happened to fight the last time. --gos
  5. It's also a good proxy for Arrow engine-out best glide too =P
  6. Posted version 0.51 which fixes the Creech runway identifier
  7. Thanks for the heads up, will take a look. Edit: looks like a typo in the runway name next to the ILS identifier. Will fix shortly.
  8. FYI, I just posted a new version 0.92 which fixes refueling probe labeling, the alpha/theta symbols, and a few lamps. The base textures were updated to RAZBAM's 1.5.7.7473.311 from open beta. Passes integrity check. See my sig for the discussion thread & download link in the user files area. --gos
  9. Posted version 0.92, linked from the first post in the downloads section. Resync with RAZBAM's base textures in 1.5.7.7473.311 open beta, which fixes the alpha/theta symbols, refueling probe light labels, and a few lamps.
  10. rawr, 'murica!
  11. It is, but he didn't ask permission. My license says not to redistribute.
  12. Ugh, quartermaster stole my work. =\
  13. I had a texture update in-progress that stalled. Will try to make time to update the mod this weekend. Note that the discussion thread for my english cockpit is linked in my sig. --gos
  14. rmin would probably be more accurate, since radius is usually written 'r' instead of 'R'
  15. Most fighters aren't FIKI either. =P
  16. Correct. If the automatic de-ice worked correctly and didn't lose too much power on the first engine, you engage the 2nd one manually.
  17. We have not yet gotten air-to-air radios to work with SSM. Key binding brings up the menu, you can change channels, but we cannot yet turn the radio on. Without working radios you cannot join with a refueling aircraft, and they won't extend the refueling probe. We haven't yet tried having a real module "bait" the S-3 to extend the drogue and let us sneak in behind it. That may work if the bait stays close enough, but I know the AI gets really picky. --gos
  18. I'm sure the team will internally discuss future plans after our original goal is achieved. --gos
  19. Community A-4E: June 2017 Update Community A-4E: June 2017 Update Mostly smaller changes and refinements this month, as we try to polish and finish various bits of our modeling so we can put those elements behind us. As such, most of this update will be pictures of elements that are recently unwrapped and textured. Canopy glass with some scratches: Internal canopy frame: Control stick, floor and pedals: Added a rework of the unwrap plus spec maps to our 150 gallon fuel tanks, which greatly improves them in the 2.x engine: New spec maps for the Mk-4 HIPEG gun pods and the SUU-7 cluster dispenser: On top of those visual elements, minor fixes include: Fix for shrike pylon attachment visibility UHF dial animation improvement HSI needle animation fix throttle click region improvement 150 gallon fuel tank alignment fix Fix morse code audio for TACAN navigation with the 2.x audio changes Enjoy, and hope everyone has a great holiday weekend! --gos
  20. We simply don't share updates mid-month. We do answer questions though. --gos
  21. Patches now come out on Wednesdays, but there's no guarantee every Wednesday will have a patch. Per a comment in another thread, this week's patch was apparently delayed.
  22. Just watch our main thread FAQ section in the 2nd post (linked in my .sig)... one of us will post it there.
  23. We currently have two aggressor liveries in our base texture package. At some point I'll post our official livery list. --gos PS: We already have a dedicated thread, no reason to use this one for discussion...
  24. We plan to share our template.
  25. You can copy data between members of your household, then just run an update/repair afterwords to double-check the contents. That might save on bandwidth.
