  1. On that note, I think it'd be easier for everyone if the Easy Communications behavior was to allow you to move the dials freely, but only force them into their new position once you actually go to communicate. This is how other aircraft work. The fact that they "stick" or "bounce back" to whatever your last frequency was is confusing.
  2. ugh, same time as the motogp livestream... can't watch both...
  3. oh haha, i misread it and thought it was saturday. sweet.
  4. You can use the one I created if you want to. Thread link in my sig. Version 0.86 is for stable/beta. For alpha you need the older 0.85. --gos
  5. How long until a rebroadcast is usually available? I missed it live.
  6. Even with the friction of the tires on the ground? With the huge tail and a centered rudder, I'd have expected the yaw moment to go to zero as soon as the rudder is centered. A yaw moment on the ground either means I'm skidding or my rudder is still deflected, no? Additionally, my max turn rate was perhaps 1-2 degrees per second. That shouldn't be enough momentum to require significant countering.
  7. So, after doing 15-20 takeoffs & landings with 1.5.3.52018.61 this morning, I think I've finally put my finger on why ground control is so difficult with the M-2000C and causing so many of us problems. There seems to be a moment or inertia to the rudder position either in the flight control system or in the physics calculations, that doesn't appear on the animated exterior model. When I'm rolling down the runway at about 100 kts, and give it some rudder input, the nose moves left or right as expected. However, if I closely watch the horizon, I notice that as soon as I release the rudder and let the rudder center itself, there's a yaw inertia to the plane that shouldn't be there at all. As soon as the rudder centers itself, the nose of the plane should fix in whichever direction it is pointing. When I look at the external model, the rudder is clearly centering quickly. However, I can see the plane continuing to turn for 2-3 more seconds after the rudder has been centered. I believe this behavior is likely incorrect. As soon as the forces on the rudder are centered, the yaw moment should immediately be centered too. Does anyone else "feel" this too? EDIT: In case anyone asks, I have nose wheel steering disabled. I am purely working on keeping the plane centered with the rudder during takeoff and landing.
  8. Yup, it's on purpose. Basically, the controls now glow in the dark when un-lit and in shadow. If you turn on the lights, the backlight will turn red.
  9. Don't believe so, it's truly a light helo. Per wikipedia, only 900kg difference between empty weight and gross weight.
  10. Do you have any timeline for merging the Matra and non-Matra missile definitions?
  11. Main download updated, and adds link back to older 0.85 for NTTR users.
  12. You need to be way more specific. Which skin are you installing? Where did you get it? Is it designed for JSGME? Does it use the 1.2 or 1.5 file layout? Which version of DCS are you trying to install the skin into? stable, beta or alpha?
  13. mostly true. Early access to the C-101 and the Hawk came with SFM, which is what the AI uses. Both are getting EFMs at some point, Hawk should be very soon.
  14. I know everyone's super excited, but there's just a half dozen of us or so ham-fisting our way through our first aircraft mod in our spare time on nights and weekends. With the hours I've put in so far relative to the visible progress (and I'm not even the modeler!), i'm ready for Leatherneck or Razbam or someone to launch their A-4 so that I can just throw money at them for a finished plane.
  15. Note that IRST can and will detect you when your radar is off, especially if the russian pilot knows where to look. A good pair of mk 1 eyeballs is also invaluable.
  16. This app from uboats should pull all the args you need: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1797654/
  17. Hopefully the Mi-24 body kit. :pilotfly:
  18. is it possible to add new aircraft models, so that our mod doesn't look like an A-10?
  19. Currently only available for team members. The release of the mod will release the source code, since we're using lua.
  20. btw, I was speaking to uboats, and he just updated his application to allow numeric sorting. =P Should make it easier to align to the argument list document.
  21. I see the same behavior in beta too. Note that when doing touch-n-go passes, I found that if you don't let the nosewheel touch the ground, the liftoff from just the mains is smooth like before. Something about the attitude the FBW thinks you're at, versus the actual attitude of the aircraft, would appear to not match. --gos
  22. Try uboats' argument extractor: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1797654/ --gos
  23. Procedure works for me. I noticed that all generators are now "on" by default during a cold start.
  24. holy crapola... 1GB for the paint kit edit: 2.1GB after unpacking I think browsing your template taxes my PC more than DCS does. The level of details is insane... photoshop is showing 3.5GB used.
