CPU runs +20° hotter in idle after update to 2.9.16.10523.
MarkP replied to Dmsea1's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I dont have issues, 13900k. 50°C in menu and 65°C in a freeflight. Mind you i have an undervoltage on my system but still -
Is it a bug or not? I dont think it is, i think it needs an overhaul. Do you fly helicopter? DO you like how accurate the AI is? I highly doubt it. Mind you i dont fly WW2 so i cant comment on the flak. But it happens with Jets also. How can an unguided AAA hit a Jet doing 500kts? Its just beyond me. i can uplaod it, just not sure if a 60min flight before i got sniped out of the sky is useful at all?

Hello, something need to happen with the Ground AI since its starting to spoil the fun especially when flying helicopters. Im in a campaign in a huey and there are 2 insurgents with AK47 on a bridge. While i am keeping my distance, doing 60kts circles - my door gunners kinda peppering them: Ground AI fire 3 shots which are just the perfect snipershots, my Tailrotor breaks, i crash. 60min mission over. Thats somewhat crazy

Hello, also got an issue that wolf1 does not take off (=stays hovered). I have the load, follow the railroad and then fly 155 as briefed until i am at the road, since i am not allow to cross it i follow it towards the bridge i inspected in miz1 and fly left, do all the cargo and stuff but wolf1 still not here. I checked F10 and there is still the command "fly 155 but dont cross the road and stay left". I tried it 3 times but its not working ;(

Migrate Squadron Server to Proxmox, best practise OS
MarkP replied to MarkP's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
i see. am trying the install right now. Im not that good with linux yet. Mostly doing terminal. Now have to deal with GUI and i want to get back to cli already ;_; -
hello, i noticed that since the last Patch, JDAMs disapper before impact. I noticed it yesterday on our squadron night when F16 dropped them so i tried it today again with 15E and they disapper. At trackfile at like 37:10 nullIn tacview you can see them disappear too If needed i can attach the track of yesterdays squadron mission but its a huge file and pretty late in the track. Just HMU if needed. server-20250221-185333.trk

Migrate Squadron Server to Proxmox, best practise OS
MarkP replied to MarkP's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
yea i got myself a RAM update to 32gb and our missions are not that complex. So i hope it will turn out. Question is if i should use windows server or try out the wine. @Actium what would you think, how much work is it? As i said i have lets say basic knowledge with linux so its no prob to install and manage stuff from the CLI, but i think i would try windows first if its too much to hassle with -
Terrain following radar constantly fly-up even with the switch flipped up?
MarkP replied to Herasteane's topic in F-15E
for me its still working. Try to get the jet a bit above the target altitude and then keep the paddle pressed for the override, flip the switch, move the plane in position and follow the marker already, paddle release and then follow the box a bit and after that you can engage the CPL. -

dont stress yourself. I think alot of dedicated hosters would love to host on linux obviously. For myself i am still debating on what to do with the hardware. -
Migrate Squadron Server to Proxmox, best practise OS
MarkP replied to MarkP's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
How much RAM is your server using? I was jsut checking, my DCS Server instance uses about 15gb and the Host itself Win 10 Pro so overall 28gb of RAM usage DCS is running on a machine at my work, i9 9900k, 64gb ram, 2080ti. Also i think i will disregard switching to the workstation with i9-10900k, 32gb ram and a RTX4000. This is all hosted at a smarthome, my current proxmox host is a minipc with i5-8500T 16gb ram and it uses 7w. The workstation with 10900k uses 50w on idle which is a bit hefty, im in germany so the difference is € per year is like 30€ to 170€. So might think about how i tackle this. Do you guys think the minipc i5-8500t could run the dedicated if i increase ram to 32gb? -
Migrate Squadron Server to Proxmox, best practise OS
MarkP replied to MarkP's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
thanks for the insight. I saw the docker post but figured that it might be a hassle to use it since you then also need a docker for SRS, LOTATC and so on. I actually never worked with Wine since all what i use on my homelab is linux (beside me gaming pc obv), but willing to give it a shot. -
Hello, for now i was / am running our squadron dedicated on a seperate machine. I got myself a workstation with a i9-10900k, 32gb ram and a RTX4000. I want to host some homelab stuff (mostly DMS, homeautomation, maaaybe AI) and ofc also host now the DCS on this. All will be on a Proxmox. Since there is no linux version for DCS dedicated i wanted to ask what you guys think would be the best OS for this. Thanks!

Hello, wanted to tell my story as well. I got it on release day, thinking i would not love it (i have nearly every module in DCS just to try it out so to say). But i was blown away by it. The Modul has so many cool little features, no other moule has like perma-bend wings, interfering radar channels Radar Scintillation, moving pilot body in VR (althoug that was added on some ED models as well) and so on and i loved that. Also its so easy to work with the TGP. In F16 i am always fighting the TGP, its not doing what i want it to do. Might be Piloterror for sure but still i constantly got hickups with it. In the 15e it just works. Also BVR its great. You can fly so high on full A/B all the time and toss a 120c in space nearly. I got a kill against a AI F16 from 55nm out So then the the disput happened and i refunded it but now after like a year or something i found myself kinda missing it. It was (and is) the most enjoyable plane in my whole collection. And last month i decided to buy it again. I dont regret it at all because i had the most fun in it out of all Modules. I hope that the dispute can be solved in a good way but yeah. Just wanna tell my my 2 cents
-
And here am i, missing the 15E so much that i serious consider to rebuy it. I think it was quite alright it its state when i refunded it. I can live with how it is.
-
ah ok. Then i try to find some keys i can use for this until then. Thanks

Hello, after the latest update, i cant find the Axis for the Antenna Elevation anymore. In the changelog it says: Inputs: Fixed Radar Antenna Elevation inputs and clickable But with that the Axis is gone. Only Axis is found was: [Simpit] Antenna Elevation (Switch) But this only let me slew the radar up, not down. Thanks

Flaps not working on multi-crew and multi-player environment
MarkP replied to NoGoodNews's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
make sure that teh WSO has the Battery override switch OFF. Happens to us yesterday as well. Forget to put it back to OFF position and with it ON (dont know if its a bug or as intended) the FLAPS wont move. -
never mind fingured it out I had the "mouse" category somehow disabled, right click on the category and enabling made it work again lol
-
Hey, since the F4 release i cant move my camera with the mouse when in F2 external view also the zoom with the mousewheel doesnt work anymore. I noticed that when im on the desktop (im in Vr otherwise), and press alt + c, the cursor goes hidden (as normal) but i cant move the camera and zoom then either. Both used to work before. Did i do something wrong? Its in every module.

[Suggestion] reduce number of built-in kneeboard pages
MarkP replied to Thamiel's topic in Bugs & Problems
I second this. I always need to scroll through the wall of pages which are not neccecary (for me) just to jump between the pages i need (esp waypoints) and the pages i inserted on my own like ATO document and mission details. -
Hi, on the Manual it says: In the lower position, NAV COMP, the no. 1 pointer indicates bearing to the navigation computer target coordinates, and the no. 2 pointer indicates magnetic ground track. We trtied it but the Thick needle (no. 1) points in our case always to the 12:00, even when turning and the small needle showed the bearing towards the target in entered in the WSO target controlpanel. So the thin needle (no. 2) is the one pointing towards teh bearing ot the navigation target coordinates. So either the plane needles are flipped or the manual is wrong (eitehr picture or text). null
