Yeah, same here, Tomcats never engaged or even got near, after announcing Joker. They told me to stand by and commit. But there was nothing to commit to. My wingman just ignored the whole thing and went RTB.

All things equal, agreed. But I'm talking about SP experience like the Horrido campaign here. Watching the whole numerically superior Anton flight dying to the scrambling Spitfires while being unable to down even one of them (I'm taking only my AI allies into account), with proper orders issued, seems to be broken. One of the AI Antons stalled so badly he flew backwards, tail first, to the ground. I've made a big mistake not saving the track... There seems to be more issues and changes (compared how the AI Antons flew couple weeks ago) than only the AI that come into play here. -
Could we kindly ask for some better quality standard skins for VFA-131, so that we don't have to rely on the custom made one's? :) They seemed lackluster from the beginning, especially the lack of the fuel tank inscription. There are a whole plenty of photos available, most of them showing this inscription. Like the one of Capt. K. It can and it will shoot it down. Happened to me today, several times. I tried launching it closer and with LOW FLT profile, but it wouldn't go lower than around 5000 ft and is still targeted. One of my SLAMs was also shot down by a Tunguska.

It should avoid turn fights, attempt BnZ and slashing attacks, expose the enemy sitting on his tail to wingman fire etc. Generally fighting more the way the Anton was supposed to be flown. -

Same happened to me just now, only on Nevada. Track file is too big (17 mb) and can't upload. I was dropping LGBs on Persian Gulf in SP with no issues. Multiplayer session on Nevada - game froze on GBU-12 launch. -

Thanks for your input guys, but what you're describing refers to 1v1 situations, not the problem mentioned in this thread. We're talking multiple Antons vs. multiple Spits situations, which happen in SP campaigns and missions. After first pass, none of the tactics you mentioned or showed above is viable anymore, as there will be another Spit(s) chasing after you. Any manouver which will make you slower than them and/or lets them approach in-range of their guns is game over for you. -

Exactly this, and that's what my biggest problem is right now. Even if you as a player try to fly the Anton as it is supposed to be flown against the Spits for ex. (BnZ, hit and run etc.), you are completely alone in this = after the first attack, succesful or not, there will always be some Spits chasing after you and not giving up. Meanwhile the rest of your Schwarm is being slaughtered in a pointless turn fight. Nobody is going to help you, no matter what orders you will issue to the AI (if they think, they are being engaged, they will just respond UNABLE). This kills any enjoyment I may have from an otherwise wondeful campaign like Horrido!, because all I can hope for, when the AI Spits arrive, is to try to hit some of them which do not happen to turn, and the moment I'll notice them engage the rest of my flight, to run home, or at least for so long, to lose the Spit sitting there on my tail... I don't even want to start with the other issues of AI Spits flight model, with them doing some strange vertical climb-hammerhead-like-while-hanging-on-the-prop-manouvers and amazing aim at longer distances. -
I don't know if that is how it is supposed to be for good or not, but as it is right now, any missions which include dogfighting in bigger groups (furballs) agaist Spits are unplayable. Ex. instant action mission (furball vs. Spitfires) ends up with all the Antons killed, for no losses for the Spits. Same goes for the campaign, the Antons are unable to kill anything, I just saw even one Anton fly backwards (yes! Tail first!) to the ground and crash. The result is me alone scoring a kill or two and then being overwhelmed, or just generally fighting alone against a swarm.

Just a quick copy-paste from the Bf-109 module manual. "The additional internal tank located behind the pilot’s seat can be used alternatively to store the MW 50 mixture, or conventional aviation fuel, in essence providing extra range at the expense of available extra power. The MW/Fuel Selector Handle is used to set the MW 50 tank status. Normally, it is set on the ground before the engine is started, according to the filled liquid, and left alone for the duration of the flight. Please note that incorrectly setting this switch can have CATASTROPHIC results, by either feeding the water-methanol mixture into the fuel lines, or spraying aviation fuel into the supercharger." -
Hey, I just flew a mission from Big Show C. (M.5) and flew for a while at 25,000+ with oxygen off. Is the hypoxia there for Spitfire or it's a bug?

Hey, thanks for your continuous effort of making DCS more interesting (I'm a big fan of your liveries). Now to the point: during mission 4 I was completely ignored by the "Hun". As it's a recon style mission, I didn't bother, quite the contrary, I assumed, it's good, he left me alone, as I can continue my mission. That's where the problem beginns. I realized something's wrong, because nothing happened, no further instructions. I started chasing a bandit for a short moment, but it wouldn't make sense - realistically I shouldn't make my stay on the other side of the Channel any longer than necessary. So I just continued a long, confusing flight along the old planned route. No calls from the Pipper, no instructions, nothing. I considered exiting but the mission is so long, I didn't want to lose the progress. In the end I just continued, thankfully. I just wanted to point out, this kind of situations are very frustrating. I didn't read the book, so I didn't know what "should" happen (I keep reading it after the mission). Similar things with triggers missing keep happening in many campaigns, so, slowly, the fear of missing triggers starts to kill the joy of experience. I'm not sure if it's a bug, but it for sure looks incomplete - there is no special fuel tank for VFA-131 livery, just a blank one, whereas the original squadron seems to be using the custom "Wildcats" fuel tank 90% of the time (also with the exact same livery). Is there any hope for any updates regarding the SPO-10 and missile performance this autumn/year?
