Agreed some missions tend to work better than others, 6 probably gave me the most trouble so far, but I'll count you as "pro-JTAC". I would appreciate any advice from someone who finished the campaign as well.
-
So right now ive been trying to keep to protocol and get my tasking from the JTAC units in the Red Flag campaign. Problem is due to the incredibly long time it takes to get a response back at every step I usually end up 15 min past my off time, all alone in the airspace, engaging targets that have already been destroyed by chevy flight (f-16s), with enemy air breathing down my neck because the Eagles have long since gone. Many missions end with me only firing a few mavs then jettisoning ordance to turn and burn out of the AO terrain making as much as possible. I know this is due to all of the other radio chatter, mostly from awacs, pushing my long-awaited response to the bottom of a very long list. So my question is, do you other drivers ignore the JTAC control completely and pursue your objectives as you see fit thereby kind-of defeating the purpose of the training, or do you do the same as me? I'm not trying to complain, I absolutely love this campaign, just wondering what others are doing.

Id suggest mapping a different button to the trigger's first stage. Also in the control's editor you can make any button a 'modifier' meaning if that button is held while another is pressed you get another function. Really helpful with the hog as there are so many HOTAS buttons. For example my boat switch is also my mic switch when the modifier button is held.

As it turns out it was there the entire time, I just had the same coordinates for the repeater and UHF status. Once I changed the repeater x/y it worked perfect. CHEERS!
-
Thanks I'll check after chores.
-
UHF_REPEAT_SCREEN but again don't lose flight time over it, I am just thrilled you were able to get the rest working for me
-
For aar I find it helpful to"walk" the throttles independent of each other. It seems easier to keep a constant speed with the tanker making smaller adjustments.
-
Just a follow-up, everything now works great except for the UHF repeater, I can live without it. Thanks again!

Might not want to rule out Saitek right away. Iv been using a used x-55 for over 80hrs now with no problems yet. (Knock on wood) Whatever you decide it definitely helps having 2 throttles for A-A refuel and emergency situations ie. Left engine fire, cut only left power. There are of course keyboard controls to do this but do you really want to be fumbling finding keys in that situation? Whatever you get you can always upgrade later if you like the sim (and you will)! Welcome by the way!

Thanks a bunch hansolo! This community refuses to let me down.

I'm having trouble exporting my RWR, CMSC, CMSP, Clock, and UHF Repeater viewports to my 2nd monitor. If anyone is using one of these on their own 2nd monitor could you please tell me what to call the viewports in the .lua. I think they might have changed since 1.2 when it was ED_A10C_RWR etc. A copy of someone's monitorsetup .lua would also be helpful to compare to. Thanks!!

I figured out how to get Loz A-10c profile to work in 2.0 as far as the switches/clickables go but am having a problem with my custom viewports. I copied over my monitor setup .lua from 1.2 and after deleting the "ED_A10C_" from all the viewports (ex ED_A10C_LEFT_MFCD changed to LEFT_MFCD) I have the left and right mfcd and the UHF freq status and UHF preset working and in the right position. The problem that the UHF repeater, CMSC, CMSP, and Clock are not in their correct position. They all show up but only in the top-right hand corner of my 2nd monitor overlapping one-another and my Rmfcd, and completely out of scale. The RWR doesn't show up at all. If anyone has a monitor .lua that uses these viewports could you please attach it so I can compare. Ill attach my monitorsetup .lua for review. All help is appreciated! PS screen 1 is 1920*1080 screen 2 to the right is 1440*900 _ = function(p) return p; end; name = _('A-10C 2.0'); Description = 'A-10C 2.0'; Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1920; height = 1080; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 1.7777778; } } GUI= { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1920; height = 1080; } UIMainView = GUI --////////////////////////////////////// -- Eagle Dynamics A-10C = --////////////////////////////////////// LEFT_MFCD = { x = 1966; y = 89; width = 335; height = 335; } RIGHT_MFCD = { x = 2970; y = 89; width = 335; height = 335; } CLOCK = { x = 2277; y = 619; width =93; height = 93; } RWR = { x = 2357; y = 106; width = 155; height = 160; } CMSP = { x = 2730; y = 145; width = 195; height = 50; } CMSC = { x = 2564; y = 106; width = 165; height = 35; } UHF_FREQUENCY_STATUS = { x = 2399; y = 423; width = 85; height = 22; } UHF_PRESET_CHANNEL = { x = 2480; y = 359; width = 22; height = 22; } UHF_REPEATER = { x = 2406; y = 523; width = 88; height = 20; }

Shortcut for exported viewport?
colyoap replied to colyoap's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks to you both, I ended up finding a program called Cursor Position from Mattlav software that shows real-time x,y position. Should be a snap to fit the viewports into the loz template now. -
I'm wondering if anyone had found a better way too find the exact x,y coordinate for exported mfcds, rwr, etc. I have successfully exported them to another monitor but am stuck with constantly 'guess and checking' the x,y values in the lua to get the views to fit in the Loz template. All help is greatly appreciated! 1440x900 17" screen to the right of a 1920x1080 27"

I really appreciate the help guys, downloading today!!

2.0 is up to date and I would only need A-10c this month, so are we guessing less than 7gigs? Or am I (optimistically) misunderstanding something
-
OK, so I have dcs 1.2 as well as 2.0 installed. I figured on waiting for 2.5 to get back into the Caucus map but now with the release of 'piercing fury' I don't think I can wait until the end of the year (or whenever "subject to change" is lol). So my question is, does anyone know how much data I will need to stream to get 1.5? I know some will pull from 1.2 not sure how much tho or if any will pull from 2.0 files. Limited Internet cap every month. Really appreciate any help!

What is DTS? I've never heard of it.

Snowbirds are awesome! I'm hoping to catch a few pics of the B-17. God knows I wont be able to afford a ticket to ride ($450) :\ Though I'm sure it'd be worth it.

Simple question, is anyone planning to attend EAA AirVentures in Oshkosh, WI this year. And if so what are you most looking forward too?

No one else had this issue?

I've noticed that only one of my wingman of the 4flug are showing up on my tad, my net and group are correct. Anyone else having this issue? Is there a way to check how my wingmens' tads are configured? It's hard to verify their targets when I can't see their spi.

Hey all, I might have found a fix for the radio and traffic problems. I opened up the mission in the mission editor (...mods...campaign...red flag...mission 3) and attempted to delete the sa -19s (hoping to simulate the Falcons actually doing their part). I found out that you can't save any changes in the editor but it seems that just opening the mission in the editor fixes all the radio and traffic issues. The mission worked flawless the next time I tried it. I also changed the loadout in the mission briefing, but don't know if that had anything to do with the fix? Please reply if this works for you.

Same issue, bump to keep current
