First post updated with download link (http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/136413/) That was fast. Fire, The download contains a mission file where are the groups are in, so you can add them to your templates. For those who don't have any templates on their own, could use the templates.lua file of me, overwriting their local file (backup first!). Path for that file is %userprofile%\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\MissionEditor

For the mission designers: The last couple of weeks I've been digging through field manuals and online resources to find info on "realistic" battalions/groups/platoons/batteries/... The result is a mission file with more than 30 different battalions, batteries, platoons,.... For the ease of deployment in missions, larger groups are divided in subgroups, so you can deploy a single platoon out of a battalion if you want. Most groups are just a line-up of all units needed in that group, so exact unit placement is up to you. Other groups are already placed in a setup like found in the online resources. Same goes for some subgroups. Different variants are available where appropriate. In infantry platoons, some of them have the soldiers themself in a separate group. Leave out if not needed, duplicate if more are needed. Obviously, DCS does not have all vehicules available that are needed to make it 1 on 1 realistic. So, non existing vehicules are replaced by simular units or left out. Used my imagination here. Also included, is a farp template, what allows you to place a group of vehicles that are outlining a farp structure if zoomed in completly in the editor. Handy to place the farp on a exact spot, or to place units on the farp. Once done, place the FARP structure itself on the central unit, which is another type for easy recognition. Download HERE. In the download are a .miz file what can be used to ad the groups to your own templates, a templates.lua file to simply replace your templates and a pdf with all groups in it. I like the of idea....

Also possible would be the "fill up to" option. Similar like we have with the ground refuel now. So, fill up to 40%, 50%,...... (lower not needed for AAR I guess)

I think it would be cool to have during comms with a tanker the possibility to set how much fuel you want to take. Now, we just take as much as we want, but I think IRL, they go to the tanker to get 2000 pounds (or another amount). Just something preset, and not the amount the pilot thinks is ok. Could be introduced in the precontact menu. Something like " ready for 2000 pounds" or (4000, 6000,....) Once the fuel is transfered, you get a "transfer complete" message.

What I do, and it's pretty easy: Make a mission file named "templates". Deploy all of your templates in there and save it. Easy to share with people too.

WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration
Stuka replied to Headspace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
FYI guys. If you do a full reinstall of version 1.1.1.0, you have to manually create the "Temp" folder in the root of the DCS A-10C folder. It's not created by default it seems, and TARS is not working without it. Had me puzzled for a few hours yesterday to help a squadmate out. -

Yeah, I would change the 2 sidewinders for another 3 rocketpods... -
Was already there in the past.

Bought myself a pair of Lilliput 8" screens. Have them for the moment "fixed" behind my Cougar MFD's, till I come up with a decent build. Here's a little video that shows one of them in action. Video quality is not the best, but you get the idea. IRL, it's looking really nice.
-
Or disable those messages completely, and gain visual verification that you destroyed target. Way more realistic.
-
Did some test myself. They do indeed fire only once (several rounds), but never seem te reload. I let it running for 90 minutes. Al the other artillery units did a reload by that time. Adding ground units does not change the behaviour.
-
That would be a nice feature indeed.

Looking froward for this one. Dressing our virtual home a bit.

Are that the models in the current mod ? What happens if I create a MP mission including this objects and one of the connecting clients does not have the mod? Just nothing visible? Crash ? ...? Great work so far.

Operation Pilot Search V2 MP Beta
Stuka replied to Ranger79's topic in User Created Missions General
Have found a workaround for this: Create a "Dummy" plane on the airfield that you want to have as a blue airfield for all the clients. (and where normally nobody is starting) Let somebody select that plane before he jumps in his "real" plane. You don't have to go in pit for this, just select it in the list. Alle connected clients see that base now as blue. Clients connecting after that move, see the base as neutral, but could do the same trick with the dummy plane. -
I don't think you need a truck in the group. Has a smerch group made this week, with only smerch units. They fired after initial aiming. Then they started rearmin, wich took an hour. Then they fired again. Odd thing was, that I had 9 units in the group. 6 of them started to fire together. Once they were done, the other 3 did. Was the same after reloading.

What if you Mav would not have destroyed the target? I would have turned away and started evasive actions

Noticed today while playing in the editor: the Yak-40 for Georgia has no skin.
