  1. um, actually, I'm quite old. I was hoping that someone could clear up my confusion, did I pay thrice for the FC module, or have I successfully pre-purchased the full fidelity Fulcrum? (alliteration intended)
  2. I already owned FC (both versions), and paid $55 dollars for the MiG-29... How does the FC version cost twice as much as the whole package? null
  3. Um, so I bought this, went to fly it, and there's no interactive cockpit. What gives?
  4. So excited for the Naval Aviation variant. I'll pick it up full price when that comes out first day! Respectfully, Curveball #302 Virtual VFA-113 STINGERS
  5. Thanks, DCoffey! Yes indeed, my VD settings mirrored yours. After trying all the graciously suggested fixes, which were essential actually, the final piece of the puzzle was to (drum roll...) UPDATE my nVidia driver! Doh! I'm running an i9-9900 Crystal Lake, 32gb RAM and, wait for it... nVidia RTX A2000 12gb graphics workstation GPU. Haha! not what one expects to be able to run a video game, but it works quite well even if it did fit in my budget. And I mean Budget. The main reason I have this PC is 3d CAD/CAM operations, but it does often find itself pushing VR pixels into DCS and Ghosts of Tabor, Half-Life Alyx, Beat Saber, etc. I'm really pleased with the clarity and smoothness that my obsolete equipment provides. Again, much thanks. Curveball #302 VFA-113 Virtual STINGERS
  6. dcs - CDRKrotchetyUSN.log - From Yesterday, but without starting a mission...
  7. Hi, Thanks, sleighzy! Yes, Standalone, MT, launches just to 2D, Orange Man Be-Goggled, VR enabled. I'll get the dcs.log to you as soon as I can, before the weekend is over.
  8. I can no longer get DCS to launch in VR when I'm using Virtual Desktop (Quest 2 version). Dang.
  9. ...I'm on and on. Of course, if I'm gooned up past the 135, he'll give me a wave-off. But every time I've got a good approach going, I'll get the "Foul Deck" wave-off. Makes getting aboard with a grade impossible. Stand by, I'll fly it and get a track for y'all. Regards, Curveball 302 VFA-113 Virtual Stingers Wave_Off-Foul_Deck.trk
  10. It's only been 6 1/2 years... SH60F / HH60H Navy Seahawks, PLEEEEEEASE! R, CDR Krotchety USN (Ret)
  11. Nope, didn't work. Will try now that I've Cleaned and Slow Repaired...
  12. Also, when attempting to fly the Hornet Case 1 Instant Action mission, I found that the ship was missing. Helicopter was in starboard delta, but no ship to be seen... 13. Yep, you're right, and thanks! Geez, it's humiliating when I think of how long I've been bopping about on that false pogo stick... just thankful DCS is running way better than my hoopty rig has a right to.
  14. Okay, will try that. As soon as the 122 gb download for MSFS finishes!
  15. Ah, dang it. Now I'm confused. I couldn't find a way to bring up a VD overlay, and as you can see in the picture below, DCS is running in VD, Oculus tells me to switch to it, and when I shut off Oculus without switching, I'm still in DCS. How do I figure this out?
  16. I'll check that out! I thought that because the Oculus app never comes up, and after I shut down DCS, Oculus still shows the warning to switch...
  17. Thanks! However, since the last patch, I don't have to worry about the parameters at all. I simply had to open bin-mt\DCS.exe through the VD tray icon. No parameters in that one. Don't even have to open Oculus or Steam. Just using OpenXR directly. Flying in the Wolfpack Campaign, I set the action to "Large Bomber Formation", and it was smoooooth like butter, whereas in ST my frames went below 20 and it was like a slideshow.
  18. Ah! Hallelujah, it's working! Thanks for the info. However, I DO NOT have to set oculus as runtime, I'm able to use openXR directly! Oculus app never has to come on, neither does Steam. Straight VD and OpenXR only!
  19. Thanks, I'll try that right now...
  20. Okay, so help me here. I absolutely cannot run DCS in oculus api, nor can I run it using Link Cable or Air Link at all without instant nausea from 6 - 9 FPS. However, I've been running Virtual Desktop ("Launch Game" from the tray), no Oculus or Steam, just OpenXR, for over a year now. Superbly. Even in the face of forum posts that claim Oculus Quest2 can't run OpenXR with VD. Now I can run ST in the method above, and it's even smoother than before the MT version, which in and of itself is sweet compensation. You may ask, "Compensation for what, CDR Krotchety?" Because MT just CTDs before the loading screen every time I've tried to run it in VD. I've been able to get into VR by going through Link Cable or Air Link, but it's a slow-strobe slide show of a vomit-inducing nightmare. Whether calling up Oculus or Steam .apis. I'd love to try the new multi-threading in VR, but it's gonna have to be through the Virtual Desktop, which runs VR great in the single-thread version. Is there a solution? 22. Hey, I'm a little confused. I've been running DCS on OpenXR with my Quest 2 in Virtual Desktop with a 5ghz router for quite awhile (over a year, I believe). Lately, the performance has been OUTSTANDING, even with my non-gaming gpu (Quadro P4000). I have been playing around with Sidequest settings, various bitrates, refresh rates, etc, which all have an effect on performance to one degree or another. I'm talking SMOOOOOTH and satisfying for the most part, with an occasional stutter-fest when I try to really push the settings. Granted, the resolution I tend to run forces me to lean in to the panels to read the fine instrument print sometimes, but Dang, That Dog Will Hunt! One thing I've never had to do with DCS since then is either run Oculus or Steam VR software. When I've tried those runtimes, my entire PC would have a stroke. So OpenXR and VD are my cures. Works wonderfully. But now that I read through the first part of this thread, I found out what I'm doing isn't supposed to work. I'm praying for a lot of things to happen in this world, and add a prayer that, as soon as I finish this post and start up DCS like I've been doing, I don't find out it no longer does work! One thing I can't get going, however, is to bring up the overlay menu in DCS. So all my tweaking for NIS, FFV, scaling, etc. has been via vrperfkit config file text editing.
  23. Ooh! gonna edit my profile to include your suggestion! Vaicom allows you to "tag along" your own profile. I will then be able to say "Map", and then use your suggestion!
  24. ...but would be mind blowing if incorporated into the new Community VAICOM Voice Attack Plugin.
