  1. Congrats, and Thank You! Purchased this morning, and loving this superb rendition with her 1930's Art Deco lines and Steam-Punk vibe!
  2. Watched the dogfight between the I-16 and a 109. This bird is extremely capable down low in a furball!
  3. Spins and stalls look incredibly real.
  4. Watching the live feed. He put it into a power dive, and ripped all the control surfaces off. The damage model seems very robust!
  5. Just pulled the trigger. Can't wait to load her up!
  6. Holy Cow, he just took out that baby-milk truck with his machine guns!
  7. Just watching him raise the landing gear with a hand crank. Must have this module...
  8. The textures and animations are mesmerizing...
  9. It's fantastic!
  10. Although, our carrier helo squadron did do a Spec-Ops detachment with one of the small ships in our carrier battle-group. With the HH-60Hs we had. Unfortunately, I missed that action, as I had yet to check into that unit...
  11. Well, if you like flying out over the horizon wandering aimlessly at the direction of a bunch of ship drivers to find what turns out to be a dispersed fleet of fishing dhows, and then get back to the ship well after wardroom mess has secured (but they've prepared a couple of box lunches for you), then that is more compelling than doing CAS/Spec Ops Insert Extract detachments in downtown Basra from the carrier. Just sayin', from real life experience...:pilotfly:
  12. Any chance we could just transition the SH-60B to the SH-60F? The "B" was never used on US Navy aircraft carriers; it is known in the Carrier Air Wings as a "Black Shoes' Kite". It only ever operated off of Destroyers, Cruisers, and Frigates. The iterations of Seahawks that were part of the Carrier Airwings were the SH-60F (Anti-Submarine/Surface/Fleet Logistics Support) and the HH-60H (CSAR/CAS/Maritime Strike/Naval Special War - SEAL). The "F" defended the Carrier Battle Group with its dipping sonar dome and MK-46/50/54 torpedoes. The "H" had the best FLIR turret in the fleet and could carry up to 8 AGM-114 HELLFIRE missles. Plus the electric gatling gun. Way more fun than a "B".
  13. Struggling right now with Solidworks, working on designing the tooling for my client to restart manufacturing the Stewart 51D... http://www.stewart51mustang.com/ and my Solidworks is kicking me in the junk with broken sketches to files that I had finished months ago... Arrgh. Doesn't Fusion 360 also do multi-axis CAM toolpaths?
  14. Only if they actually do the SH-60F and HH-60H. For some reason, every developer out there puts SH-60Bs on carriers. 60Bs are Shoe Kites. They hung out on small boys. 60F and 60H had totally different missions tailored for CVW ops, and are actually way more interesting to me, having flown them IRL...
  15. Well Done! What printer are you using? I've got the Formlabs Form 1+, which I love, and Solidworks 2018 sp2.0, which often makes me want to switch to Fusion 360...
  16. Might be fun to have a server dedicated to alternate universe fantasy aircraft. I'm not so wrapped around the realistic-axle to preclude wanting a 5th or 6th generation fighter that is based on supposition. Just for a fun diversion. After all, Crimson Skies on PC would be awesome, but Jessica Biel in a Stealth in VR? Because Awesome.
  17. Yep. As of late last night, JHMCS still thinks 9Ms are on the aircraft instead of the 9Xs. The HUD know what's what, though.
  18. I just turn the brightness on each DDI down. Also works wonders with the AMPCD. Those knobs work great, I can get very sharp looking font with just a wave of my Oculus Touch laser finger...
  19. Up until this week, AIM-9X worked wonderfully with JHMCS! Then it broke...
  20. If you're gonna get the F-15C, just go ahead and spend a little extra to get FC-3! You'll get the Eagle, plus a whole bunch more. Much more economical in the long run, and alleviates any chance of regret...
  21. Respectfully, Curveball VFA-113 STINGERS #302
  22. Jar is correct. Get both. Don't be a dummy. Be more like Jar. I have given up expensive Scotch whiskey in order to justify the expense of these two outstanding stalwarts of Naval Aviation. That is all. Carry On.
  23. Ahh, I see. Well, I can work with that. Just more opportunities to try my hand at the 5h!* Hot Break... because it's gonna take prodigious practice to not screw that up!
  24. Searched the forums, nothing came up, so: After completing long flights from the carrier, ILS does not show up. If we launch and come right back into the pattern, the needles work wonderfully. That's great when we're doing CQs, but coming back at night from a hard day's work blowing up the Inta-Humar's toys, we get fairly frightened trying to land CASE 3 with no ICLS... In short, ICLS works great for around 40 minutes, then goes away. Regards, Curveball VFA-113 STINGERS #302
