Thanks all for the replies, decided to hold off for now and upgrade his rig in February for his birthday
-
Hey all, trying to upgrade my kids rig that I got a great deal on. Its rocking an RTX 3050, which is bottom of the barrel I guess. If anybody has an old 2080, or something along that performance line, Id be very appreciative Shipping would be to Lower Alabama, US. Many thanks

I inquired with them ages ago for something I don’t even remember but was told that it’s not for retail sale, just commercial training etc.

What does the CDR button do?
tribundf replied to eifionglyn's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
CDR button is used to temporarily disable the centering force (trim) so you can move the stick to a new “center”. Generally what most helicopter with modern AFCS use, so you can essentially momentarily “interrupt” the flight control system tho reorient the aircraft. It is however currently not modeled, but you do have a trim release button right now, which essentially is the same thing, just a very rudimentary solution, until the afcs is fully modeled.- 1 reply

investigating Gunner Status doesn't pop up in VR
tribundf replied to scorpion80's topic in Bugs and Problems
I use a 10” touch screen and a standard monitor. Have the touchscreen setup to the right of my screen. Half the Gunner panel is on the bottom left of my main screen and the other half nowhere to be found Kneeboard box shows up in VR but the actual knee board only on the VR mirror. controls indicator and cargo box is nowhere to be found. Im using open knee board anyway, so at this point I’ve stopped messing with it. My gunner ROE etc. is setup with keybinds anyway, so I just cycle through -

tribundf replied to scorpion80's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yeah, saw that. Can still use Helios tho. That’s what I do, and my AI panel is also wired and I’m missing a few other overlays like cargo box etc. Really need an option from ED to move those overlays and make it a bit easier to adjust them -

Are you using Helios or have a special monitor file? -
The Load is Swinging Fore and Aft...Tim? Ten? Tam?
tribundf replied to dresoccer4's topic in DCS: CH-47F
Ten as in 10 feet, is how I understand it. he tells you it’s centered too, so if it’s swinging he will tell you how far out it is swinging -
This is not an open knee board issue. Open knee board works fine. Im talking about the DCS integrated knee board and with that any other overlays like control indicator, external cargo indicator, crew ROE indicator etc.

Trim no longer working with Rhino ffb
tribundf replied to 142nd_Bama's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Still works fine on my Brunner, however the trim reset function currently is not working and ED is aware. check you bindings? Maybe something got messed up? Double bound in UI layer maybe? -
I seem to be facing a different issue entirely, but I am hoping that someone here might have a magic solution. I am running VR with one touchscreen to export the Chinook CDU. Got it all to work perfect, except my Kneeboard is not working correctly. I can see the sizeable box in VR, but I cannot see the actual kneeboard, as this only shows up on my main monitor. Seems to be a viewport issue that I am unable to solve. Tried all the lua changes above too. Check the pic attached, so yall know what I mean. Using VR without any helios exports, works just fine and all shows up as intended Many thanks

reviving this topic, as I have the same issue and unable to solve. Has there been a solution? Attached is my VR mirror screenshot. Empty box shows in VR but no kneeboard, thats only on my main monitor
-
Showing the mouse in center of your view with a command would be perfect. That way you can use it in VR to push buttons with head movement and left/right click mapped

Digging up this old topic here.... I have managed to get the display to be exported, but now my background is still the rendered DCS image. I cant get the viewpoint to only be shown in VR and main monitor and not the touchscreen that I am trying to use
-
Is it possible to use VR + MFCD export together?
tribundf replied to foobolt's topic in Virtual Reality
Totally necro'ing this discussion here, but I am wondering if there has been any more progress towards this goal. Id like to use Helios on a touchscreen with VR, but the VR viewport always renders the touchscreen as well, making it impossible to see anything on the exported screen. I want to use the touchscreen to export the Chinook CDU. Works perfect in 2D, but not in VR. Is there away to manually tell DCS where to render VR and what to keep for the exported screen? -
Does anyone have the panel dimensions for the CH-47 Pilot's CDU?
tribundf replied to CrystalynEntity's topic in Home Cockpits
Following…… would really love a ch47 CDU -
Well damn. Please tell me they are purchasable somewhere!!

Thanks BigNewy. No rush. Yall have done an outstanding job with the Apache for FFB and I have no doubt it will be the same for the hook. I just needed to confirm that it is indeed not implemented yet and I didnt botch my brunner settings! everybody chill. Its early access and been out less than a week. I dont even know how BigNewy keeps up with all that, so taking a few days to respond is already quicker than I anticipated! Yall keep it up, love the chinook already!!
-
just to confirm, FFB is currently not implemented in the Chinook? FFB and trim works perfect in the Apache, but the Hook is basically a non centered stick currently. Will get implemented with the trim system later on, yes?

This cardboard trick is quite interesting. I wish winwing could fix it within the app, as this is something that obviously cant be intended. Or maybe even give us the option to buy a different cam

Hello all, I just upgraded to the crystal. Selling my Pimax 8kx with 3 base station 2.0, after market face cushion and counter weights $850 I’ll take care of shipping within the US cheers

Yep, my friend, I believe you are right. I guess my total lack of real world reference and always having used a non FFB stick has me all messed up. I still dont grasp it 100%, but I am getting there. It is definitely not Brunner issue, as the Apache etc. works 100% fine as intended. Sorry for having wasted your time like this buddy. I sure do appreciate your feedback and help for my ignorance!

No joy unfortunately. I let USB config tool do its thing and did not do anything to the calibration. Power cycled the stick and its all perfectly centered. Unfortunately as soon as I enter the Cockpit the stick jumps forward again. All things DCS are never simple I guess //Edit: Ha, this keeps getting weirder and weirder! F14 Caucasus Take off mission. Sitting on the runway after starting the mission, the stick moved forward. When I hit the Autopilot engage switch, the stick slowly centers. Disengaging the autopilot leaves the stick in perfect center position.... Furthermore, I found a way to stop the stick from jumping forward as mission start. I have to turn the FF Tuning Trimmer Value to 0. Not sure why it says trimmer value tho, since once I turn it down, I basically have no centering anymore. Been messing with it for so long now, that I kinda lost track on what all I tried, ha. Can you tell me your settings in DCS for the Tomcat and how the Brunner behaves at mission start on Instant action, caucasus takeoff? Many thanks
