  1. I'll answer my own question in case someone else has the same issue. I upgraded TARGET to the latest version and it works now. Does anyone know how to make the TARGET software installer install the programs to any location other than "C:\program files (X86)\Thrustmaster?"
  2. I am trying to learn Target programing, but have encountered a problem running the Device Analyzer. From reading the manual and other posts here, I was expecting to see my TM devices (joystick, throttle, MFD's, rudder pedald and the Virtual Thrustmaster controller) listed while the script is running. Similar to this screen shot from another thread. But when I click the round icon in the upper left hand corner, this is what I see. The controllers aren't listed by name but only as "HID Device". There are six of them. The first five show no buttons or axes. When I click on the sixth it show only three axes and no buttons. When I move the stick and throttles none of axes move. It seems so simple, so I must be doing something wrong. I have tried this with the script in the TARGET tutorial, the scripts from the DCS World TARGET profile for TM Cougar (HOTAS+MFDs) and some of the scripts for FC2 whicj came packaged with the Target software. The scripts are running correctly and "main returned 0" appears in the script output window. I am have the TARGET Script Editor as RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR box checked in its properties. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
  3. Can someone else with an HTC Vive confirm that the F-5E free fall bomb training mission in DCS (ver 1.5.5.60565) doesn't work in VR? When I try loading it in VR mode, DCS hangs with the loading screen. The mission run fines in normal (non-VR) mode. Is it my system or a problem with DCS?
  4. Home Fries, My pleasure. You are doing some great work and giving it away to the community, so I am glad to help support your further efforts. Great. I will PM you some ideas for VR functions based on how I am using the HTC Vive, but they are so basic they should apply for Rift users too. Fantastic! I looking forward to it and hoping there will be a profile for the Spitfire.
  5. I figured as much. Thanks for this excellent utility.
  6. Norton say Kneeboard Builder is a threat? Thanks for the quick reply. Somehow 7zip did not extract all the files. It is working now. However, Norton quarantined Kneeboard Builder.exe :cry::cry::cry: and reports it as a threat. Is this a known issue?
  7. VR Support Home Fries, When you consider future improvements, please consider implementing a couple of VR functions. These are located in the UI section of the profile and should apply across all profiles. (1). VR (2). VR Zoom It would also be handy to have the option of mapping the mouse functions shown in the UI section to one of the hat switches for use in VR. BTW---I just donated to your development work.
  8. F-5E Profile Questions Home Fries, Great. Also the "radar mode" cw/ccw" functions in the shifted mode of CH(Left/Right) appear to be missing in the F5E controller profile. Just a couple of other questions about the F5E profile. (1.) Is there any way to use the HOTAS to adjust the rudder trim? The JOY_BTN30+H1(left/right) are available in several of the other profiles, but not in the F5E profile? (2.) I may be missing something in understanding the overall schema of the profiles, but what is the logic of having S3 activate the comms menu in the GSU mode, when the mic switch on the throttle works in either GSU/GSD? I have had trouble using the HOTAS to lower the landing gear. When the comms menu is up it seems to inhibit the function of the china hat. I am amazed at the effort you must put in to keep up with all the different commands and controller profiles for soooo many planes. Great work!!!!
  9. F-5E Profile: radar range and mode Should have tried this before making the preceding post...I'll answer my own question. :joystick::joystick::joystick: I entered JOY_BTN30 + JOYBTN22 /JOY_BTN30 + JOYBTN23 for the CCW/CW radar mode and JOY_BYN22/JOY_BTN23 for radar range rows in the controller profile in DCS and it all works fine now. So when we see a function being assigned to a DX yy button, then we should see that JOY_BTN yy button being assigned a function in the controller's profile column? Now I need to figure where/how in the *.tmc script, you assign key presses to buttons. I know, I know ---> I need to RTFM for Target! :book::book::book: :doh:So much too learn, so little time to actually fly!
  10. Home Fries, No problem. I'll try using the DX profile. I am an engineer too and too often do a fast read, jump to conclusions as to where I think you're going and when it doesn't work, come back, reread the manual but with precision. :smilewink: I'll pass along my notes of any areas where I went the wrong direction. Thanks for the explanations. I have encountered a problem with the F-5E profile. Everything seems to work as shown on the Warthog graphic except for the Coolie Hat (CH) on the Throttle. CH (up) and CH (down) work fine to increase/decreases radar elevation, but CH(left) and CH(right) appears to do nothing. In the script event tester, I can see CH (up) and CH (down) generating the correct keyboard strings for the radar elevation, but nothing for CH left and CH right in either normal or shifted modes. Kb commands should be "0","9", "-" and "=". I am a little confused about which button presses generate events observable on the event tester. Line 180/181 in F5E.tmc, appears to assign DX22/DX23 to CH (left and right). Looking in the F5E sim control's profile for the radar mode and range functions, I don't see anything mapped in the Thrustmaster Virtual Controller column. Should this be DX22/DX23? So, I don't know where there should be buttons assigned in the controller column or if the command is coming as a kb command. Where do I go from here to trouble shoot? :helpsmilie: This is a good opportunity for me to understand how these profiles work, so any explanation or comments would be greatly appreciated. :megalol: Thanks
  11. KBB crashes on install Thanks for creating this great utility. Unfortunately it crashes when I try installing it. I sent you the files from the EventViewer.
  12. Home Fries, I have been working my way through my fleet of DCS planes setting up the profiles for each. All has gone well. Every time I thought I have found a problem, it has turned out I did something wrong or should have read the instructions more carefully. In setting up the Hawk, I have encountered a problem: I had entered a "1" on the line for Hawk T.1A in the Installed Module section of the DCS World.tmc, but the Hawk was not in the list of a/c in the hot selection process. So I made it the default module and when I launched the script and received the following error: Runtime Error: Symbol not found: DCS_Hawk_Init in HOTAS_Cougar_Button_Init ( line 315 in DCS World.tmc ) Looking in my "E:\TM\TP\DCS\Modules" directory, I find no .tmc file for the Hawk or C101. Have I missed something? I download the 1.65 files from the DROP BOX link. Here is the output from the script startup for: *** Allocated ProcInstances found from the previous run: use FreeProcInstance() *** Mapped plugin module "C:\Program Files (x86)\Thrustmaster\TARGET\Plugins\sys.dll" Physical USB HID devices managed by script! 13. Home Fries, Thanks for the speedy reply. To better clarify my question, I was referring to Appendix C, page 22 where you show how to create a shortcut to run DCS without updating by replacing "DCS_upater.exe"with "Launcher.exe". I did follow the instructions in a appendix B and create a shortcut to run the DCS World.tmc script. That does simplfy startup. Taking it one step farther, I know I can create a batch file to run the script and then start DCS. I admit that I haven't cracked manual on Target Programing, but is there a way to launch DCS from inside a Target script? Also, it appears from the script editor that you can compile a script? Is there any advantage to compiling the DCS World.tmc and running the compiled script? Again, thanks for this excellent capability.
  14. What version do you need to purchase today in order to get this capability when available?
  15. Home Fries, Thank you for all the excellent work on making Target profiles accessible for the rest of us. I received a TM HOTAS Warthog for my birthday and had been feeling overwhelmed in the amount of work required to build profiles for only a couple of planes, much less the whole fleet!!!! I installed 1.65 last night and finally got it going after discovering I really needed to improve my reading skills. ;-) One problem that I'm not sure I resolved correctly is making desktop shortcuts to start DCS without updating. Has DCS removed the "Launcher.exe" program from 1.5? I couldn't find it in the /Program Files/Eagle Dynamics/DCS directory. Instead of putting launcher.exe in the shortcut's target, I put "DCS.EXE". It doesn't seem to check for updates, but I'm not sure that is the best way to do it. Before posting this question I did search this thread for "update", "updater", and "launcher" but found no hits. So I apologize if this has been asked before, but I missed it.
  16. HiJack, Did you post the code on GitHub? I would like to see the code extended to support multiple keyboards. Thanks for your effort.
  17. Great video. Looking forward to the release. Who is the narrator? It sounds a lot like Rob Reider, who narrates many Sporty's Pilot Shop instructional videos and airshows.
  18. In searching for a solution, I found reference in a post about including a line in the NETWORK.CFG that put an asterisk "*" in the server address line, but I can't find it. Does anyone know of a reference that explains the possible contents of the NETWORK.CFG?
  19. Just to update my own post. Turns out both servers do show up in the master service list when viewed from the internet, but for some reason when the master list is viewed from a client inside my LAN only the server assigned to port # 10308 is in the list. So, can anyone tell me how to make servers assigned to some port # other than 10308 appear in the master list when viewed from inside the LAN? It not a big deal, since I can connect to the IP address, but I would still like to figure this out for my own edification. Also is there a reference that explains the parameters and setting that can be included in the network.cfg file? Thanks Alamo
  20. This is my first post on the forum. I am trying to set up two servers on the same public IP address. Each DCS server is running on a separate computer on my internal LAN and is assigned a different port address (10308 and 10307). However only the server using port 10308 appears in the master server list. I see other people doing this, for instance, currently there are four virtual-TFS51.de Dedicated Servers @ ip = 144.76.35.114 using ports 10302, 10304, 10305 and 10307. It seems that it should be straight forward: just assign a different port number to each server on the NEW SERVER screen and then set up port forwarding on the router to forward external connections from that port to the correct internal IP address of the server. I have one server using the default port of 10308 and set the second server to use 10307, but only the port 10308 server appears in the master server list. I have disabled the Windows 7 Firewall on the 2nd server to avoid local firewall problems without luck and even tried moving it into the router's DMZ also without luck. If I change the port address of the second server back to 10308 it show up in the master server list. I have tested that port 10307 is open from outside my network using http://portchecker.co/check. I am able to connect directly to the second server by entering the local ip address (i.e. 192.168.0.75:10307), but receive a "CONNECTION INTERRUPTED" message when I attempt to connect by IP using the public ip 71.205.138.151:10307. Attached is the network.cfg file from the second server. Seems simple, but I must be something. I would appreciate any help. Thanks. TWC_Alamo network.cfg
  21. [sOLVED] Can't reslove hostname or connect to master. I have the same problem, which seems to occur intermittently and is usually solved by shutting down and coming back the next day. That is not a very satisfactory fix and hasn't worked for this last week.. The log file shows the following errors: 00015.995 ERROR NET: Can't connect to Master: SSL connect error 00015.995 ERROR NET: Master login : 503 Since the "time zone" fix was posted, DCS has updated their web site and apparently eliminated the time zone drop down in the personal section. So that is no longer a possible solution. What I did discover in trying all the solutions in this thread and others, is the problem is most likely your firewall blocking communications with the MASTER. Try the following command to test access to port 5222 from outside your network. http://portquiz.net:5222/. If it fails, you will be unable to communicate with the Master. I am running Norton's Internet Security Suite and even though there were several firewall rules for DCS present, my system was failing the port test. I fixed the problem by simply resetting the firewall: under Norton's SECURITY SETTINGS ---> MANAGE FIREWALL-----> FIREWALL RESET... [+] RESET and it fixed my problem. (I thought I had tried previously testing by turning off the Norton's firewall, and it still wouldn't work, but perhaps I didn't really have the blasted firewall turned off.) Anyway, I hope this works for you.
