Ground Weapon Employment: TGP elevation source
amalahama replied to miguelaco's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Ok, ok, I will try again. CCIP accuracy is not valid as evidence; there are more effects involved: wind, pressure deviation... . A good proof would be, for example, to evaluate Mark Z to see if it fits to the terrain or create a Markpoint when you are flying above hills with CR on and see if markpoint is stuck to the terrain or not. I did some tests before and Mark Z always lied on the ground (bombs can blow up several meters off, though). But not over hilly terrain TBH. Regards! -
Ground Weapon Employment: TGP elevation source

I have the feeling that DTS elev database is reduced to the exact terrain altitude ingame. Always fits perfectly to the terrain, even in rough areas. We don't suffer the problem that real pilots must deal with. And anyway, although a nice feature and probably not extremly difficult to implement (I guess), I prefer to have a consistent suite modelled, even if it's old, than bits from here and there, with chips from every suite but no modelling any particular one. Regards! -

Thanks Paulrkii!! It seems suite 6 and 7 have some exciting improvements, a shame we can not enjoy them in the sim. Anyway, even if TGT elevation cannot be inferred from TGP laser, do you know if using manual lasing when you have a SPI can help you to get a better slant range? Regards! -
Dynamic Campaign Discussion Thread
amalahama replied to winchesterdelta1's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Dynamic campaigns are cool if you flight a multirol aircraft, but extremly boring for a roll-specific aircraft like the A-10. In Falcon, well, you can do some SEAD work, then jump into a deep strike mission and afterwards fly a BARCAP over the no-fly zone. And it's great because while you are doing that, a lot of things are happening too and you know it; you can see heavy bombers attacking, CSAR helicopter flying low, or troops on ground stirring up the mud. But for the A-10 specifically... well, to do again and again the same mission, blowing up T-72, BMPs and ZSUs can get you bored if nothing unexpected happens. At least with man-made missions, you can have surprises waiting for you just behind the corner. Regards -
Ground Weapon Employment: TGP elevation source

Sorry the small reflot, but what was the answer? I'm curious as well! Regards!!! -
Yesterday I was testing manual reversion and wohaaa! Aircraft is really hard to fly, impossible to me. It first starts with a heavy pitch-up (which according to "Flying the Hog during Gulf war" book is completly realistic ) and then it starts to slip right and left. Stick is extremly sensitive and it's very easy to get in a spin. Can you guys give me some tips to tame A-10 when MRFCS is active? Is really so hard in the real-life? Regards!

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
amalahama replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I agree! It's "drumroll and tada" time. If they expect to deliver something in one year-one year and a half timeframe, they should have already started with the new module. Regards! -
Oh, and IIRC, GBU laser codes are set up on ground as well, and they are not changeable in flight (but you still can change TGP laser code though). Another one to include in the mission editor/planning. Regards!

Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
amalahama replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Yes!!! I make it!!! I have been eventually able to match my lua config file with the final configuration in the sim. This is critical: When you modify graphics.cfg (or ingame), don't forget to work out the aspect ratio summing all your viewing space, not only your 3D View Example: 1xscreen 1920x1080 at the left, 1xscreen 1920x1080 at the right. So your resolution is 3840x1080, and your aspect ratio is 3.55!!! In that way it should be reflected in graphic.cfg (or in the option menu ingame) Then, in your particular config, you must use the real aspect ratio for your 3D window: ... Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1920; height = 1080; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 1920/1080; } ... And that's it! Regards!! -
Clouds improvements are welcomed, but even better would be a more complete weather configurator in the mission editor. Too many things are randomized, we have little control about how the weather will be. And some sort of weather forecast with isobaric maps and all that fancy things in the mission planner would be nice too. Regards!

Fantastic! I have read something about before, just I wanted to know whether it's already implemented or still pending. Although TBH, INS modelling is something that BlackShark people would note more, since "Rubicon" works with INS raw data and it's not blended with GPS data. Regards!
-
No english native speaker here! What does that idiom mean? Regards!
-
Well I can answer myself now: I've just finished a test flight. After forcing EGI to take INS data only, and breaking GPS keys just in case, the FOM remained 1 and GPS, INS and BLENDED position in SYS/INS/POS match each other. In ALIGN page, INS alignement factor didn't move from 4.0 0.8. Shame :( Regards!

Dynamic Campaign Discussion Thread

That would be great indeed. But to be honest I think hostile high-level IA is not the worst problem when developing a DC; managing hundreds, maybe thousands of units in realtime with their very own physics and behaviour is for me more challenging. But with the approach you're suggesting, calculations might be splitted up among all clients computers¿? Regards! -
Not important questions, but I'm curious... Is INS drift modelled? Has GPS constellation model been retained from Black Shark (and used) ? Regards!

I'm not looking for dropping guided bombs as dumb bombs in CCIP mode. I'm looking for dropping a guided bomb in CCIP mode and being actively guided to the designed impact point. Regards!
-
Well it makes sense if you want to do CCIP bombing in a windy day... Sometimes you need the quick "aim and drop" ability of CCIP mode, but with the precision of guiding bombs. But you probably are right, it might be not technically feasible since JDAM coords takes some time to be dumped from aircraft to bomb (but even in that case, the bomb would be dropped a little bit late but it should still be able to guide to the CCIP selected impact point). Maybe using Mark Z and laser bombs, with a post-drop lasing, something can be done, but it's too cumbersome... Regards!

My rig is quite new (i5 2600, GTX560Ti) so change it is not in my masterplan :P I suspect that maybe electric source is not able to provide enough power, and GPU doesn't receive the proper current when it's working hard (like in DCS A-10C). Others non-intensive simulators, like FSX, run well however. I will try to underclock my GPU this afternoon when I arrive at home, and see what it happens. I hope to solve this problem because it's keeping me out of online flying since first betas, it's very annoying:cry: Regards!

Hi! Is there any way to get a CCIP release with guided weapon, that actually guide the weapon to the pepeer position in the release instant? I mean, I want a GBU-38 or CBU-103/105 to be guided to my CCIP release point, correcting wind drift, without any target designation. Is it possible? Regards!

One more... It would be great if fuze could be changed or programed in mission editor/mission planning. For example, instead using INV page to define HOF CBU altitude, which is not completly reallistic, to use this dialog box to define HOF, RPM and that kind of things. It could be used also to change between M904/905 and FMU113 fuzes in dumb bombs as well, if the dumb bombs fuzes would be modelled further on. Maybe the ability to change fuze setting in-flight can be retained and get active via .lua or something. Regards!

No I don't. And 30 minutes is a reference; sometimes happens in 10 mins, maybe the next one after 40 minutes. In 1.0.0.9 I have noted that the blackouts appear more often. This only happens with DCS:A-10C, and it seems I'm the only one in the universe with that problem, it should be some sort of divinal retaliation or something  Regards!
-
My issue is even weirder. Since BETA, I have had problems with momentary black-outs, everyting goes black, and then cockpit and world are made up again and I can keep on flying. This happen to me once for each 30 minutes, more or less. Well, now in 1.0.0.9 I have discovered that, after the first blackout, HDR changes to cold as well. This gives me a clue about what's the problem can be. So... Thanks for the bug :D Regards!

Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
amalahama replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Thanks you a lot Mastiff, but I give up. I've found out that I can more or less fit everything well in my second monitor modfying my initial .lua, but it's very time consuming and I've seen that I'm not the only one with this problem: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=77612 So I will wait for 1.0.0.10 to see if the problem is solved. Regards! -
Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
amalahama replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Tested too, but no way. One thing that catch my attention is that left MFD appears centered on the second screen, even if the X value is 1920 (so it should be just stuck to the main monitor) Regards! -
Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
amalahama replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
... Yes, I did it already. You can see the result in the attachment: main monitor change slighty its aspect ratio (because the correct one is 1.777), but still the same problem with the second monitor. It's a simple multimonitor install, I can't understand where the problem is Regards!
