  1. I'm not sure if its been posted here before, but I'm wondering if anyone could elaborate further on the various classifications listed within the HAD page. I learned that you are able to make the HTS update faster by telling the HTS to "look" for specific radar signatures, but I have no idea what Class 1 through 11 means nor have I ran into an information that would tell me what each one entails.
  2. To be honest my guy, how I first started was honestly just simple. Just fly. Don't focus much on the systems of the aircraft just get the feel of it. Start with learning how to start the aircraft up, you don't have to know what they stand for, just understand that flipping this switch will turn on this—etc. After being fairly confident in starting it up without looking up a checklist or tutorial, you can focus on other systems. Start with the small and easy stuff and work your way up after understanding it well enough—just enough to know that this does that. Everything will come in place. It's one big jigsaw puzzle and every module is a puzzle. Understand the basics, build upon it, master it. Then you can work on the weapon systems and navigations. Just as many individuals have stated here, use resources like guides and youtube videos, but don't rely on them too much. That's information overload. Just understand their purpose and how to operate it on a basic level. After understanding how it works/to turn on then you can look at the resources in front of you to get a more advanced knowledge of it. (Example: RWR and symbologies). But everyone is different. I started out with the F-15C (FC) module and I didn't understand what anything meant. All I knew was that pulling on the stick meant I go up. Then A10A to A10C. Always treat each bird differently and try not to compare, but soon you'll see a lot of similarities and pick up on them quite easily. And lastly: Have fun. That's really all there is to it. Just enjoy the module. And all the stress included in it. Like you A10C. Ya damn big bird.
  3. So I recently got the Rift, well more like recently been using Rift for DCS, and I am encountering the difficulty of seeing targets. With desktop (non-vr) I'm able to spot targets at minimum 10 nautical miles easily. With VR that visual acquisition drastically drops to 2 nautical miles MAX. 0.5 nautical miles when viewing for planes in the weeds. I've tried doing the options people have been suggesting (SUPERSAMPLING - INCREASE MSAA/AA - WIDEN YOUR EYES - etc). Never got it to work or I'm not understanding how to get it to work. I have a GTX 1060 6gb. I've tried the DSR option, but I didn't notice any difference or didn't understand how it worked. Probably did it wrong. But anyways to my knowledge, I somewhat improved the visuals of the game with a minimal percentage of dankness, but still suffer in easily acquiring targets (Via ingame options). I know about the screen door - I mean, I can see it. But that itself isn't a problem. I'm wondering how you VR simmers are seeing anything let alone engaging anything past 2 nautical miles. I messed around with Pixel Density (Currently mine is 1.5). But that didn't really improve anything. I was reading comments like a gullible child reading advertisements of VR peeps seeing things 8 nautical miles out with these settings. Never worked. Or probably did it wrong. (To also note I got a pretty decent PC setup. Lag and all of that sort is not affecting my visual Asian eyes capabilities. i7 7700, 16gb Ram. No FPS loss either just really having trouble spotting things.) Tips?
  4. That's what I thought. Or a modder will just take the F-18C cockpit and create a Superhornet model lmao.
  5. I'm not sure if it is already implemented, but that's the highest on my wishlist, the ability to buddy refuel. The implementation of it would, in my opinion, enhance the gameplay and everything aspect of missions. From Training to Combat Missions. And it would be enjoyable to troll your friends. The reasons are almost limitless. And immediately stop having those stupid AI's reeling those fueling lines back in after it takes 20 minutes to stabilize and catch the basket. (For newer players who aren't used to A/A refueling). Or sudden banks without warning. Or PRE-CONTACT x 20 times. You get the gist. Another example of why it should be in is for those aircrafts who don't have the distance to travel without carrying bags, hampering their combat ability for the mission. (I.E.: Harriers carrying a lot of bombs and don't have enough fuel to make it back home.) And we're getting a lot of Naval Aircrafts making their debut, as well as aircrafts who have fueling probes. EDIT: Nevermind. I assumed that the F-18C/D variant were capable to Buddy Refuel. I looked it up to make sure and just found out only the Super Hornets were capable of that feat. Bummer. Still on the wishlist though. Emphasis on the Wish.
  6. Forgot the displeased headshake after landing around 2:50 lmao.
  7. Not to sound like a broken record, but when exactly is it coming out? Around next week? Right? RIGHT?? RIGHT?!
  8. Er...YES! In a more serious note/question, could a Harrier equip a half-half type of deal? Ex: One wing having the AIM-9 and on the other the AGM-122? Best of both worlds I'd think. Though understandably I could anticipate some sort of system confliction when attempting to choose which to fire, let alone selecting.
  9. One would also take note that DCS AI are relatively simplistic when it comes to players performing SEAD and DEAD missions--they're not simulated well; they don't turn off their radars at all. ("Uh, hello. Magnum?") If anything, as said previously, the AGM-122 are like almost too literally self-defense against ground targets. It's almost as if they took an A2A frame body and re-purposed it to engage ground targets. Lmao. /sarcasm EDIT: Minor additions
  10. Really? I'm hypothesizing that once you input your custom coords in you'd have to switch the knob back to BER mode then back to NAV for your Kneeboard to update. It does the same for the ELINT when you do a Recon Flight to get those pesky Sam Sites hiding in the forests. Puts them boxes around in the Kneeboard Map.
  11. That's incorrect. I am able to fire the RB04's multiple times. The RB15's are the only ones being a lil wonky. Tho they still fire first time. Just can't rearm them.
  12. For which? I have one for Openbeta and for Stable version. It's mostly Ingame Profile and a little X55 Software Profile (Just MODE 3 stuff).
  13. During a quick mission to hunt some supply ships like a flying Uboat. I loaded the pre-set loadout of Anti-Ship (RB15's and RB74 Sidewinders with an XT). A couple seconds later I switched out my load out before taxiing with 2 RB04's and 4 RB24J's while keeping the XT. Some odd number of minutes later - found my prey in the dark via Radar and expended all Anti-Ship Missiles. Upon RTB I ran into a three ship formation of Su33's 24,000 feet up. Seeing as I was behind them I climbed up like a spaceship in 4 seconds and expended the inner pylon of RB24J missiles. Then that's when the problem started. I was unable to get the other RB24J's mounted on the outer pylons to release (Though I did get a tone. A good screaming tone for 10 minutes.) Switching between NAV and ANF and Mode Selectors I was unable to release the 2 remaining RB24J's. It's also good to note that when I switched to my TAKT it displayed like this - [1] [1] [1] [1] [0] [0] - Before I released stores and it turned out like this - [1] [0] [0] [0] [0] [0] (I remember you guys mentioned something was iffy with the CK37 and how it keeps the stores which causes problems with rearming. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a picture since I went kapoot). I wasn't the only one that was infuriated. My Viggen soon got tired of it and cut out the engine with a really loud compressor stall.
  14. Are you sure? I just checked my X55 Profile using the exact same folder and found all my mappings on MODE 3. They're not on MODE 1 or 2.
  15. Eh, whoops. I must've posted the wrong one. I'll reupload the recent one when I get reunited with my computer, but in any case. The controls for my radar & maverick are all on H3 and H4 on the throttle to answer your question in the first post.
  16. The only time you should be "really" concerned with a NAV SYST warning is when you're firing a NAV dependant weapon (BK90 & RB15). Other than that your waypoints and stuff are going to be a tad off by a couple hundred meters or kilometers. Plus the drift cause Nature. There is no inflight procedure though, I think when you fly low the TERANAV (Unless you really messed up the Navigation System) should begin making corrections via Radar and Radar Altimeter by recognizing key land features. (If that's how I think it works). Though if you do get it - there was a couple things that manage to help get rid of it somehow. It happened once during in flight was when I was flying low and switched from NAV to BER and back to NAV and it disappeared. Most of the time I would land. Reference Point. Then take off again. But sometimes that didn't work. But in any case - there's not much deviation as stated above so you're gucci, just not gucci in the right place lmao.
  17. Here's my Viggen Mapping for the X-55. They're all in MODE 3, due to the simplicity of the Viggen I didn't have to input a complicated amount of buttons in MODE 2 1. (I had to for other aircrafts, but for this no need.) Some of the mappings are not on there because I mapped them in game. I'll also include my profile from the game and the software as well. (On the Throttle - H3 and H4. H4 being my Radar distance and On and Square box thing. Haven't figured that out yet. H3 is my Uncage the slew for Maverick and Radar cross as well as to Recenter and to Lock.) The Light systems are a bit bleh - need to fix it up. Viggen.rar AJS37.rar
  18. :joystick: Well I'm just following procedure, but I do agree that the HUD has no sensor for it. Still - the NAV SYST always pops up, might as well do it by the book.
  19. Lmao, breaking rules. I wheel brake all the time when thrust reverse landing. I just remind myself to throttle down or else smack my ass on the runway. Super short landing ftw. With a twisty stick you kind of Initial D down the runway tho. I got use to it. :joystick:
  20. Upon start up you should, as soon as possible, switch to NAV before you throttle up (taxi out to the runway). If it shows up when you switch to NAV you're doing it a bit too early. Wait till RHM warning light disappears and just pop it in there. Another thing is when taking off - putting up the HUD from a lowered position, align yourself as best you can to the center of the runway and then reference. (Reference won't work if your HUD is lowered) 90% of the time the NAV Syst would not pop up on the warning panel. Even when it does the deviation in your waypoints would be off by no more than a KM, depends on if you didn't do a couple steps before you hit the runway.
  21. The RBS-15F is the Mark 1 version currently in DCS. The one that can hit ground targets & water targets was the Mark 3 version. Must be a bug. (Please be a feature)
  22. Any news about the Rearming Issues with most of the weapons?
  23. Must be those sneaky lil' midgets banging around behind the Instrument Panel. Land when safe and notify your crew chief immediately. (Compressor Stall usually beyond 20 degrees of AoA and or pulling 6G's)
  24. Even with Radar on you can put a Rough Estimation of your immediate location. 1. Confirm easily recognizable location from distance. 2. Prep by pressing T1 which will turn your Waypoint into the letter E instead of a B. 3. Fly over landmark 4. Press TV FIX. 5. Press T1 to confirm/remove cross from radar.
