Thanks very much. When downloading fc3 after into DCS World how big a download is it? I imagine its a lot smaller than getting it as a stand alone sim. I'm in a location at the moment where Internet is not the fastest. Many thanks.

If one purchases this from ubisoft u-play, downloads and installs it....will this satisfy the requirement for an original installation of lock on for FC3? Thanks.

The quality of sims that this company creates is superb and I would have no problem with a higher price given the useful life of them. That said I'm glad they price as they do.......more people can afford to buy. We all win.

Buy FC3? Yes.

What do you think about P-51D and Flying Legends?

I think this aircraft will be a hoot. Many thanks for producing it. I'll bet my credit card out for it. -
Force Feedback on a Collective Stick
dbw replied to 4c Hajduk Veljko's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I flew civilian r/w for 17 years and on the aircraft I flew the controls were hydrolically boosted. There was no feedback normally......if any occured it was a hydrrolic system problem. -
My system is I7-960 (3.33), 12 gigs ram, ssd for the o/s and have BS, A10 & FC on a raptor, nvidia 580gtx - 1.5 gig. I have everything on, turned up etc and all are totally fluid, smooth. If the budget permits get the 580. I upgraded this system from a I7-920 and nvidia gtx 285 last summer as the prices on things was coming down not that it was really needed. I gave thought to the I7-9XX six core but didn't believe the cost would produce that much if any more performance. Were I to come across a 990 at a very good price I would grab it.

I will buy this. I think this could be tremendous fun. Also, given the quality of other products (A10, BS2 etc) it could be a real hoot learning how to survive. If nothing els, going for a sight seeing flight at the end of those days where you don't have enough brainpower or energy left to get into heavy duty combat. Also, out of principal I would buy to support this company. To me these are the best combat flight sims available today (and probably tomorrow). Dave in Winnipeg

colour By any chance is the manual in colour? Asking a lot at this price..... Question for the person who ordered it through Amazon....what is their price. Thanks.

miz files - What are these? How d I open them and where do I insert them in BS? I would like to get other missions/campains installed in the library. left win+home - what is left win? and which home to use? Be nice to auto start everything. Activating the trim system? Using it? Selecting different weapons and their utilization? Got to get the manual printed or buy the hard copy when it becomes available next month. Sorry if these seem like basic questions. I've got approx 5000 hours on r/w aircraft in the civilian world which helps some with physically flying the machine (no time in a coaxial rotor system though) and sometimes I think the real thing is easier! But the learning curve is interesting to say the least. The systems are very challenging.....I know.....read the manual. And trying to figure out the keystrokes etc. Links to tutorials would be most welcome. Many thanks.

I run 1920x1200 on a gaming laptop 17" screen. Very nice. Just got a 24" monitor to plug into the laptop.

I run BS on a gaming laptop.....QX9300 quad core, 4 gigs ram, ati 3870 sli (to be upgraded to 4870's when available for laptops), 7200 rpm hd x 2, 1920x1200 res, vista 64 ultimate. It works very well. Just picked up a 24" benq monitor for use when I am home.

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. Just figured it out. This sim is one incredable creation in its' complexity. Going to enjoy it. Just got it last night and have yet to print the manual. I will buy the hard cope when it's available. Very nice to have so many helpful people here. Dave

My collective no longer functions through the X52 controller. Is there a way to re-activate it? I went into controls, tried everything there I could think of....exit mision, exited the game and restarted. The collective only functions with the +/- kes on the keypad. Thanks for any help. Dave

Thanks for the replies. This is an interesting sim. Going to take some time to get good with it. I flew helicopters for 17 years and 5000 hour in the civilian world and have been waiting for a sim like this. I'm looking forward to the full manual when it is available for sale. A hearty thank you to the crew that developed Black Shark!

Hi. Just bought the english version last night. Two downloads.....the main exe and the data1.cab .....I ran the exe and Black Shark is up and running. What do I do with the data1.cab download? It's in a winzip file. Many thanks.

SKF....thanks for the replies. I just got a new laptop but decided I am going to upgrade the processor and will receive it in the next couple of weeks(can never have enough power)......Do you think that would cause a problem with the Star copy protection re a download version of FC? Just loacated an old version of LockOn but haveno idea which version it is. Thanks, Dave
-
With the download version of FC will the Star copy protection just have to be activated once? I travel up to half the year and do not wish to carry a disk, at times do not have access to the internet, so the idea of a self contained version is of interest. Did I understand correctly that the downloaand and installation of FC will appliy all patches to Lomac as well? Thanks for your time. dbw
-
I'd like to purchase the download version of Flaming Cliffs so as to not have to insert the disc into the drive for the copy protection to work. Just got a new machine with a lot more power. Is is required to have Lomac installed first before installing FC? I.E. can I just install FC buy itself? Does FC have all the aircraft, missions etc of Lockon? Trying to fire out what is required. Thanks. dbw
