  1. I just want to make clear that PointCTRL is still a WIP. While it functions well as is, It has room for improvement, and I am not satisfied with the current state. The good news is the improved functionality will be through firmware updates. Features to add or improvements 1) On the fly, fine tune cursor movement. Any time after initial calibration you will be able to fine tune the cursor to FCU movement ratio. This will significantly reduce cursor movement when the head is moved and the FCU is held still. (I had forgotten about this until Heloguys feedback and recommendations.) 2) Improved 2d comms menu functionality (Thanks Mariner) 3) APB's Auxiliary Push Buttons. two, three button banks mountable to the HMD for additional functions NVG's ect. 4) VRB's Virtual Radial Buttons 16 Hotspots just outside the perimeter of the FOV to activate, comms, FPS,Chat, Knee-boards, ect. 16 hot-spots x 3 functions = 48 possible intuitively placed functions. 5) Cursor Smoothing, ect. Thanks, Miles
  2. Now Serving Line Numbers 11 thru 20 Now Serving Line Numbers 11 thru 20 Please click this link for instructions in the first post. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3607054&postcount=1 Thanks, Miles
  3. Thanks for that info! Oh well, maybe I can make an adjustable IPD mod kit with the one I just purchased. I assume the software IPD slides each render inward and outward, Maybe that coupled with a manual adjustment would work. I have never really gotten into the weeds with the Headsets. I'm sure I will be taking it apart within 10 minutes of opening the box. On another note here is the Index Frunk mount with the Vive Pro mount for perspective. I am going forward with a new PCB design for flat face mounting unit for those that would work better for. It will be compatible with the current FCUs. Thanks, Miles
  4. I just ordered the Rift S for testing with PointCTRL, I don't think I will be able to use it with my IPD, but It should work for testing.
  5. Hope to be posting 11 thru 20 tomorrow night. I took some suggestions from you guys and edited the first post in this thread to be more informative, to include ordering instructions and "Now Serving line numbers. I will also add a blurb about PointCTRL still being a work in progress, and more of an enthusiast product than a refined commercial product for the masses. But it does work well. Most future improvements will be firmware updates. Thanks, Miles
  6. Good point, Not tested with WMR to my knowedle, Only the CV1, Vive, Vive Pro, and Pimax. The Rift S should be getting the run through the beginning of the week. As soon as I get the feedback I will report back. Does the standard mouse behave differently with WMR if your not using the controllers?. And I will edit the title as you suggest. That makes sense for the Now Serving and general information, then I could just update the first post. I contacted NineLine to see if I was breaking any rules by even using the forum in this this way, but I have not herd back. I will reach out again with what you suggested. Thanks, Miles
  7. Thanks Sephroth, Just thinking out-loud here, but it may make sense that the farther the lens is from your face the more IPD tolerant the picture is. When you eye is farther back, your central FOV will cover a larger percentage of the lens and sweet spot. Comparing that to being closer with a narrower central FOV of the lens with less of the sweet spot visible from your offset position to the center of the lens. This has probably been talked about, and again, just thinking out-load, I may be way off base here. Here is a rough illustration from what I remember about refraction. Miles
  8. Thanks, I thought so, but wanted to confirm with someone who actually tried it. I appreciate your quick response, I almost ordered it. I guess I will have to wait for the Index. Miles
  9. I have a wide IPD and max out the setting on the CV1 for a clear picture. Has anybody tried the S that used the CV1 at max IPD setting. I would really like to get the S, but I think I am out of the acceptable IPD range. Thanks, Miles
  10. No reason to pay now, Just let me know when you are ready. I will have Carol put one aside with your name on it.. Good luck with the move, and at your age, don't forget to lift with your legs. :smilewink:

  13. HP Reverb Dimensions Hey Guys, If anyone has the Reverb dimensions, I can make the HMS mount for it. I just need the Depth, width, and height per the below pic, Thanks, Miles
  14. Interesting Stuff, thanks for the PM about it. I will probably look at that for future projects. As far as PointCTRL goes, its meant to be simple and have something to actually press. The original version used 3 accelerometers and a 3d gyro for sensing the finger moving a switch. It just didn't feel right, as didn't the touch-pads or even dome switches. I am working with some different tech for future versions, but thats only if nothing better comes out before that.
  15. I'll try to ship anywhere, it looks like Australia is $28.00, about the the same as the UK
  16. Hey Oesau, Carol said she got your border we had to leave for New York City for the night she said she would invoice you when we got back This is hard to type on a damn phone
  17. FireCat!!!! That is just awesome!!!. I am doing what Harlikwin suggested and will include a link to your great post. You are the man, Miles
  18. We could never forget you Chic, also was it you that was interested in the big screen set-up for PointCTRL? Miles
  19. Rage, That would be great, I will post a pic of the Reverb with what I need to scale it. Once the model is done I will post for your review. Thank you, this is very helpful. Miles
  20. Having Los, Hansang, Mariner, and Firecat on-board is huuuuge, and sped things up so much. I had tunnel vision on so many things because I was not really flying with it much. Los, Hansang, and Mariner would point out the real world stuff I was missing. Los is always anticipating "What would the average user do", Mariner spends countless hours setting up, testing, and working through issues over the phone with me, Hansang is focused on updating documentation to ensure users don't get frustrated, and of course his awesome videos, and FireCat jumped in on his own initiative to keep everybody in "que", answers questions, or directs members where they can find the answer. I often thanked the community their support and jumping in to assist others, and while Los, Hansang, Mariner, and Firecat know I thanked them a lot privately, I want to thank them publicly, Thanks Guys, I would still be screwing around with stuff if it weren't for you. Now, I just have to deliver, and keep this train on the tracks. Miles
  21. Yea, I really need to get the web site up. The additional items are essentially spare parts. If you break an FCU case, you can just replace it. While the batteries just plug in, they are not intended to be quick change. Lipo batteries usually last at least 300 cycles depending on use. The extra batteries are for when they start to degrade. If customers have more than 1 V/R headset the then can purchase another HMS mount and micro USB cable and just switch the PCB between the two. I hope that helps. Miles

  23. Yes, I think that s a great idea. I like this thread for feedback and sharing progress its almost useless for someone like avidflyer to try and figure out the current status. I did not see an option to start a locked thread, Is that something a moderator has to do?. I will start organizing some data as you suggested and format into an single information post. The same data will be added to the PointCTRL web site wich is WIP. Thanks for the direction Harilwin, The cursor mostly stays where it is when you move your head, but its not perfect. When you move your head left and keep your hand stationary, the cursor will not follow the headset like a normal mouse. The cursor will sweep right with the rest of the cockpit until it reaches it limits. Its definitely much easier than a mouse. Thanks Miles
