  1. It happens exactly the same here - no luck on connecting to the shuttle on catapult 3, don't know if it's a bug or whatelse...
  2. In the F-14B Manual 1.0 at DCS documents, there's a brief procedure at page 188 - usually at: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F14\Docs Then there's the more detailed procedure at Chuck's F-14B manual from page 185 onwards: https://www.mudspike.com/chucks-guides-dcs/
  3. Right after your previous post "there was light in my mind" - and indeed I've been doing it all wrong from the start. ( Expecting the salute command to also work in every situation: " hey, it's just a key combo afterall... " ) @Victory205 was here a while ago, so I imagine he (and others) must have been laughing like there was no tomorrow : " This armchair pilot / sim nugget / virtual wannabe never imagined the Carrier catapult launch command at night is done via exterior lights signals. " ... yep, there are shameful days like this my friends... I'm turning in my wings like Cougar did.
  4. ... but it is exactly the same I use and works on day / good weather conditions ?
  5. Very good, now it makes more sense to land in reasonable daylight conditions, as it is possible to see the runway. Obrigado!
  6. Yep, besides the fact that: at night (bad weather ?) even the other catapults that allow the shuttle to connect with the launch bar don't obey the "shift + U" command... which hinders the launch impossible...
  7. Edited missions (mostly at night / bad weather) of the Case 1 Recovery with the Forrestal, did cause permanent freezes on my PC for 3 times already. (No ctrl + alt + delete, or other key combos do work.)
  8. I do mostly single player, and sometimes even in a simple Instant Action mission (Carrier landing) I might get stutters, running on: i7 4790K ; 16 GB DDR 3 ; GeForce GTX 1660ti ; Samsung 860 QVO SSD. Having said that, I intend to eventually acquire more modules like the AH-64, EF 2000, MiG-29 (full fidelity), South Atlantic, etc. ... if however in the upcomming times my PC starts getting too overloaded to play DCS, I'll probably take a brake as I can not aford a new one in the near future : 'reasonable' hardware is getting absurdly expensive.
  9. No joy. Tried it on several spots, (further aft / fwd on the shuttle - as in image below), but when pressing the "U" key it jusn't doesn move and connect with the launch bar. The 'mini' Jet Blast Deflector does come only when requesting permission to take-off command also. When advancing to anyother catapult their shuttle works with no problems...
  10. Hello, Exactly how much close: should the wheels cover the entire shuttle (from side view); just half of it; a little a little further back ?
  11. The shuttle for Catapult 3 doesn't connect with the F-14 when pressing the key "U"; all the other shuttles seem to work fine though.
  12. The old catpult launch stuck issue persists with the CV-59 Forrestal also. https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/202461-bug-f-14-wont-launch-from-carrier-all-parameters-met/page/2/ In my case it seems to be with edited mission in bad weather (almost night / rain). With good weather / day, the catpult does launch the F-14 promptly without any issues after saluting... With CVN-74 John Stennis happens the same.
  13. Yeah, I'm still thinking if I understood well your doubt... you do have access to the Forrestal but can not edit anything related to it; or you don't have access to it ? Because like @Esac_mirmidon said, you need to have the last Open Beta version to access the Forrestal: DCS 2.7.7.14727 Open Beta (from last Wednesday)...
  14. I don't know if your issue is this, but it is possible to EDIT the Instant Action mission - Case 1 recovery (where the Forrestal is also), tipically they are at: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F14\Missions\QuickStart
  15. Yep, I must also agree, those pics tell everything.
  16. I'll give it another try then...
  17. Noticed some FPS drop and stutters when very near the Forrestal / few seconds before touch down at the runway. (It seems a little bit more resource intensive than the John C. Stennis carrier.)
  18. Installed the latest Open Beta version, and truth to be told I didn't manage to brake any wings in the F-15 yet, like somebody mentioned already ?
  19. Sure, I don't doubt it, and I really like the 'classic era' feeling this ship portrays, details like for instance the island placed roughly at midship. I just wasn't used to the fact that, the Forrestal is indeed a somewhat darker ship in real life when comparing with other Carriers. Causing that, unless landing aboard with clear skies, I couldn't easily differentiate when does the top of the deck (runway) begins and the stern of the ship ends - favoring that in certain conditions there could occur a ramp strike. ... and I don't want to get killed, so I'm turning in my wings like Cougar did.
  20. I stand corrected: - the default Instant Action mission (Case 1 recovery on the CVN Forrestal, does have a cloudy sky on January - which hinders visibility); - after editing this mission, to clear skies in June, the CVN Forrestal's runway and structures do become considerably sharper and clearer.
  21. Yep, indeed the bold it's true unfortunatelly. From less than 1 mile away on the glideslope it looks somewhat like a dark blur, even in good climate conditions and with 2.0 gamma settings. Not very practical for me...
  22. In that case... Everything is very fine and dandy, what I would like to know is, when will a Central / Eastern Europe map (Germany, Berlin Wall, etc) be available ?
  23. I see... I thought the discount would end completely as soon as the product is released for the first time. Thank you.
  24. Hello everyone, Never bought anything in early-access, but allow me the question: until when is the early-access 30 % price discount supposed to last ? ( Which is, to the very last day before the early-access release? ) Thank you.
