  1. Well I am recently unemployed and have a nice web hosting service just taking up space, so I decided to make a fan / file sharing DCS site. Registered users will be able to upload / download files. This is similar to what LockOnFiles has. In fact I talked to Thomas over at LockOnFiles and he is happy to see another site being put together. I just recieved news that they are going to change my domain name for me now so I have removed the link to the site and once I have the new one set up I will post it here.
  2. And if not this community has a lot of modders, and I would bet money that someone will create one to improve them :)
  3. Thanks for sharing!!! Nice pics
  4. Now that's NoE!!:P
  5. Rotoray for me all the way :clap_2:
  6. I got this of the main site...
  7. Curiosty question.... Why do most of the "big time" FS events take place in Europe?
  8. Actually I don't care to have it as a flyable. I would prefer a CH-47D or E myself. But they have a soft spot in my heart. ;) As for it dominating the battlefield.... it would be able to hold it's own, but from talking to the test pilots, most of them actually preferred the older Cobra models. A LOT of the technology in the Z is just unreliable right now. Of course this will be improved and systems will become more reliable over time, it's a process. The dual role cockpit is handy, and it can be very nice if one of the pilots is incompacitated during flight. The new controller looks like it was directly taken from the Playstation too. It was rumored during engineering stages that they acually used a PS controller to get the right "feel" for it. lol
  9. While digging around through some of my photos I came across some AH-1Z photos. I took some of these when I was working on the program, and the others came from friends of mine working on the program. Enjoy :) These are just a few of the literally thousands I have lol
  10. I did some research and I was kind of wrong. lol The multi-mission AH-64D Apache Longbow is the next-generation version of original AH-64A Apache. With its fire-control radar, the aircraft is known as the AH-64D Apache Longbow. Without the radar, the combat-proven aircraft is called the AH-64D Apache. Both are D models, so same internal set up, but the addition of the radar actually does give it the name Longbow. Sorry for the misunderstanding on my part. :) There are some other additions to the longbow you can see from the link below. BTW I got this information here..... http://www.boeing.com/rotorcraft/military/ah64d/index.htm
  11. Not to worry, you speak better english then a lot of people I know. :megalol:
  12. @ Sundowner: Did you know that the new "Z" model cobra will not be able to use the Tow Missiles? I actually worked on the Z model prototypes and they are removing that feature. Instead they will be hellfire dependent, or at least that was the road they were heading down when I left the program. I'll see if I can't dig up some of my unclassified info on the Z model for ya. :)
  13. If I remember right, a "longbow" does not have to have the mast on the rotor. Longbow referes more to the avionics and flight systems within the helicopter. I have some pics of longbows from when I was in the army and they were using Kiowa Warriors for their eyes. They did not have the mast, but they were still considered longbows.
  14. Thanks for the answer EvilBivol :)
  15. Thank you Groove!
  16. Just curious if the Developer's journal on the main page will be used? I think this is an excellent idea and would be awesome to help keep the community informed of what's going on without having to dig through hundreds of forum posts. :)
  17. Thanks to everyone for the good information. This will all be very helpful.
  18. LOL, I was thinking the same thing. :megalol:
  19. This is great news
  20. Good question... and also, is there going to be a skinning template released?
  21. Thanks! :)
  22. I would like to take a step back from all the question asking and mind probing to say THANKS to all the testers and developers that have taken the last couple days to put up with our bombardment of questions. You guys really show the community a lot of support and I just want to say THANK YOU!!! Keep up the good work. !S :pilotfly:
  23. Thanks for clearing things up.:)
