Hi all, is it possible to manually switch smoke pods on and off for AI that i have following me in formation? I have equipped the AI with pods but am struggling to get them to work. I have tried the trigger method, but seem to get it wrong in the last of the 3 columns.. i only seem to be able to select 'smoke marker on unit' and that just triggers puffs of smoke from the jets within the trigger zone. Any help would be amazing. Thanks!

I have the x-55 and i love it. It might be made of plastic, but Its very solid and heavy and you kinda have to look at it to remind you its not metal or something similar. I've never used a warthog before so im not too sure what thats like? For my level of flight sim gaming i feel quite privileged to own the x-55. Im not too sure what huex27 means by the throttle rotaries flicker? they seem quite normal to me and i love it. but this is just my experience with the x-55. I guess no matter what you buy you will always adapt and get used to it. I couldnt stand the xbox controller until i bought an xbox.

so finally i got past the 2gig update and now im stuck with another... its 348meg and sitting at about 8.5kbs ..... whats going on?

http is just the same speed for me. hovering around 10kbs. I canceled my torrent download after 6 hours and only half way... now im back to square one. I thought it would start off from where i canceled but its back to the beginning?

was that smoke?

Hi all, Firstly sorry if im posting in the wrong thread! ...i usually do. So I bought a plane key from my good friend (i know personally) he unbound it from his account and gave me the serial numbers. Its for the 101-C. For me to install the plane I had to download the beta 101-C from the ED website and it would only let me install the plane to 1.2 not 1.5? I thought ok, once i do that then i can get a update to 1.5 once its installed to 1.2 hopefully? The plane installed into 1.2 no problem. When I selected the 101-C in 1.2 it asked for a activation key... i provided that and sure enough it worked! I can even use it online in 1.2 However when i goto the 1.2 module manager it appears in my installed list but says 'no key' where the serial number should be. Also on my account on the ED website, it shows that i don't own the 101-C and it dosn't appear in the 1.5 module manager either. Nothing shows in 1.5? but it works in 1.2 and 1.2 online? If i goto the licence serial number check page on ED forum it shows that the plane is not bound to anyone. Im very confused! Any advice would be great! i can provide more info if needed.

Yep forcing the update worked thank you! The instructions were quite easy to follow too. Also seemed to be quite fast from me (parts of Australia has the worst internet in the world) I got a constant 163kb/s Another thing i noticed was it didn't torrent the update... kinda seems like a direct download using this method? If people are pulling out their hair, maybe try the force update method? Thanks for the tips ironhand, thats very kind.

I canceled the update, then canceled again when it went to http as i needed to check something in the game. Once i restarted the game again the update wouldnt start again? I even went to the updater .exe and still nothing? Anyone know whats happened? Ta!

Someone answered me in another post... heres how. go to your saved games folder C:\Users\"YOURNAME"\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\config and CREATE a file called "autoexec.cfg" with notepad++ ( download for free on the net ) or wordpad, do NOT use Editor as it handles CLF differently ( end of line stuff ). In that new file type this in the first line and hit enter at end-of-line: options.graphics.maxfps = 143; for example if you want 143fps max, any other value that FITS your monitor specs' dynamic range and refresh rate.
