I am looking for websites with F-14 pictures, can you help?
ineth replied to Akatsuki's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
If you wish to study the F14 or any plane or vehicle i strongly suggest you get a plastic scale model and make it. The bigger the model the more detail you will get out of it. I strongly suggest Hasegawa for 1:72 or TAMIYA for 1:48 You will never find better reference then this. Trust me. http://www.hasegawausa.com/product-pages/hsgs7246.html http://hsgalleries.com/images/f14amz_5.jpg Some ideas..... Fly safe. -
Pre-diluted oil at mission start with low OAT
ineth replied to AJaromir's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Did not knew about this. Interesting. I must say it would be great to have a preflight enviroment on ramp or hangar (or tent in the case of vintage planes) so we can do all pre flight checks, like fuel quantity, oil anf fuel check, fuel water check, tire airpressure, pitot tube defrost and more. This would add a bit in the immersion. Also i would not mind while in mission planer to have a background enviroment semivisible over a screen ona desk and enviroment noises. The load screens could also have various immersive video or simple overview from the tower of the airport we are operating. I must add i feel bad for asking for anything though. I am here for a short while and the responsiveness and vigilant forum masters have earned my respect. Question though, how does the bought P51 module compare to the free one? oh and.... HAPPY NEW YEAAAAAAAAR :smilewink: -
Happy New Year all....

Very well put. I miss the days we had hardprinted manuals in the big boxes we carried home giving us something to read in the bus. From all the sims i remember the most ofc Falcon 4.0, Flight of the intruder witch also had a copy of the book and the Manual from the A320 on the Amiga. It had the basic, relatively small manual and a yellow pages sized book with all airport charts from Europe from Jeppesen and an assortment of high altitude IFR charts. As for the A10C manual, i suggest you print it out by yourself using spiral holes to bind it witch makes it allot easier to read. Instead of the spirals though i use cable ties. They never break loose and look cool as a bible out of a Mad Max film. HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS

Please keep us informed regarding your process. I will sub to this thread due to this topic since i plan to get a tracking device in the near future and i believe in supporting people in their efforts. If you wish i can seed some verbal advertising for it in the EvE online forums as well. Have a nice day.

This is what i am saying for days now and people tossing charts and diagramms as an argument. Agreed. They look fine. But..... The M2000 make good use of the thin air due to the superior lift, low drag and good aerodynamic shape in all. At lower altitudes they would normaly make good use of the extra lift too, but a plane with excess power can slowly overrun it and get in a position of advantage. It seems the only thing that will determine the outcome is the power. I can see a plan with canards use high alphas to turn the tables and this makes us look suspicious on the Israeli site. Does it not? If you are thinking Delta planes with excess of power you are probably going to think of EF2000 and Raphal's. On the other side though, being quite for a long time a magazine rat i remember a certain F16 known as F16XL. And what i will do now is toss some food for thought in this thread. I remember reading that after the operations in Libya NATO urged for homologation with all NATO planes for the Brimstone since its performance was in a word MINDBLOWING. Well it certainly blew more things up then just minds...... mind you. :D ps iirc there were issues with the source code for various types though. i could be wrong here, it is a piece of info i got in a misty corner of my brain.

The best line i read in these forums so far. Very well put. As a matter of fact i believe that the entire non combat part of..... combat is by far more rewarding or at least is what makes combat rewarding at all. Fly safe!

Harriers...... Well i would say that jumb jets are truly something that would complete this game. Can you imagine flying low in Caucasus with a Harrier? The last time i flew one was in a game that was based around a campaign in Timor. A7 is a personal loved one for me, but the F15E is going to bring allot of new people in game, though this means we are going to need smt to counter its awesomeness like the Su35 or Mig29 PUK maybe? Now lets focus a bit..... Regarding the F15 Epsilon If we are talking about a fully simulated model with clickable cockpit and all bells and whistles we can think off this would mean that: 1: It would be the most complete experience ever simulated in any game. 2: The Level of complexity would mean it would be the most demanding Plane for the Player-Pilots (Imagine the F16 of Falcon with the A10C of DCS^2 most probably) 3: It would mean that it would be the most flexible plane regarding available weapon availability (hopefully) and versatility. 4: It would work as a HUGE Lure for new players. I could only hope for the capability of a mission where we could deliver a tactical Nuke. This would truly draw immense, needed, attention

SOURCE: I used to be in an editor as a Motorcycle magazine, and sustained a freelance relation to various Magazines in Greece and there were several journalist symposiums. Loving Defence matters i hang out allot with the guys from Military magazines. From articles i remember reading and from talking with those people what i can say is: The Hellenic Air Force is using both types for decades now. The general conclusion is that on higher altitudes the M2000 reigns supreme. Simply as that. The problem starts on lower altitudes where the engine does not perform as well as the engines of the F16s and in sustained high g's it will loose eventually. I know of several events, from the aforementioned source, and the news that this was proven to test vs Greek F16s and Turkish ones. The conclusion is always the same. on high altitudes the M2000 are scrambled for interceptions, when it goes in dogfights our neighbors try to pull the fight at lower altitudes and usually this is the time when the readiness F16s take off. The F16 IS much more flexible as a weapons platform so the M2000 is used only for Air Superiority, Anti ship missions and for launching Cruise Missiles. As i said before. If you can afford only one type. The F16 cannot be beaten. As a combo though, this is truly a good one. Proven! Fly safe all.

i remember it, this was no toss in the dark comment wise

OMG i have read Magazine articles on good magazines that had way less information about allmost any subject. i THANK YOU very much for your time to write this information.:thumbup::thumbup: Greek/German origin. Gün Aydin neigbour (i am greek btw) I cannot answer your question but i would like to point out two facts: 1: People we would like to ignore tend to ask questions we would never ask ourselves. At times this can be very informative. 2: Gold is hidden deep, under tons of sludge. (Sun Tzu) example.... i know very little russian and i cannot read kyrilic, but having a sneak peak at the russian forum once in a while gives out ALLOT of info. (Especialy on woman and Votca though) :D Good landings brother Greek/German origin. Flying sims since 1984. Using computers since 1977. Replay or no Replay, this is the question

Hello my friend. For FSX, if you plan to use REX and the best add ons Aerosoft and the lot got to offer i suggest an i7 quad core@4-4.5 2X4 gigabytes RAM for DCS an i5 should cut it as for Falcon i used to run it on a Pentium so..... For a motherboard i would aim for a sub 100euro one with ease of overcloacking in mind. A 256 SSD is strongly suggested. I got the Samsung EVO and love it. I suggest you get also a USB hub with intepentant power. A simple DVD burner And the rest of the sum you can afford i would use for a graphics card as high as your pain threshold allows you too. This will also determine the PSU you will need. Now, you probably got a fixed sum in your mind. Let me ask you: Are you prepared to upgrade every second year? NO, you are not. So you probably plan to keep the PC for 6-8 years. A 1000 euro PC will play well for 2-3 years all of the above. After that you will reconsider your parts, protocols will have changed and you will have to rethink a new purchase. My advice is the following: Plan ahead. Get a high end PC with a 6-8 years plan. This thinking served me since i started using computers in 1977. OFC until the end of the 80s technology kept us allways on fast tracks. This i must addmit is me thinking for max detail on every resolution possible. i wish you safe landings and lots of joy. PS (if i do not make much sense its OK. i am Greek, we are not allways rational.)

An opinion.... It is nice to see the level of the Simmers in here but here is one simple fact. If you think you should fly the F15 because it sustains more g's do so. Take the powerhorse easy way out and fly a wonderful plane and rule the skies. What you fail to understand is that the M2000 was not designed with the F15 as an opponent in mind and even if the Soviet counterparts outperformed it too, if and in anyway, the M2000 was the labor of France and Dassault so that they stay unattached and dependent on foreign manufacturers for matters regarding their own national safety. It is true that several other planes seem to have superior performance and weaponry (i would take an Excocet carrying M2000 over any Harpoon carrier on any given day though) but be warned. A dedicated hardcore M2000 pilot is going to perform a wonderful touchdown returning to base while the casual powerjokey on F15s or Su27s will keep trying to figure out how with sustained 9ers and flawless performance charts they ended up hanging on the underside of a chute. ps If Dassault never had made the M2000 we would not have the Rafale today, and that gentleman, is what it is. And it is Brilliant. Fly safe. Greek/German origin. Flying sims since 1984. Using computers since 1977. OK Also mall sehen. Flying sims since 1984. well it is not totaly wrong i guess. I remember from Falcon 4.0 manual the F16 reached 9g between 340 to 460 knots iirc. Since puling hard bleeds speed sooner or later you ended up near 6g at best. The Flanker with its 2 engines should be able to better that by a bit. Not certain about the exact numbers nor about the actual performance envelope of the Su27. Fly safe.

First of all Seassons Greedings to all. While i am new to DCS i am flying sims since 1984. While i was very impressed of the smoothness and detail of the replays i got after each mission i could not rewind the video to a previous event and so i had to rewatch the video with time acceleration to that point. I tried to have a look in the DCS dokumentation about how i can rewind the replay but i must say i did not find anything with this. Any help, input, is appreciated. :helpsmilie: Happy Flights.
