  1. That, and more importantly, full braking in aircraft without anti-skid is generally going to result in... wait for it... skidding.
  2. Waiting for the GIGABYTE GTX 760 4GB to arrive at my door. Pretty excited, sounds like it's a good pick. I went with 4GB for media applications.
  3. Doubt you'll find any SU-25 pilots to answer, but aircraft tend to work in predictable ways so I think I can help you. In a real airplane, we trim to relieve control pressures. This means you will HOLD the aircraft in a desired attitude, then trim while releasing pressure until you do not have to hold the aircraft there anymore. DO NOT "fly with trim," which is to use the trim control to adjust attitude. You're falling prey to the aircraft's natural stability tendency. (In this case, what is known as the phugoid mode, long-period stability, or dynamic stability.) If you displace an aircraft, over a relatively long period of time (30 seconds to multiple minutes,) it will undergo gradually decreasing oscillations of altitude. Aircraft equipped with a automatic trimming system may feature little to no phugoid mode, and simulator aircraft with simplified or poor flight models may not display this. The SU-25 in DCS does, and you will have to account for that. The good news is, knowing is half the battle, so you should be roughly half-way there! :smilewink: To solve this problem I would recommend "testing" your trim applications with small, momentary releases of control pressure as you trim, but remember that you MUST control the aircraft's attitude to achieve the desired effect. If you want to trim for level flight, hold a pitch attitude that corresponds with level flight. That's the nature of the beast. We teach pilots to build a habit of correct and constant trimming because that's the way 99% of the world's aircraft must be flown. As your experience level increases, you will hopefully find that it becomes instinctive. Primarily, you should be re-trimming for airspeed and weight changes. (read: dropped stores) Let me know if this helps, it's a potentially deep subject and I was forced to leave many gaps as I head for work.
  4. Thanks for the transparency and quick reply, Luthier!
  5. Luthier, can you shed some more light on the purpose for restricting the SDK? Will this be specifically for DCS:WWII purposes, or will 3rd parties be able to create sceneries unbound by the WWII theme? I like what you're saying, I just want to see an improvement of the simulator as a whole.
  6. No! Ewwww Blender. :smilewink:
  7. I wouldn't spend $100 to. Some of us are not able to just fling a hundred dollars around, financially. If you want good content, don't limit good developers. If this means that terrain created for DCS WWII will work with other aircraft in DCS World, I'll back this project.
  8. Please search a little harder, the answer is in a sticky thread. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=86205
  9. Hi Mizzy. (Welcome back!) The DCS P-51 has a fantastic flight model, but to a greater degree than past ED products, you might find that you need to adjust your control setup for comfort. Rest assured, it is a very high quality realistic product, and does what it should do! :)
  10. It's people playing a game.
  11. OK. Your syntax should not be the problem. Skate, what you're suggesting is wrong, as far as I know. This: {self_ID,'ws_type',old = R} is self_ID, DLL name, and then some other setup things. No idea what this old = R thing is.
  12. Do you have an external flight model DLL called Il-76md? If not, this won't work. For SFM, you need: make_flyable('Il-76MD',current_mod_path..'/Cockpit/',nil, nil)

    Eye Candy

Actually this shows a LOT for modelers and sticklers for accuracy. Tim is one of the best around.
  14. You guys are cracking jokes but you have to appreciate the challenge of releasing new content. If you're not aware, it takes time to get a new feature to "beta" status in the first place. A certain amount of testing has to happen internally beforehand.
  15. Come now, read again. He posted that link to prove you were making up numbers... that there are, in fact, more than the 12 you claimed. He's discrediting you, and doing so effectively. Don't make it easier by pushing this.
  16. Welcome to the "club," prepare for the media sh**-storm! :D
  17. These were all "horrible posts" until the interesting information about Russia's MiG-31s. Thanks, NOLA. Some of us are reading and comprehending. :D
  18. 3rd party content creation can be an uphill battle. Hard to blame them.
  19. Because I own it? As a long-time simmer, content developer, Hornet enthusiast, and pilot; I have made a personal judgement of the VRS Super Hornet. It's a great attempt to make FSX into something it's not, but that's about it. Herculean effort better spent elsewhere. Seven G is a far superior technical representation of the Hornet/Super Hornet, and ED's product will most likely be even better. Do be aware that ED and Coretex Designs are completely separate entities, and their Hornet/Super Hornet are not related projects. It's worth noting that ED's modules will almost always be superior, because they have the ability to adjust the engine to suit their needs. (No offense, Coretex Designs.) 3rd parties must generally use existing methods.
