I bet for something closer to 700$ At least not less then 500$ without the grip. You forgot about the fact that price of device is not only the price of containing parts - it is price of workforce, salary of management, marketing costs, taxes, licenses and other costs. And finally - profit. You did not count it. Thrustmaster ava base cost €279.99.And it is normal conventional spring loaded base. WinWing Orion2 MFSSB $389.90 for force sense.... No way FFB will cost less even from China company.

Heavy - yes. Frickin Huge? hmmm. It is not so much bigger than Rhino. I would question all this topic another way. I would say that those devices are just different, and for different types of simmers. It is like discussing downsides of light fast racecar or downsides of heavy load track. There is no much sense to compare them, because them are engineered just for different tasks and purpose. The same there. The right question should be - Which device is right for you!? Because those devices are just for different kinds of simmers. I do not consider FFBeast to be device for everybody. It was not intended to be. It was developed for those who want to have high force on the stick. And some other parameters were compromised to reach that goal. If you do not need high forces on stick, if you do not plan mount it firmly on some stable surface or in rigid cockpit, if you do not use longer extensions and heavy grips, if you do not need extra "hardcore" in your flightsimming experience - probably FFBeast is just not a device for you. I believe that there are a lot of people with different expectations and wishes. And one device could not fulfill all expectations. More different devices just make different people more happy. And the more happiness in the world - the better

Man. You opened my eyes! I was thinking that it is just because some trim applied at start! In next release of firmware I will implement center offset for modules with non symmetric travel on pitch forward and backward
-
What exact problem with trim is there? I tried and it works normally as for me. The FM is not twitchy on it's own. You are right that it requires small inputs, because Mossquito has HUGE elevator control surfaces. But to produce small input you need to have resistance immediately near the center. As in reality because of big air load on elevator you just can not deflect stick much. No curves. Linear response. First time in Mosquito. Heavy Thrustmaster grip on 200mm extension.

Which exact product you are asking about? FFBeast is not single specific device. It's concept of using components freely available on the market to build FFB joystick or FFB wheel. You can check how I was reviving FFB from zero to understand where it comes from and maybe my motivation around it. What I found from all my experiments(using different motors from hobby grade to industrial motors) - cogging is something that is determined by motor and not from other components (including software). Cogging is present on every single BLDC motor on the market. it is the problem with which way more advanced engineers are fighting for years already. But what is important - is a proportion of cogging force to the max force. And I would say howerboard motor is extremely god in that ratio. With 0 force applied when motor is freewheeling with reducer 1:3 at full length stick (45cm from center of rotation to point of measurement) cog force is present and is around 10 gramms. With 10+ kg of peak force it is less then 0.1%. When even slight spring force is applied (50 grams and more) - it completely mask cogs. That's why I asked you if you used it. Because I consider as feedback something that person who uses product gives from first hand. Not a an opinion about opinion. No, I'm not happy. And constantly changing it. But for people who use it and see how to improve. That's why I asked if you at least downloaded software and opened it to see how it works But I'm not. That's why I have discord with tone of discussions what exactly could work differently and why

You do not need curves with ffb. Just set all linear and that's all. Even more. You should set all linear to have correct ffb with correct trim
-
Ahhh.. userS. Ok then Continue to believe in what you want to beleave
-
In any case. The only option to get FFBeast base quickly if you decide it now - building it DIY. Waitlist is already big enough and lead time will be huge.... but everything needed for DIY is available on the market.
-
You can download it and check. Ui works without device.
-
Why do you think i need to adapt something of it? I have msfs support Have you used FFBeast software? At least opened it?
-
Not all I produce a little bit more conservative 35Nm joysticks.
-
You will not find it right now. As Rhino produced already good number, FFBeast is just on it's starting line and not so many users have those devices .

Did anyone try the FFBeast Force Feedback Joystick?
propeler replied to Celestiale's topic in Input Devices
In any case I develop my own controller with additional e-stop circuit. It will not be useless in any case -
Joystick for small hands. Virpil Alpha with ext or VKB MCG with ext?
propeler replied to AngleOff66's topic in Input Devices
MCG not for small hands. Check VKB Kosmosima. It is really very compact grip with excelent functionality. -
That's the exact problem. Not the size of dots, but visibility in transition zone from dot to model. In 2.8 dot size was perfect in VR (for me at least) and there was no questions. And I'm sure it's only mater of size tuning. But there was(and exists) a problem on distances when dot disappears. Plane just becomes invisible. No mater on sky background or on ground background. There is a dot, then bigger dot, then bigger...... then dot disappears and you see nothing. And it is a problem.

Например: struct { float forceGradient; // kg per unit of stick travel float centerOffset; float shakingFrequency; float shakingMagnitude; } Или что-то подобное по трем осям, которое можно будет взять методом из Lua скрипта. Нам много не надо

Force Feedback Feature Set - Plans for Expansion ?
propeler replied to Phantom_Mark's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Not official. Calculating forces from telemetry. Unfortunately we will not get it until some big players enter the FFB joystick world. It does not make a lot of sense to support FFB for couple of DIY builders. And as for me standard Direct X FFB is a bit outdated protocol. It does not allow to utilize what is possible now on hardware side. I would better have just more data available in telemetry to build proper FFB. Several factors about hardware(at least max torque) need to be taken into consideration BEFORE force calculation. FFB calculated for weak Sidewinder device is dull and empty on powerfull FFB device with 10kg force on the grip level. It lacks details and nuances. And yep. FFB need to be done on module level, so ED could not do much there. -

Actually current firmware supports couple more effects that are in the list above. And there are some in work now. Here you can see some effect settings -
Force Feedback Feature Set - Plans for Expansion ?
propeler replied to Phantom_Mark's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
On my joystick most of it implemented. 1. yes 2. roll yes, joint bumps hardly possible even if to implement natively. It is only texture feature. 3. in work 4. in work 5. in work 6. yes 7. yes 8. yes. It works for all planes -
Пока что мне никто не сказал что на FFB надо меньше усилия . З.Ы. Может таво, как-то соберем на FFB джой и отправим в ED. Я б мог это и сам сделать если бы был адресс в Европе. Я могу только по Европе выслать.

will it have FFB from the initial release (early or access I presume)?
propeler replied to peachmonkey's topic in DCS: La-7
I think less then 0.001% But are there -
Full throw, FFB, realistic forces up to 12Kg force on stick.
