And when will this new damage model be out? :)
-
Unsure if this has been said before, but is this compatible with VR? I mean, in VR, are we able to just put the kneeboard where we want to? Like, for instance, on our virtual knee (insane, uh? ^^), so we just have to look down to read the kneeboard? Thanks

Isn't 2700 a bit over the green curve? I thought in cruise we should have manifold and rpm into the green curve. If I remember well, 2700 is one or two ticks above the green curve.

More than the Huey?

Thanks. Will check the handbook ^^ I never really was into mission editors, usually I fly already created ones ;)

Hi, Is there a way in the mission generator to create random encounters, that could or could not occure? The goal would be for instance to do a patrol mission, and maybe there will be enemies coming, but with their number unknown, and maybe no enemy at all. A bit like a real patrol, as I guess in wars planes on patrol do not always encounter enemies. The same with bomber escort, there may be enemy planes attacking, but that is not 100% sure. Thanks

I know I ordered those but I wait for milan to design his combat plates to get them :)
-
The thing that stop me to do the same is that I don't have pedals yet, so I can't use the modules in a good way :)
-
Can you stop arguing and just jump into your planes and end the talking with your guns? :)
-
I would take the p51 just because it is an American plane, and I would not be on German side in ww2 :) Though maybe one day I'll buy German planes as well just for versatility :) But what I want is a corsair, a pacific map, to be in the skin of papy boyington...

Maybe one day we will get a flight sim that behaves like a mmorpg with thousands of players around the world and real time missions with a persistant universe, a world active 24/24 with bombers going on their mission with escort planes, and so on, so this will be the most realistic missions we can have, if the enemy do not know when there will be an attack and therefore has to do patrols, patrols that sometimes are pointless and sometimes not. A bit like eve online in zero security space, but not in space, and a flight sim... :)

I doubt FPS you got is really VR dependant. They both have the same resolution, therefore you should have about the same FPS in the rift or the vive...

I'm 45, I wear glasses, though I do not have his issues, and can use VR really well. And I find the HTC Vive a lot more comfortable than the rift for glass wearers like me...

Hi, With the HTC Vive, I can play just fine in cockpit, but when I switch to an outside view (when I crashed, or when I'm killed, or when I'm on the ground and want to see my plane) my fps drop a lot and this is a real slideshow. Any idea why, and how I can fix this? Thanks

How to make a quick mission for the TF-51D?

Pfft cheaters :) Too bad they do not have the same need as we do... -
How to make a quick mission for the TF-51D?

Thanks will try... -
Hi, I know this is the P51-D forum, but I do not own the plane yet, and just wanted to check out how I can evade another WW2 plane, as I'll not be able to shoot back... So, first my question, is it possible to have as AI opponent a plane we do not own, like a german 109 or 190? Then, I cannot use the quick mission generator, as it usually puts me with modern planes I have no chance against. So, now, how do I create an easy mission like a dogfight with another WW2 plane? Thanks

I practice with the TF-51D as well for real life training ;) Yesterday evening I have read a chapter of my flight lessons, then I practised landing a few times in the TF-51D ^^ Sure should be better to practice in x-plane with the robin DR400 as this is the plane I fly IRL, but x-plane does not support VR, so... ^^

I should add, a random between X and Y values (not too far one from another), and maybe a % of chance to do a critical damage that will for instance double or triple the damage and that would mean a lucky shot on a critical part...

What's this thing about pacific theatre? I have heard about normandy and nevada, not about pacific... My favorite modules as well :) Though I do not own the P51D yet, only the version without weapons for now, so I just learn to fly, not to fight yet ^^

The only time I run DCS World in 2D, is when I have to change setups or controls and have to use the saitek profiler for that as well... But indeed, once we taste the VR, impossible to go back to a flat screen again... I even stopped flying in x-plane just because of that :) The only flight sim I fly in 2D is star citizen, as it does not handle VR yet, and I fly DCS and elite in VR... So amazing to be IN the cockpit. And with modern HOTAS we can put all common shortcuts on the HOTAS, and use the in cockpit switches for the less common ones... I use an HTC Vive and an X55 HOTAS. About the screen door effect, I never noticed that, but maybe this is because I wear glasses, therefore I'm used to not have a good peripheral vision. And do you know that you can map the center key on your hotas too? ^^ I have mapped the ESC key on my throttle to easily find the menu, I guess I'll try to map this one as well (will check if I can map with the X55 a short press for the menu and a long press for centering). In bold for you above :)
-
In a real aircraft, even if there is no centering thing, there is kinda one. I mean, with the forces around the aircraft, if the weather is calm and the plane trimmed, you can release the stick and it does not move, more or less. This is not what happens in an helicopter though, but it happens in a plane. We can't mimic that in a flight sim, except with a force feedback stick, and there is near no more force feedback stick on the market... with current computer flight sticks, either the stick stays centered all the time (normal behaviour) or if you have a stick with no spring, it will fall on a side if you release it...

You mean AI is cheating and has no such limit? :)
-
Is it like that in real P51? I mean, the engine overheats fast as well in a matter of seconds? I guess we should avoid as well rpm and map above the red line...

btw the mustang has 4 or 5 levels of flaps. Each level of flap is what? 10°? The robin has 2 levels of flaps, up, 1 and 2, dunno what degree it is, but with the robin we usually takeoff with 1 level of flap, and land with all flaps down. (and we takeoff on a quite large and long runway jets can use ^^) And thanks for the infos
