  1. I have noticed something in the cold start mission, is that it does not ask to put oxygen on. Isn't it mandatory? In the PDF I have about this plane, this is part of the start procedure...
  2. And the advantage of nose wheel steering is that this allows the plane to turn faster than a plane without?
  3. To me, trackIR works better in DCS than in x-plane, for instance. In x-plane and trackIR, you can move IN your seat or behind, or move your head outside the plane ;)
  4. I'm running DCS in triple screen (three 1920x1080 screens) mode, I have about 30 fps, and I find it smooth...
  5. Thanks again. Pfff we have to pay to download it :) This one is also wonderful, good quality, though for the E variant I have read... http://aviationshoppe.com/manuals/f-86_flight_manual/f-86.html?pageNumber=
  6. So, you just have to keep the target in the center of the crosshair and fire? This is how it works? And checking if you're not out of range, but if I'm out of range the enemy plane will be so small I'll not fire anyway :)
  7. Thanks. And do we have info about how works this normal trim switch? btw this scan, where does it come from? And thanks for the link, QuiGon, interesting reading ;)
  8. I was, I'm not anymore, I'll sell my wheel. No time to practice enough and to race at given hours, so now I'm doing mostly flight sims and other kind of games...
  9. Hi, I was following the pdf of the sabre guide, but there is something I don't understand... 1. The guide says to unlock mechanical cage, ok. Unsure what it does exactly, but it changes the big aiming by a small one. 2. Then I have to hold electrical cage. And then what? Do I have to point the enemy plane with the aiming crosshair before releasing the electrical cage button? And now? I see a moving aiming that tries to lock at the target. But what is the effect of this aiming crosshair? To show where I should shoot so with the moving target the bullets will hit? Is this a bit like in space simulation where you have an aiming crosshair that shows you where to aim so with the target movement your bullets will hit? Is there a more in depth fighting tutorial for the sabre somewhere? I was able to hit my target even without that in the instant action mission but I guess this was because my target was not really moving. Also, this plane has a radar, but the radar is just this red light showing up? And then I have to find out myself where the enemy plane is? (I have a problem with that, I often lost my target ^^) Thanks
  10. Ok so the default trigger of the X55 stick is good for this. Though yes I can understand you can turn it off and on, but I wondered why this plane especially has this, and not others :) edit : and btw can we find somewhere what all the buttons of the real sabre on the stick are for? I guess belsimtek has all those infos... I think I have more buttons on my X55 than on the real sabre, so maybe I could have a realistic layout... Thanks
  11. lol I got an award in iRacing (car racing) years ago as I managed to be at the first place in division 7 in an izod indycar championship :) I sent this stuff by mail to Simona di silvestro (indycar driver) and she sent it back to me signed :)
  12. I have mine at -1.05 for left screen and 1.05 for right, to compensate for bezel, but you should try yourself to check what's better for your setup...
  13. With my current LUA file it looks like : My LUA : (I took the three screen display setup and change just the viewport) Viewports = { Left = { x = 0; y = 0; width = screen.width / 3; height = screen.height; viewDx = -1.05; viewDy = 0; aspect = screen.aspect / 3; }, Center = { x = screen.width / 3; y = 0; width = screen.width / 3; height = screen.height; viewDx = 0.0; viewDy = 0; aspect = screen.aspect / 3; }, Right = { x = screen.width * 2 / 3; y = 0; width = screen.width / 3; height = screen.height; viewDx = 1.05; viewDy = 0; aspect = screen.aspect / 3; } } This looks not bad though still a bit tilted, and the more you look down the more the side views are tilted ;) But it is not that bad, and I can live with it ^^
  14. What is the angle between your monitors? They look a bit flat on your photo. The thing is, when you do this, consider one single screen, DCS considers it as one big flat monitor, so you increase your FOV forward, but not on the side, and moreover the issue is that the menus are stretched across the screen, with a bit on left screen, a bit on right screen.
  15. Hi, I have asked DCS team, and they told me this is a home made music. But what kind of music is it? Jazz? What kind of Jazz, if this is so, and what kind of artist I should listen to, to hear the same kind? Meanwhile, as this is a korean war plane, I'm listening to 60th kind of rock, on rockradio.com, because they do not have a 50th rock channel :) Thanks
  16. So, I managed a not too bad setup with working with the LUA, putting -1.05 in viewdx of the left screen, and 1.05 for the right screen, to compensate for bezels, and then increasing zoom to have a closer and more realistic view, and be able to see the panels better. I'll do this with trackIR to be able to look down... btw how do we know what is our current zoom level, and how do we save it as default? Thanks
  17. Yes I am in surround mode and I tried this, the 1 screen setup, but then this is like if I have one big flat screen, without any angle, so this is not good as well... I guess I have to work with the screen lua, not sure how I should use it though, will have to do some testings...
  18. Or does it just handle the thing like one big screen with a big resolution? I wonder, because look at what looks like my left screen when I have the middle one with a good zoom ratio... The earth is not straight as it should be... or maybe I miss a configuration somewhere? To have the left screen showing a straight earth, I have to really zoom a lot forward :) Thanks
  19. Hi, First, I wonder, why did they do that for this aircraft, to lock the nosewheel till we press a button? Is it to have a more sturdy nosewheel? Also, in the real aircraft, where is this button? Thanks
  20. Too bad we can't put them in "Training" folder, I guess we miss the lua and ogv files to make it work that way :)
  21. Thanks for the info. Though I'll not get the alpha it seems, so I'll stay with the steam version for now, as I have read the alpha is only compatible with nevada, that I don't have. So will wait a bit, and stay with my steam version for now... and later on I'll try to decide if I keep with steam or move to standalone...
  22. Does this mod works for DCS 1.5, and if not, will there be an update for it? Thanks
  23. Hi, I just wonder, when DCS 2.0 will be final, if we'll have to reinstall the sim, or if the updater will take care of that itself. I wonder, because the 2.0 installer installs it in an alpha folder. Thanks
  24. In immediate action (unsure what it is called in English), there is a "cold start" mission. Is this the same as the one you put there? Or the one you put there is a more elaborate one? Also, I have no taxing mission for now. Any idea when those will be in the official update? And now, do you think we can hope a campaign for the F86F in the future? I guess we can't hope a korean map, but then a campaign in the current map is better than nothing ;) (though I would love a korean map the quality of nevada ^^) Edit: Something that we will also need is a full interactive cold start, taxiing, taking off, doing a circuit, then landing training mission. I mean, not separate missions, but a whole one that covers all, as when you're flying, we are not dropped in altitude, we have to do everything, from taking off to landing...
  25. Till now I was a steam user, I was considering moving to standalone, but guess this is not the good moment then, no sales right now on the store and as a steam user I guess I have no bonus credit :)
