Hi, I have started the UN campaign. I have crashed a few because of engine fire before understanding that I have to checked the engine temperature so it stays in the green part. Means, I guess, I should be careful to not have too much collective. Means as well that I have to be careful not to go too fast. Then I didn't understand where to land to finish the mission. After checking the starting map I understood that I went on the wrong runways, the good ones are farther away. But hey the voice-over didn't give me detailed enough instructions... I think I'll try again this evening to finish the mission. Now my questions is... At times the guy in my helicopter told me I'm not going fast enough, or that I didn't fly smooth enough. Are those really voice-over about my bad flying skills? Or does he always say that? This mission is very long and require a lot of flying :) maybe with an autopilot that would be less stressful... Thanks Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

Unsure force feedback is that useful nowadays BTW. I don't know of any recent good force feedback sticks. All force feedback sticks are years old. Seems for flying manufacturers drop force feedback. For racing though all good wheels are force feedback. We even have force feedback pedals. With just vibration though, not real force feedback. Though if you take high end sticks for flight sims, none are force feedback... Oh yes I know of a force feedback device for flight sims, though it is a yoke and it costs a lot of money... Unsure it would be really useful. Note that I never flew into a spitfire. I'm a pilot student on small planes like Robin DR 400. And on those small planes I never felt any force feedback on the rudder pedals. To me force feedback would be more useful on a full size stick than on rudders. We feel more forced on the stick than on the rudder. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

This is unbelievable, knowing how difficult an helicopter is, in comparison with a plane... Good that the huey is not the most difficult one to fly. Envoyé de mon SM-G955F en utilisant Tapatalk

The Huey is not a fast one :) I can go faster in my Robin DR400 :) I had this issue with the first UN mission, when trying to climb at 3/4k, the engine caught fire and I crashed...

Oh ok thanks I thought those was new training missions. Indeed not a lot of interesting training in DCS... though this is worst in xplane, as in XP there is training just for planes, not helicopters :)

I'll try to map all this to my cyclic and throttle (I have a komodo EC135 cyclic and a warthog throttle) as I fly in VR so cannot see the keyboard :) Thanks

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators

Hi, Simshaker for aviator does not support helicopters in xplane11? Thanks -
Can't understand how to launch the missions. In the missions folder of my huey folder I have a few subfolders, campaigns, quickstart, single and training. Where am I supposed to put those? And how to access the missions? As those are training missions, that would be great to be able to access them through the training menu in dcs world...
-
Hard to do while still holding my cyclic, but I'll try :) Thanks
-
Before taking off then? Hard to setup something while airborne :)
-
So, now that we are in 2018, can we multiplayer in the same huey, to be the gunner for instance? Sorry, I was lazy to read all the 22 pages ^^
-
Hi, In a training mission, we have to destroy ground targets. But can we just fly the huey, and let the AI does the killing job? I know we can switch position (don't remember how though) but I should admit that I'm afraid of crashing if I stop piloting the huey ^^ So, what should I do in that mission? Thanks

Hi, Interesting software. What I would like to know is... it is flat 2D kneeboards? I mean, I fly in VR, and I wonder if there is a way to have a 3D kneeboard I could put somewhere in my cockpit, like for instance... on my knee so when I look below, I see the kneeboard. Thanks
-
I have watched the introduction video, what I wonder is, is this kneeboard always in flat 2D? We cannot put it in 3D somewhere in the cockpit? My goal would be to put the kneeboard where it should be, in BR, on my knee, or maybe on the left side of the cockpit so I just have to turn my head to view it. Thanks

The problem with gloves and virtual devices, is the lack of a real tactile feedback. Even with force feedback gloves, it could work for switches or buttons, but you can never really have the feeling of a real stick in hand. But yes that would be great to have DCS handles leap motion. This is on DCS side to really have a good driver for it. For instance, for FSX or x-plane, there is fly inside, a software that handles both the VR for those sims that do not handle VR, and fly inside, which is invaluable especially if you fly in VR switches intensive planes like those big airliners. So, please ED, that would be great to handle leap motion the good way. I would be glad to buy leap motion if I would learn it is handled well in DCS World. Oh btw I have noticed if we had put the vive controller on, there is a big hand in the cockpit, but the hand is not useable. That would be great this hand could be useable... so we could strap the controllers on our hands and use them in the cockpit. Thanks

Wow. What a big F16 thread :) Why I would like a F16 in DCS? Because I have a force sensitive stick in my cockpit, right side, and the F16 has just that, so more immersion. Don't like center sticks :) And DCS handles VR, which the other sim does not ^^

Unsure this is here to submit a bug, but I have one probably due to my regional settings. Cannot make simshaker works with XP11. I'm in France so the decimal separator is ",", not the ".". I join a screenshot of the error. I think this is the problem because the error shows a conversion error. I didn't have this error in DCS, though I didn't fly with simshaker and dcs for some time now. Thanks -
Thanks for that, I'll have a look... Though, who decided in the aviation history to have such small flaps? I was surprised when I activated them... Waow... THOSE are flaps? They are really useful, that small? :) Also, no left/right toe brake, only a general one? ^^ But despite that, this plane is really beautiful, the cockpit is marvelously designed, especially in VR, and everything is well readable even in VR... Of course, as I didn't read any manual before trying to take off with that, my takeoffs are near crash, and my landing are definitively crashes (also in 2.0 I'm unable to find the airfield I started on, so I tried to land on sand, with no success for now ^^) Hope they'll put the lessons in 2.0 soon :)

Too bad we always have to alt enter for that and that the full screen checkbox does nothing ;)

Thanks will check this evening. I'm at work atm...

The mouse is already restricted to the game window, though I have noticed than clicking on the mouse while the pointer is on the edge of the screen still allows to click on the desktop, therefore losing the focus of the game window. So, no way in VR to have the game full screen for the desktop window? Maybe I'll have to stop using the mouse, and using my view instead to watch where I want to click, and have a button to select that, though this is not very convenient to aim to a switch with my eyes ^^ Thanks

Hi, As stated in some other thread about the settings to use while in VR, the game is not full screen on my screen (of course, it is full screen in the VR headset, an HTC Vive). My issue is that with the sim not full screen, sometimes (quite often) in VR when I want to click on things in the cockpit, I click outside the window area. As a result DCS World loses focus, and therefore all commands, including the stick, do not work anymore, which is a pain. I have to remove the headset, click again in the game window to have it work again. So, I tried to click "full screen" but seems does nothing in VR. My game is still windowed. Any suggestion? Thanks
