Landing Gear control assignment gone?
bladewalker replied to bladewalker's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
gotcha! Thanks BN -
Uhhhhhhm..... any ideas? I got airborne, hit G, and nothing happened. Looked in the controls setup, and there is no Landing Gear assignment in the control setup anymore. It is there for all the other aircraft.

This method has now worked for me. It seems the difference, for me at least, was to un-install 5.5.0, then clean install 5.5.1. It seems that applying 5.5.1 over 5.5.0 causes it not to work with DCS. Thanks @Markus77

Software is freaking bizarre , because 5.5.0 does work for me, but 5.5.1 does not
-
Yeah, I tried that, with no difference. According to the notes, the update just fixed a few other bugs that were reported with 5.5.0.

Hi all...... This question is inspired by "Carbon's" recent video on Reflected's new F-16C Arctic Thunder campaign It looks AMAZING as is all of Reflected's work. Also Carbon's skill and knowledge in the Viper cockpit is just amazing. At 9:40, Carbon uses A/A Yardstick to gauge his distance from lead. Try as I may, I could not set this up in a single player environment. There is no option in the ME for your wingman to activate a tacan in T/R AA. Only the normal way, as a tanker might do. Does anybody have any idea how this would have been done in this mission, scripting maybe? or am I missing something? BW

It is not working with DCS. It has been reported on the Track IR forums. I just re-installed 5.5.0, and it works fine again. If anyone has updated to 5.5.1, and it IS working, then comment below BW

user error CCRP / GPS navigation not working?
bladewalker replied to Homer79's topic in Bugs and Problems
Understandable…….. BUT………. So the bottom line to all this, is the difference in the way the F16 and the F18 process / handle their steerpoints, and NAV system. Basically the F16’s steerpoint wanders like a stray dog, while the F18’s steerpoint is as solid as a rock. In the coming screenshots, you’ll see what I mean….. I have placed two steerpoints in the ME in the identical position at the base of a tanks tracks, both at ground level altitude. 1 steerpoint is an F16, and the other is a F18. This is an air start test with both aircraft starting 27nm away from the steerpoint. The TGP’s are purely there for reference. The F16’s TGP is defaulted to the current steerpoint, with NO slewing done at all. Likewise with the F18, with the TGP slaved to WPTDSG for steerpoint 1. You’ll see as the F16 gets closer to the steerpoint, the point gets further away from the initial point defined in the ME. If you reference the lat long in the TGP window, you will notice that the numbers do not deviate at all, but the crosshairs and by association, the steerpoint on the ground change quite considerably from the position defined in the ME, and this is over a mere 27nm / 4mins or so. If this is to be signed off as the new modeling of the GPS/INS system and the inherent errors associated with it, then why is the F18’s system bang on the “Atom”? What is the difference between the RL systems that make the f18 so superior? An aircraft that is of similar age to the F16? -
Ahhhh yes, I had it set up as such, but didn't stay in mission long enough to see it take full effect. Each of the other ships turn differently to maintain their position in the formation.... My bad JB

Now that we can alter the SC's course, is it possible to make the SG follow suite? I see there is no follow option for naval units. JB

In addition to always enabling easy comms, the launcher is also disabling mirrors. JB

Like I said……. Staring me in the face Thanks Moonshine, now I can sleep again

Hi all Try as I may, I can’t make sense out of this number. Every labeled diagram in ED and Chucks guide label everything except this number. I’m sure I’m being exceptionally dumb and it’s staring me in the face, but I don’t see it. This is in A/G mode with GBU 38 selected in pre mode. The number seems to stay relatively constant as you fly along, but if you put the sim into active pause, the number starts counting up in what seems to be 1sec increments. I’m lost for an answer.

Hi all I never really noticed this before and was just wondering if it is as intended…. If you switch to A/G mm, the GMT shows up on the right DDI, great! But when you de-select A/G mm (essentially going back into NAV mode) should the right DDI keep displaying the GMT radar page? I would have thought it would revert to the AIR radar page as that is much more relevant in a NAV / Cruise segment of flight? JB

Hi there As it says above. whenever the launcher is used, it activates easy comms in game, even though there is no option in the launcher. If I disable easy comms in game, and bypass the launcher, all is well... easy comms remains off. But the launcher will re-activate it every time. What else is the launcher doing behind the scenes???????? JB

On the topic of the launcher……. isn’t one of the points of a launcher is to remain open once the game has been exited, in case changes or tweaks are being made through it. Then you manually shut the launcher down when you’re done?

fixed JTAC - No call possible since 2.9.4.53627 Hot fix?!?
bladewalker replied to vctpil's topic in Mission Editor Bugs
Hi.... I was trying to play one of the ED missions for the F-16 yesterday (Home on the range) and the in game JTAC would not work. I did some testing and found that the JTAC works with all JTAC callsigns down and including Pinpoint. After that........ Ferret to the bottom of the list does not work. Home on the range uses callsign Jaguar. I have played this in the past with callsign Jaguar and it has worked. In the F10 menu it will say JTAC - (unit type) instead of JTAC - Callsign. If you try to check in with the ones that don't work, the pilot will not make the check-in transmission. Find attached simple miz with callsign Ferret. If you change it to anything before that, it will work. Broken JTAC.miz -

reported TGP & add Markpoint logic in MAN release mode
bladewalker posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi all. I came across this issue, and was wondering if it is intended operation or not. I couldn't find an answer in the manual. If you are carrying un-guided rockets, and you're in A-G mode and you want to take control of your TGP, you will have to select MAN release mode on the SMS page..... Fair enough. However when in this mode, it seems the add markpoint logic is either flawed, or it is intended as such. So basically, if you slew the TGP around, and pick a point you want to set as a markpoint, TMS up for point track, Select MARK, TMS up again, and no matter where the TGP is pointing, It will add a MP with exactly the same coords as the currently selected steerpoint. Also, there is never a "CZ" on the TGP screen in this mode, however if you so slew away from the original steerpoint, and press TMS down, It will preform the CZ function, it just doesnt show on the TGP screen. I've tested this with HE Rockets, GBU-12's in MAN release mode. BW -
reported earlier jdam still inaccurate beyond the 5m CEP
bladewalker replied to Sinclair_76's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi guys In my sheer frustration with the current state of the TGP and the JDAMS when using MP's generated by the TGP got me to do some basic testing. I have not seen this specific issue raised, so here goes...... Just hope its not me being stoopid. Basically, when you try save a MP from the TGP, The Lat/Long saved in the DED (MP 26+) is never the same as what your point track has designated. Example Point track on the TGP says N36 39 778, and W115 29 209. Once sent to the MP, the Coords on the DED for that MP say, N36 39 775, W115 29 202. If you plot those 2 points apart in the ME, It is a 38ft difference. That's enough to make JDAMS miss right? It happens every time without fail for me. There is that tiny difference between what is point tracked, and what is saved. I was watching this youtube video from a while ago and took specific note of what was point tracked, and what was saved, and it was correct and identical https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9Aao1Y0Nuw So did it break? Can anyone else reproduce the same results? BW -
It is indeed. Just added this myself. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3307071/
