  1. Haha.. Well I have some MC-12 time.. It doesn't get much boring than that [emoji23]. Granted it's fun I guess.. Lol
  2. You make me want to buy it now! Ha. What did you fly in the military?
  3. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] so true. Funny
  4. My company just got one a few days ago... Really fun plane!
  5. Haha same.
  6. You're tough to please... I think maybe you should make your own. Lol Great job on it Skull, appreciate your time out into it.
  7. When I said "no fun", I'm not meaning that I don't want it to be real life... It's a sim, with certain limitations. I want/expect it to be as real as possible. But the only way to do that is to simulate G forces with black/red outs and breathing. That's the only way we can in a desktop sim... Without actually feeling the Gs yourself, it makes it difficult to manage at certain flight envelopes. That being said, I wasn't meaning if you shut the override switch (if that's what it's called, I don't fly it) that you should be able to do anything. I agree, if it's off there should be repercussions with overspeeding or excess Gs.
  8. The problem I have with over-g'ing and ripping apart a plane in a sim, is the fact that we can't feel the G forces... In any real plane you'll feel the forces and adjust accordingly... You won't be tearing off wings ha. It's hard to "simulate" that in a desktop sim.. without constantly monitoring your G meter, and that's no fun.
  9. Garmin GNS 430? Agreed... WAAS won't give you anything different anyway. Unless you're trying to shoot an approach to lower mins(LPV)... And of course the airport/approach has to have the WAAS approach. There really is no use for it in the sim, in my opinion.
  10. Agreed, Gulfstream is the way to go.
  11. The 430 will do XM weather, but correct on the pictures being terrain though. WAAS is nice as long as the airfields actually have WAAS approaches...
  12. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] well done sir
  13. Agreed... I'm sure most people will find it easier than vor to vor even. Of course you can get deep into the 430 and shoot approaches, etc. But I'm guessing most will just use it to go direct. 3 clicks, done.
  14. Direct - Enter - Enter [emoji23]
  15. Still for sale?
  16. Agreed... We do use Garmins overseas (Afghan, Iraq, etc.) in some aircraft these days... It is realistic. That being said, I'm sure they will have the option for them to be equipped or not.
  17. Sorry to hear that brother... Gulfstream G550
  18. F15C and ILS Ok... I got nothing else lol W What is it that you used to fly? Curious..
  19. The plan I fly in real life does have a HUD too.. But the controls still aren't "reversed" lol. Typically the only time I'm pitching for an airspeed is in a climb... During decent it's very rare unless for some reason I am left high trying to slow down and get to flap/gear speeds for an approach to landing. Once that's all set, nothing during the actual approach is reversed. It's power for speed. Sorry to keep harping of it, but as others have recently chimed in(and I believe they are pilots themselves too).. This just isn't how it's done.
  20. Thanks for the answer! I was thinking that, bummer. Hopefully one day!
  21. F15C and ILS True... Fly-by-wire or not though, if you have auto-throttles(assuming they are engage), it will add or take power away depending on what airspeed you have bugged. Always trying to maintain that airspeed if able. So you as the pilot, on approach for example, are just flying it on glide slope while the throttles maintain the speed for you... And it's the same theory if you don't have auto throttle or if they are not engaged. Good point with the last paragraph. Simply put... That's why pilots go to school and get type ratings in their specific aircraft. You must learn how the airplane flys/systems. Of course there's always prior training/experience we all bring to the table when learning a new airframe.
  22. Exactly [emoji106]. On another note, I'm pretty new to DCS... Is there any way to tune Nav / ILS freqs in the F-15? I'm guessing no since the cockpit isn't clickable?
  23. That would be excellent!
  24. I've heard of it of course... But I do fly real planes for a living, and also teach in them. That isn't something I would recommend in the real jet.. It's more like, you are slow - add power. You are low, pitch up.
