Well, we can't be too harsh on them right now. They just came out with the F-18C, which we have been waiting FOREVER for. So, they're going to be concentrating on that, and probably thinking how they can get their monies worth for all their time and effort with the newly developed systems. I expect at least F-16C will also be coming out, since the systems for it have now been developed. Maybe improved F-15 Eagle as well. But yeah, I would love to see some ground modules and some FPS. This could be the ARMA Killer. Arma 3 was pretty much a disaster IMO. Felt cheap, like playing with barbie dolls. Arma 2 with it's really well developed mods was soo much better. Arma 3 felt just tossed together. And then, of course, there is Steel Beasts, which isn't THAT great and overpriced IMO. If DCS can raise the capital, they should GO FOR IT. Start developing ground modules, improve the terrain more, introduce FPS. They could make a fortune. The planes are really well done, but the "war" seems so lacking when all you can realistically control are the planes. Like one guy said above, what are you really supposed to do with the Mi-8 and such?

I'm waiting for a full blown M1A2 SEP module, myself. I know their mostly busy on F-18 and such right now, but it would be nice if they could hire some outside people who have knowledge of ground vehicles, to work on ground modules and FPS infantry.

Is Starforce goig to be removed for all modules any time soon?
3WA replied to imacken's topic in Payment and Activation
Thanks, bro! That's what I wanted to know. Nice to be rid of that God Awful Starforce. Hopefully, they remove it from the other modules as well. It's kept so many people from buying. And if they just let Steam do their job, that should be a HUGE boost to sales. -

I'm really confused now. I'm thinking about buying the F-18c, but does it still have starforce on it? What is being used now? Does Steam now use the regular Steam protection like every other Steam game? I prefer Steam, but only if it uses the regular steam protection. -
Yeah, the cockpit is kind of hard to read. Could be a little sharper.

Response from Thrustmaster re. F/A-18 HOTAS
3WA replied to Garyss's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks Buckeye! Yeah, that's what I thought. I knew someone here would know. Just looking for something better than overpriced Thrustmaster. You would think with the rise of space simulators like Star Citizen, and DCS coming out with modern jets, we would be getting some better joysticks. Even sims like Steel Beasts need some decent Joysticks. -

Anyone got a price list for these guys? Especially for their controllers. -

Where I"m buying from if I ever win the lottery. :p https://www.bugeyetech.com/ -
Mmm, yeah. I much prefer Steam over ED's stuff. Steam has good sales, is generally more affordable to the Masses, and is much easier to deal with.

AI F-18C carrying 2 AGM-154s launching from carrier. Anyone else having problems with this? I've set it to both Bombing and Attack Ground Target. The F-18 drops them OK, they just are WAYYYYY off target ( like a mile or two ). I launch at 10,000 feet, so they have plenty of run. Target is a few miles away. EDIT: Now they just seem to fall into the sea.

Ahh, thanks! I'll have to try it out.

Waiting for Ka-52.

Please just make it like every other AAA Title. Offline, single play - no key check. Online - key check. So simple, and it works for everyone else.

Well, I'll say what I've said before. DRM on this sim is WAY OVERBLOWN. This isn't Call of Crap or ARMA. There aren't 30 million pirates plotting to pirate this sim. I can count on 1 finger the number of people I know who play flight sims. Me. And I'm a hardcore gamer. :p No 12 year old pirate is going to try to steal a game that has a 700 page instruction manual. Anyone that does is going to fire it up, scream and curse trying to play it, and then toss it off their drive. As I recall, I think someone cracked A-10C years ago. It was a total failure. NO ONE wanted it. Just put it on Steam like Arma, Call of Crap, Battlefield, and all the other Big Studio games do. It will be fine. No one is going to pirate it. You'll probably end up with a lot more customers. Why are you so worried about kids who would never have bought from you anyway? Please your Real Customers by not overdoing the Copy Protection. The cost of Hotas joysticks, MFDs, TrakIR, etc. alone will stop any piracy, as they really are needed to play this sim decently. Pirates are poor and won't bother spending on anything greater than a mouse. THIS! I FREAKIN HATE Starfarce. Every time even the tiniest thing changes on my machine, I have to go looking for my Keys. It's REALLY ANNOYING!

Serious Deviation between game and real ka50 flight model
3WA replied to Migow's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's called a helicopter that's been sitting out on some god forsaken FARP for who knows how long, with the occasional odd replacement of parts and maintenance. Probably closer to REAL life than we think. -
Well, as far as I can find, it can only pierce about 100mm of RHA. So, anything more than a top down attack on a tank... I would think, head / side on, its only good for taking out tracks, optics, secondary guns, etc. Maybe a lucky hit on the main gun. Good strategy would be a dive bomb on the top of the tank looking to pierce the top armor and the unprotected engine vents.
-
Yeah, just get some third parties to come in and polish the "combined arms" up to Arma standards for now. It's pretty primitive looking from what I've seen. I don't think it would take THAT much, would it? Its been done to death on the FPS side ( UT / Crysis / Battlefield / etc. ). Should be some good FPS programmers looking for work out there.
-
What? You don't like intelligent ground forces with igla's? :D
-
That Pic of Normandy's map looks a little like ARMA 3! When are we getting FPS?!
-
Well, interesting debate, but I'm not going to buy anything from a WW2 simulation if swastika's are removed. That's just plain stupid and historically inaccurate. And if it's because of "attrocities", then Soviet Russia, Japan, and Britain ( Bomber Harris) should be the first emblems to be removed.

Isn't there already enough discord here? :p

Why are you still using Win 7? Win 10 is SOOO much better now. The major thing I have found with Win 10, is that I don't have to completely wipe my drive every six months because of built up errors. Been running Win 10 for well over a year now NO errors. LOVE IT. Plus, everything is moving to apps now, which you can't run in Win 7. Sorry to hear about your driver issues. Yeah, 2009..., its probably time to upgrade to a new Win 10 supported card. Probably time to upgrade your motherboard, and you'll find 7.1 audio is built in now. :p

DCS: Me 262 Discussion (Development on hold currently)
3WA replied to NineLine's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
No, no it would not. But then again, It's War. :music_whistling: And the #@%$#! A.I. sure doesn't seem to mind doing it at all!! Curse You!, A.I. Allied Forces! :cry_2: -
Lol, yeah, was flying the Shark last night against some tanks. The sky was ALIVE with .50 caliber fire going everywhere. Then a platoon of Stryker's joined in with their 30mm Bushmasters! I thought I had been hit by a missile!
