nvm.

Just remember, the autopilot lights are in reverse now. No light is ON, lit is OFF.

Lol, well said Rogue, well said. We need FLIR, RWR, and at least Igla's. Six pylons like the Ka-52 carries. Missile Warning System I'm not a huge fan of since it goes off like crazy when flying over the small surface to surface missile launches coming off of tanks and APC's. With all the variants of the Ka-50 built, there must be some advanced ones that encompassed this.

I don't think the people who just bought this BROKEN module for FULL PRICE are going to be very agreeable having to BUY IT AGAIN. NO WAY am I going to pay for just bug fixes and a graphical update to match the new engine which should have been done anyway. We already pay more than enough for each module ( the price of a AAA game ).
-
Lol, The Witcher and The Witcher 3 are two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT games. A cockpit upgrade is NOWHERE NEAR a completely new game. It's basically a BUG FIX with a shift to a new graphics engine.
-
Sounds like a graphics card issue. Try updating your driver. Which card are you using? Also, can you post a screenshot? That would help.
-
I don't see any other "3's" around, do you? I don't even see any other "2's". I'm not paying for a "3" if it's nothing but a cockpit update. I've already paid twice. A third time is just highway robbery. If the rich guys around here want to give ED more money, then write them a check. And God bless for keeping this company going! But don't expect the average worker to follow you.

What the A/A and A/A HO switches do is set the fuse to an A/A mode by enabling the laser emitters on the side of the missile. It will now explode if it detects an object within 5 feet? of it. This is less effective because it is only a fragmentation blast to the side and most of the weapons power is shot straight ahead ( shaped charge ). Not sure exactly how A/A HO works, but you set it if the plane or chopper is coming at you head on. The problem with the weapon is the EO lock on. It is impossible to lock on to a jet unless he is coming at you head on, and even then very hard. Choppers are less hard to lock on, but still hard. IR missiles, on the other hand, let you lock on very quickly, and are fire and forget. Though they can be more easily spoofed, they make excellent defensive weapons, as the attacker now has to go on defense himself, giving you a chance to dive for cover. This is exactly what a helicopter needs.

Only if it is a MASSIVE upgrade.

Those are jets. There's a big difference between jets and heli's, and their abilities in the ground attack role. The problem with heli's is, they need air defense just as bad as attack jets like the A-10 ( and I would say even more so ). Once an attack jet or fighter zero's in on you, your pretty much dead. Even A-10's are deadly enemies of the Russian heli. That 30mm will tear you up, and there's not much you can do about it. Vhikers are pretty much only good against other heli's, and while very effective against any kind of spoofing like ECM, chaff, or flares, they don't deliver much of a punch, and it takes forever to get a lock. Like the A-10, we need a fast and effective means of defending against fighter jets. And that is IR A2A missiles. Spin, lock, fire, and dive for cover. You can't do that with a Vhiker. A four ship with 3 heli's armed with iglas, and a 4th armed with R-73 (against fast movers ) would be an effective air defense strategy.

Well, I definitely won't pay for just a graphics update. Now, give the Ka-50 FLIR, 6 pylons, and Igla / R-73 like the Ka-52 and we can talk.
-
Personally, I want to see six pylons and Iglas / R-73.

The thing with Black Shark is, it is basically a Fantasy helicopter. I believe only 12 were ever built, and in the end, it was scrapped for the Ka-52. Many variations of it were built, probably some we'll never even know about. It was an experiment. I would definitely like to see a Ka-50 with everything the Ka-52 can do. FLIR, six pylons, R-73 or at least Igla V capability. The switch for AA is on the collective, so I don't think it's a "fantasy" to have it.
-
I think the Mavs are now confused on whether they are iron bombs or cruise missiles, and have settled for something in between.
-
Release date? What is that?
-
Nice, but I hope they will come out with the Ka-52, as well.

If the rich want to contribute more, I'm all for it. What you guys need to do, to increase sales and advertising, is to have a Free Weekend once in a great while, and offer ALL the planes. This will let people try ones they normally wouldn't even consider, and might find they actually want to have. It would also bring in people who haven't even tried flight simulators, most likely the Star Citizen and EVE type crowds. Also, as some others have said as well, bring in realistic FPS (very realistic, like having to go through the steps to put together, arm, and fire the FIM-92). Also, realistic Vehicle Sim. You will gain SOOOO many players. You really are the next evolution of ARMA.

The Engine in this thing is a BULLET MAGNET!

I have a hard enough time against Zu-23 and Igla's while flying the Shark. I don't think I would want to try and engage those in the Mi-8. -
where to request new serials for Flaming Cliffs 2??
3WA replied to Kazon's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Well, a rather late answer, but have you tried emailing Customer Support? I would suggest the Payment and Activation thread. -

And don't even get me started on how effective the Mark 2 Arrow is. -

Personally, why would you take the Mi-8 into combat? It's really just a troop carrier, and the weapons are meant for DEFENSE. I don't own it, but it doesn't look like it would maneuver well, nor be very fast. -
Igla is probably pretty much the same. And of course, we have the scene from Firebirds. :p
-
Unfortunately, this ain't ARMA. Hoping DCS heads in that direction in the future.

Best Controller For F-18 and F-14

Yeah, I've had a chance to take a look at the Warthog at the store. Didn't care for the gimbal. Too tight. Couldn't move the stick fast enough.
