  1. Agreed, but throwing ideas out may not be a bad thing. Ciribob can put any he likes on a road map, and everyone can follow to see what is planned.
  2. From the client you have microphone boost which will boost your audio, though as you turn it up you'll reach levels which will distort your audio transmission for others, so you need to find the happy medium. The same goes for playback. There is an audio boost for your speakers which you can turn up to increase the audio being sent to you, but again you need to find the happy medium. Lastly, if you're flying FC3 aircraft, then use the volume sliders in the overlay to increase or decrease the volume of those radios. If you're in a DCS level aircraft you need to use the in-cockpit volume controls for that radio to increase or decrease its volume.
  3. Not to single you out Microvax, but your post highlights the points echoed by other Bluefor posts as well. Please stop rationalizing these 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 5:1, 15:1 odds. Redfor has just as many problems on our side. You simply don't see them because you don't fly for Redfor. We go through the same situations, and we spend as much time as we can under these oppressive odds trying to train our pilots to fly their aircraft. What I keep reading is finger pointing from Bluefor.
  4. Was this yesterday at Beslan-Tbilisi FARP? It might have been me. I was flying around dropping KUBS, and Igla's, and I took a hit from something which messed up my transmission, but I just kept chugging along because it didn't seem to affect performance all that much. I called it a night when Smokey gunned my entire KUB system in a single pass which I had just setup, and on the second pass he gunned me. I was too busy watching the burning KUB in awe, and saying "Carl! You had one job!" The KUB fired one missile at something, and never fired again. Not sure if BS team changed something, but I think these things are borked again.
  5. Gotta show for the testing round. That's where they added the comm arrays which weren't on the map, so it was a nice surprise running into them for the first time. I found one, but only saw the EWR, and thought "oh look Bluefor dropped an EWR". Only after I destroyed it, and the team kill message came up did I realize new assets had been added. For a very brief stint we had moving convoys with very light AA which could be commanded by CA. They were removed rather quickly though and I can only guess because one of our Redfor guys wiped out two Bluefor bases with a single BMP. The OP cries could be heard through the night. The fuel system is almost back to round 5 levels, but not quite there yet, so player refueling isn't quite worth it yet. I posted some ideas several pages back now on how to get it relevant, but keep the AI safety net. We just need to get our CSAR back, and the fun can ensue!
  6. Dude, it's Redfor defector!
  7. Moltar, I have my doubts about this. Redfor has had this same problem since Round 5. In the past during the day (my time) the numbers slightly tip in favor of Redfor, but at night (my time) they're always 30/10 +/-, but as the night drags on it becomes 30/0. The only airframes restricted to sides in the previous rounds was the F-15C/Su-27/Mig-29 yet Redfor still faced those odds, so I don't think the airframe is the issue. I myself started to play in Round 6, but found the odds so stacked I played all of two days, and didn't come back. I played Round 7 for two days as well, and then left because the numbers were the same. Bluefor only lost Round 7 because Redfor fields all its players on the last two days (they stay up 24 hrs), so they're finally able to get a numbers advantage. The same thing happened on Round 5. One of the big issues with this Round (not as bad as 6) is Redfor isn't maintaining a numbers advantage for very long if at all, and I don't think it's an airframe issue. I personally feel the numbers disparity is starting to become long in tooth for a lot of Redfor pilots. Our HQ is filled with messages from Greg about "if you build it they (Redfor pilots) will come" in an effort to keep the spirits high aka keep those playing still playing. Why do you think this is? Propaganda like this is only needed if your user base intends to leave you hanging dry. For Round 8 I just decided to resign myself to the fact we'll be outnumbered heavily when I play, and I'll just keep dropping those KUBS regardless of what happens.
  8. Greg, be sure to swap the colors next round. The Russian equipment becomes Bluefor. I'd like to see how this pans out for science!
  9. I watch it all the time too, and we have not yet taken all the east bases back, and 6 vs 5 is a far cry from 30+ vs 5.
  10. Let me turn this around. Bluefor Gazelle pilots are so pathetic they need an intel bombing script to help them win. How would you interpret this? I didn't even realize this. It seems the culprit has stepped forth. That's fine, but this tirade on our Ka-50 "super weapon" is getting a bit out of hand. All I hear anymore is Ka-50 this, Ka-50 that... everyone is getting so butt hurt because we have a few pilots who are capable of using it, and actually getting something done. Sounds to me like we're about to go back to "Remove Ka-50! Remove A-10C! Remove <insert your favorite module here>! We don't have that many Mi-8's on a FARP. If this were done, then we couldn't get KUBS up quickly. The sooner you do this the sooner I can get back to RL. I saw you as the snarky one. I thought this was a Round discussion? I'm glad I wasn't drinking any coke otherwise it'd have come out of my nose :smilewink:
  11. Wow, let's just assume all Redfor Ka-50 pilots are incompetent due to a feature none of us asked for, and found this nice surprise while playing. All I hear from you is mimi mimi... Apparently your 5 to 1 odds aren't enough for you You also didn't put any thought into giving the Mi-8 this ability did you? Yes, please change it so the Mi-8 can do bombing runs, so I can obliterate all, and capture.
  12. I don't see any Redfor choppers at Sochi. How did you come to this conclusion?
  13. The new change to the fueling script is nice, but to give players even more incentive to handle the fueling can we have the AI aircraft switched to that coalition's respective chopper, and perhaps even carry half of what the player can carry or both? Right now the plane is so much faster there isn't much point in handling the run as a player unless you just want to bring additional fuel. One more possible change for greater incentive as well. When the mission restarts, and an airbase is out of fuel the AI is dispatched immediately. I would change this for mission starts to wait whatever time you have set between AI runs.. what is this 20 min.. 30 min? This would force teams to send a player for fuel or wait for the AI which would take longer.
  14. Don't worry about this. Some people find installing 3rd party software a daunting task, but with each day we're able to get one more person on it. I'll be helping a couple folks out tomorrow, so hopefully a few more of the regulars during your playtime will be on SRS.
  15. Beslan, Mozdok, Nalchik, Vody are Redfor starting bases, so they have our advanced fighters such as the Su-27/Mig-29 though I'm not sure if Nalchik has any... It should IMO, but I don't think it does. Redfor starting bases are PAK 1, 2, and 3. We don't have any advanced fighters in the Bluefor starting bases which are PAK 4, 5, and 6. Prior to the F-5 Bluefor had advanced fighters (M2K) in PAK 1, 2, and 3 while Redfor only had the 21 in 4, 5, and 6. This made it extremely difficult to hold or retake airfields on server restart when we'd have to launch all our advanced fighters from the rear bases, while Bluefor could get M2K's in the air right over our bases in just a couple minutes.
  16. We never got them. Been stuck with the 21 even against the Mirage.
  17. The Mirage vs 21 certainly isn't equivalent. That said Redfor has been fighting this imbalance for a round or two now. Thanks to the release of the F-5 this is more balanced. Just going off of the systems in a 1v1 I'd give the edge to the 21, but in a multi threat environment I'd give it to the F5 due to its higher SA. It's kinda how I see the 27 vs 15 when you remove the 120. An attack chopper is CAS, and if the defenses turn into tanks that would be even better, because without all that AA my Mi-8 can turn into CAS :D.
  18. It's ultimately up to you guys. I would want to make sure you got plenty of play time, not just GCI. No real worry about eating a slot on Redfor. It's rare we have enough people to fill all the roles.
  19. Nope, we're in a worse state than before. When it's unpacked it turns into a completely useless non-controllable truck.
  20. I have the most fun in Blue Flag in the Mi-8 doing all the transport operations. It's a piece of cake to learn. If you can fly the Huey, then you'll be able to fly the Mi-8. The two biggest differences are the torque is in the opposite direction, and VRS stalls are a lot less forgiving (think house instead of brick falling out of the sky). The startup procedure is similar to the Ka-50, but requires flipping more switches (like fuses). The more experienced Mi-8 pilots are always helping the less experienced get up and running on Redfor. As for me I need to spend time in the St-25T. I got to attack a FARP for free yesterday, and each time I flew out I killed exactly one unit, and then the FARP took me out.
  21. Doing your point 1 defeats the purpose of this rounds concept. It sucks we're outnumbered like this, and we're probably going to lose because of it, but I'm having fun with the concept. Edit: Maybe this concept needs to be run twice. Some of our traditionally Redfor squadrons are playing on Bluefor right now. Could be due to the new modules. They might return to Redfor on a second run. All we would need for this round is a traditional Bluefor squadron to go Redfor *cough* RvE *cough* which could then return to Bluefor on the next run.
  22. I think this is a DCS bug in reporting. It happens on the Open Conflict server more frequently. Basically the game reports the death or kill incorrectly. In this case it reported the aircraft correctly but not the player.
  23. You had to ask for it didn't you.
  24. Crap, we were too lax with security. Should have known you were up to no good. Quick change the codes to something other than 123456!
  25. I learned the Mi-8 while flying this testing phase as well. I only flew the Huey prior. Dropping those KUBS or Igla's is oh so satisfying, especially when you see one of those nemesis A-10's go down. Transport FTW!
