  1. The game is beyond frustrating now. I have been very much in the flying scene regards to Burning Skies and the WW2 PVP arena. I wish we could have an update on the damage model. Not just that flying the planes, are they still in Beta, as you make changes and then say nothing has changed. When you have flown hundreds of hours in the plane you notice stuff. Nobody ever has an answer for issues that have been around since the end of 1.5. I had to send a track for DCS to look at super cooling in the 109, it certainly is a little less super but still pretty great. I would also like to know why i can run MW50 on and off in the 109, yet i do it in the dora or WEP in the P51 its like pot luck wether the engine is gonna seize. A lot of people i talk to barely use it. Surely i should be able to run MW50 on and off in the Dora like the 109? Or does the 109 has special MW50. Dora FM has changed, its my favourite plane and i have flown in a ton! its nose heavy and even harder to handle at slower speed? You could attract so many more people to flying WW2 in DCS more regular if you addressed some of these issues. I may fly again once you get there, but its to annoying right now.

  3. I agree with Reflected, new damage model cant come soon enough. There are some other engine issues I hope get addressed that are annoying as hell. I fly mainly Dora and P51 so obviously will notice things more than others. Dora WEP, leading to engine failure. I just hardly use it anymore unless im desperate to get hope. So many times you can run WEP in a fight, disengage be flying around, all temps and pressures bang on then suddenly engine seizes! Its annoying. In the manual it says you can run WEP for 10mins then cooldown for min 5mins and can run wep again for 10mins. I tried this. Ran it for 10, cooled down for 6mins then ran again. Got to 4mins into 2nd run all temps/pressures bang on, suddenly engine gone. Same with the P51, running 67" and its a gamble how long the engine lasts. Have experienced (and others) running 67" come off back to 61" flying around all in the green and suddenly engine will die. I had it landing had been 2700/46" into the break on down leg all temps fine, bang, engine seized. My friend once landed shutdown n AF, few mins sitting there heard the engine seize sound. Its screwed. Bud Anderson in a 51 WW2 blew his header tank before takeoff and still flew a 6 hour mission!

  8. what do you expect with full flaps at that speed. Think of the pressure under the wings. There is a reason aircraft are given speed limits at different angles of flap. Have you noticed the more Degree of flap used the slower the airspeed.
  9. A Mustang pilot came top in Burning Skies for the month April! How is this possible! He only can run on a maximum of 67"! I demand balance, bring forth the 262!
  10. Sort your mission out. Axis flak no working and you cant land or takeoff. Get another airfield not so close!

  14. I know this thread may have been around before but i cant find a difinitive answer. More what people think it should be quoting references. eg 3250 + MW50 for 10 mins. Then 5 mins without before you can run 10mins again to a max of 40 mins. So i decided to test it out. I flew for 10mins @3250 with MW50 then 5mins @3000. Then pushed back to 3250 with MW50. I made it for another 5mins before the engine seized. The whole test i monitored and played track back to check, all temps and pressures were in recommended operating at all times. When the engine seized i watched it back and paused it. All pressures and temps are spot on. Then engine seizes and then the coolant immediatly goes off the chart. No pre warning just bam! I really would like somethin difinitive from the developers on this as i find myself not using MW50 in combat due to not knowing how or when i should run it. Is it moddelled on a timer? What are the actual operating limits and times and for how long? :thumbup:

  17. There is a lot of bias, bullshit and crying in this thread. In the current BS Feb stats I have flown all 4. The most being the Dora, being my favourite plane, followed by the P-51. I love all the planes and just want them to be as close to the real thing as possible. The things bothering me after reading are these: Allied pilots bitch the most I need these 75" this 25" that. Remember this was never intended to be a IL2 simulation which is why the a/c choices are as they are. The 51 is great and would do better if the damage model was better. When I fly allied the amount of pilots I see cruising along to attack at 3000 feet. You give yourself no options. You have a large sky, use it! The 109 is the best plane, but I think there are some issue with it that I have voiced to the development team and left it with them to go over. This I have got from both fighting against and flying it in combat. Defaultface seriously mate get your head out of DavidReds arse. He is a good pilot, I would like to see him fly more than just the 109 on BS, as when me and Tecnam have faced him in Dora's when he was in a Spit he spent most of the time in our gunsights. But ultimately he can fly what the hell he wants. Pilot skill does have some degree of outcomes and can't be completely ignored saying it's just the plane they fly. Bullshit. You are still pulling the stick, making the decisions, some planes just allow you to make more mistakes then others! The thing I want the most right now is damage model. The hit box style system is sucky and gives BS outcomes. See you in the skies for both Red and Blue :thumbup:

  20. Have seen this, blew wing off on MP server, i flew gentle bank away thinking its a kill, he pulls around and sets me on fire. He then says in chat need escort im rtb with one wing. Seems there is a bug that pops up from time to time :thumbup:
  21. Did i say him specifically? no. Its been mentioned. I agree ED should focus on getting the visibilty correct. Falcon does a good job with this no matter your Res. In the mean time, a balance has to be struck.
  22. Unrealistic? And lower your resolution, changing settings to make your game look worse with jagged lines is realistic?

  24. I fly 3440x1440. I have tried lesser resolutions and my monitor stretches the image. I struggle to spot stuff. Dcs via is terrible. They need to look at falcon and it's visibility model as it's pretty decent no matter your resolution. Need secondary af's. so if primary is camped can take off from a rear field climb up with time. I don't think you can forcs a balance and ai is not the answer, they are unrealistic and do stupid things. Plus never black out
  25. Just flew, So hard to see. DCS need to sort it out. Not all of us want to fly with a tiny monitor and shit resolution. I flew Saturday after you put labels back on, could cope. Tonight i give up.
