Is there any way to hide the Enemy in the F2 (or any) External view? I don't want to hide Friendlies, just the Enemy.
-
@Hollywood. Chatter issue. Not repeatable today. Was the FA18 module. I'll let you know if it persists. Snacks out.
-
Is that just for Options? Other actions, like 'Go to waypoint 0' wouldn't repeat at every waypoint, right? It's only for the Options.
-
It is Radio Chatter audio by a theme. (NATO, Navy, RedFlag, Russia, WW2) You can have a key/button assigned to turn it on and off. Or have it Auto Start when you get in the pit. And even an option to have it linked to work only when aircraft is powered.
-
I had Chatter on auto-start with the Link to Radio Power checked. But when I exited the mission, the power on the aircraft was obviously off(since the game was not running), but Chatter continued. I even tried using my Key Command assignment to turn it off, but that also did not work. So, I started up a DCS again and started a mission. And my Key Commands still do not turn the Chatter On/Off.

I have added no new hardware in over a month. (I added a ssd stick last month as an extra drive D:, the game is on C:) Before that I have not added any new hardware for 6 months. The game has not been crashing until last week. It started 2 OB updates ago. Ran the Memtest overnight for 9 hours and it found no errors! I updated my nVidia drivers two days ago. I ran a DCS Clean & Repair. I renamed my current Saved Games\DCS.openbeta folder. DCS Rebuilt the folder and built new fxo & Metashaders2 folders. I made a simple mission with a C130 escorted by 3 FA18s. It ran it from within the Mission Editor for 1.17 hours until I came back. It was still running. I Pressed F10 and zoomed in and out a few times. The game crashed/disappeared to the desktop. Not a BSOD, just disappeared. Here's the log from that test. PS: My Cpu temp is 45c and my gpu is 74c. dcs.zip

I have been reading about all of the functions of the switch in the manual. It is all over the place, not just in one section, which kind of makes sense. So, I was trying to put together a comprehensive diagram or flowchart. I've got about 75% of it figured out, but I'll just have to wait until it's finished I guess..

I updated the OB today, but this seemed to start happening last week. I noticed it happening when I was using the Mission Editor and flying from there. The game just crashes with no notice. Straight to Desktop. Today I've been building a mission and testing it and the game has crashed 5 times. Probably 3 while editing and 2 while flying. This last crash did pop up the error message below, and also the blue msgbox asking if it could send more info to DCS Devs. (The other crashes did not.) But as soon as I clicked Ok on the msg, it crashed to desktop. You can see in the dcs.log that it could not create the file. Every other time it just CTD without warning. I had NO mods installed during this last crash. This crash has happened during several different missions. I had to start over 3 times today, so those were 3 different new missions. These missions were on the PG map, and I chose 'Modern' coalitions, but Iran was on in there. So, I had to restart and add it. And even then it was on there. So I had to start over again and add Iran again, and this time it was there. So, that might be a minor bug as well. IDK.. My System Specs are in my sig. Logs & DxDiag attached. DCS Log & DxDiag.rar

I don't have a Warthog.

That would be awesome! Hope it works out. I am all for realism, but hate to change my assignments just because my VKB Long TDC press will change my hat to a POV. I can't think of another aircraft I fly that needs to work that way.
-
Thanks, but I think that might suck. I have the TDC set as an axis hat on my VKB stick. The hat 'short' press is the TDC Press. Never thought I would have to long press it!! On the VKB sticks a long press changes the hat to a POV hat! So that will probably not work. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

I seem to be having the same problem as the original poster. My TDC will not slew. I read the first page of posts, but then this thread went OT about TDC accuracy. In the first few posts I read that you need to make the 'radar' the TDC SOI diamond. Is that the Attack Radar? I even tried that and it didn't help. This a A/G weapon so I had the diamond on the Mav FLIR and that does not let it slew. So, I am lost.. Help.

The Manual Says: For the first part that says "Assigns TDC priority to the xxxx". I assume that only works in A/G mode? It doesn't say that, but the Forward and Aft do specify A/G mode. For the text TGP FLIR text above. What, if any, modes are required for those statements to be valid? I assume it has to be in A/A mode. Or would it work in A/G mode? If A/A, does it only work in BVR Submode? Or also in ACM Submode?

I've never had more than about 8-10 Kneeboard groups. Maybe there is a limit? Have you tried combining them so that there are not so many? When I click 'Build Customer Kneeboard for XXX' I don't get any message. But it works. I see the kneeboard in the game. I am using KBB version 1.7.5.0 "whenever I start KBB the game directory location is cleared out and empty" I'm not sure of what location you mean. AFAIK, KBB stores your Kneeboard builds in your Saved Games DCS folder. Are you running KBB as Admin? You should.. Also, Windows Security might be 'cleaning' out those files. Not sure what else to tell you.. I had those Transparent pages for a few days also. They started right after the maps, where the custom kneeboards should start. I had never seen that before. But it went away and I have no transparent kneeboard pages now. It could have been a DCS thing that was fixed in an update. Or maybe I re-built that kneeboard? IDK Don't Delete those files in the Saved Games\Data folder. KBB uses them I believe..

That could be. It's been almost 10 years since I made it.

I don't know about the date and size on that one. I never had any problems, or reports from anyone with any problems with the cursor or anything else. I would assume that the version I have on my computer is the latest version since I made it. In any case, I would appreciate you not posting links to other downloads of my Trainer. If you find any issues with it please contact me. Thanks.

When he says "please wait a patch in future releases", you shouldn't read that as "please wait a patch in the next release". Sometimes it takes several releases. Sometimes it doesn't. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

Never mind. I got it working. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

1. I have 2 mics also. My Rift and Headset. They both work. I don't think you need to train a profile for each. But if you have problems you could try it? 3. There used to be a program called WSRProfile.exe that could backup your Recognition Profile in Windows, but my link on my desktop(Win10) says it's no longer there. I read online that MS no longer supports it. But your Speech Recognition Training files are located here, and you could back that up. Ah-Haa!! Thanks for that. I figured out that I had to taxi right up to the runway. But I was not crazy, there was something wrong. EDIT: Just noticed that your link was for the Stable version. We were playing the OB. But I still figured out that I needed to taxi to the 'correct' runway! LoL

Wow! Awesome!! I had the 'flashing' Comms Menu too for the past, well... since I decided to try using VAICOM again about 2 weeks ago. It would just appear and disappear every minute or two. I posted about it, but Hollywood had no ideas how to fix it. But that video fixed it. Just had to re-set the path to my OB again. Weird!?? I had the correct path in there. Just had to do it again, and now not Comms Menu appearing. This looks like a bug to me. And I did not do extensive testing. Just flew the same mission that had it flashing last night. And this time no flashing at all. Good luck with fixing your problem FZG. :joystick: BTW, the way the guy in the video has his game installed is crazy. It is messed up!

I'm a bit of a noob with the radios. So, one more question.. Why do the airports have 4 frequencies? Is that because not all aircraft have the same kind of radios? How do I know which frequency to use? When I was learning the F/A-18c on the Nellis AFB, while in game I went to the F10 map and clicked on the Nellis icon, and tried the first frequency(327.000) and I don't think I it would let me enter it. The second frequency worked(132.550).

When it gets displayed on the DCS Kneeboard it can only be as big as the kneeboard. How big is your kneeboard? The max height for most people is 1080, and the width needs to be about .843 of that height, so 910 pixels. And if you only have one monitor, that would cover up half of your 1920x1080 screen. I have triple screen so I can go 1080, but the text is too small to easily read. Here is a single page extracted, and one that I doubled up. I don't use them because they are hard to read for me. :smilewink:

Thanks for the pics! For that Spit freq, what are Button1, Button2, Button3, and Button4? Is that specific to the Spit? Does it have 4 radio buttons? Not at the pc right now. I'll check this when I get home. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

Are you sure KBB didn't fail integrity Check when moving/resizing the kb? AFAIK they change the same line of code. I haven't used KBB for that in months.. I used to get random crashes on loading KBB. It would work fine for weeks, then start crashing on load, or when selecting a profile from the systray. Since I stopped using it to size/move the kb from the systray I've had no problems.
