I feel your pain on this one. I tried using a debit card but my stupid credit union decided to bar all transactions from Europe and...get this...the entire US east coast! Apparently protecting against fraud by treating me like a child is more important than letting me have access to my money. You may want to check with your bank/credit union to see if this might be the case with you. With mine, I could have called ahead of making the transaction to notify them to temporary lift the restriction. In the end, I just used a credit card. :( Maybe this would get more help if moved to the billing/support forum?

I'm going to bump this one and add my official Seal of Approval. This really is pretty remarkable for the fact that it works so darn well. It takes like a matter of seconds to set up a mission and it really is 90% random, including time of day and weather. I was flying fighter sweeps in a Russian-side Su-27. I noticed that flight path was the same a few times, but everything else was random. It was pretty wild to fly low while notching and notice that there were Stingers down there shooting at me! :) I'm going to try to turn down some of the options for lighter enemy activity, for uneventful CAPs. On "normal", you're guaranteed to run into some bad guys. Its cool though, since you can conduct your sweep and then bug out and try to make it home when your winchester. EDIT: Oh yes, I forgot. This program also makes your pilot logbook worthwhile since you can easily revive your pilot. :)

I thought "watch EKRAN" meant just that; "hey stupid! Look at the EKRAN!". The aircraft is telling you that there's a message on the EKRAN. For specifics.. WATCH EKRAN! :D

This is true for most Dells, but he has an XPS. I thought those were at least a little less proprietary and a little more upgrade friendly?

This thing is F'ing beautiful. You need to get this hosted at LockOnFiles asap man!!!

"level" != "backwards" ;) In all honesty, I don't know enough about either to say that the MiG-35 is backwards, forwards, sideways, etc. Saying something is backwards has a negative connotation. It implies that not only has there been no advancement, but there's also been a regression, maybe to a technological dead-end. Plus IIRC there have been some discussions here where the argument about the OLS was either it being a great technological innovation vs. worthless, no more, no less. So saying something like this is backwards might step on some toes, not that I care too much about toes. ;)

You're gonna get lots of lovely responses for that comment. :megalol:

Good question, no one has.

Amazing that you've managed to create a randomizer with a user-friendly GUI. I'm looking forward to giving this one a try. :)

There is a diagram someone made a while back that shows the ranges for various fighters based on the number of lights showing on the SPO. You might be able to find it at LockOnFiles.

Just to make sure...did you install OF over Allied Force? OF is original Falcon 4.0-capable only!

AKA "Flight simulator syndrome". ;)

Yes, but you have to do this from the beginning. You can't already have FC installed and then want to install 1.02. Here's the basics (from memory, so I hope this makes sense): Install LOMAC. Now make a copy of your LOMAC folder (not UBI or Eagle Dynamics, only the LOMAC folder itself) for each version you want. If you just want 1.02 and FC, just copy it once. Now patch one or both up to 1.02. I'm not 100% sure which versions FC will be able to install over, so to be safe I would patch both folders. You may have to change the names of the folders for the patching process. Leave the one you want to patch with the default name. If you copied the folder, it probably already gave it a (2) or something after the name. Now change the name of the other folder you want to patch. Now you have 2 copies of 1.02. You should rename one of them LockOn 1.02 or something similar. Now install FC. Since you renamed one of your folders, FC should only recognize the one you left as the default name. Now you have both installed! You can use the same shortcut for each, but you'll have to rename the folders each time, much like you had to do in the patching process. If you want FC, make sure the FC folder is the same name as the folder in the shortcut. If you want to play 1.02, rename the FC folder something like "LockOn FC" and then name the 1.02 folder to match the folder in your shortcut. There are fancier ways that don't make you rename folders each time you want to switch, I think, but this method works for me.

I think your main obstacle with using AF Hitiles is the fact that you have to install OF over regular Falcon 4.0. If you want some hitiles for regular Falcon, look back a few pages. I provided a link with some older free hitiles made by the same guy who made the payware ones.
-
I don't think so. Maybe I should reinstall AF to make a side by side comparison.

No, just the feeling. It could be the same as OF and AF for all I know. In AF, it felt like a crippled pig all the time. In RV, it feels nice and zippy. For example, in dogfight mode, which I'm assuming models a clean jet with full fuel, Staying at corner is much easier. My tendency is to glance down at the HUD and see that my speed is at 480....490.....500....whoa there boy! I usually just pull a bit more G to get it back down. In AF, it was the other way around. I bled energy quite a bit so I had to consistently unload and unload often to gain speed. I also notice it when loaded with stores. In a full burner take off with 4 CBUs and 4 mavericks, I can take off, get in a 4 G turn for my departure heading, then a 4 G turn for my next steerpoint, all the while climbing at 10 degrees and accelerating. I can do an oblique vertical turn with this load too, as long as I'm around 400 knots+ Hell, it could be the graphics for all I know, all the shakes and shudders they added in. If so, that should tell you something, shouldn't it? They DO matter. We're not really sitting in these hunks of metal, so we lose a lot of the sensations. When guys say that this stuff shouldn't matter in a flight sim, to me its like saying having sex while blindfolded and wearing a 2-inch thick rubber shouldn't matter. Sorry, it does. :D

Here's one person who flies on full realism that doesn't want to ramp start it every single time he plays a campaign mission. If there was a choice, I'd probably pick start on runway or taxi to runway every time, just to save time. I'm all for the choice though.

As mvsgas said, Red Viper is known as the eye candy version of Falcon. The reason why I'm willing to fly Red Viper aka Free Falcon but cannot stand Allied Force has less to do with the graphics (although it helps  ) and more to do with the FM and 3D cockpit with working MFDs and instruments. Having to stay in the 2D pit to do A to G SUCKED. Literally...it sucked all the fun out of it. lining up an attack and keeping the bomb fall line in the center of the FP marker in the 2D pit felt almost claustrophobic and didn't only made the whole "flying on rails" feeling worse. Being able to do this all in a 6DOF 3D cockpit makes it much better. Also, the FM is better, mostly in the thrust to weight department. The default RV model is supposed to be more realistic too. I don't see too much difference between in and AF other than the thrust. It is much easier to fly when the natural tendency of your jet is to accelerate rather than decelerate. It makes everything you do much more enjoyable.

LOL...watch that video again dude. She's not sharing any passion for simulators. She's basically saying "My husband is a REAL fighter pilot, unlike you, the internet "warrior". Grats on never having a chance at the real thing ...GEEK!!!"

ROFL! If I could rep you 3 times, I would.

LOL...is that Bill Cosby in the picture on the manual? I know William Shatner did advertisements for computers, but that made sense, he was Captain Kirk! But Bill Cosby...?

What I was trying to say is that all of what GG described, determining that a pilot is less statistically likely to be lost if he gets a certain amount sorties under his belt, the fact that there are definite right and wrong things to do and that a pilot can be corrected, this doesn't just come from nothing. This is the product of years and years of experience. Like any type of organization, years of experience create a certain culture that can be passed on to new members. My point is that this should create some credibility, credibility that someone shouldn't be blamed for thinking matters.

I'm sorry, but unless we're talking about UFOs and aliens here, something completely new and unprecedented, you're wrong. What you "can give right there, right now" is a direct result of everything that came before. Is it required? No, but it sure as hell does help. Red Flag itself is living proof. Oh, I'm sorry, I guess the USAF throws out everything and starts fresh when they participate. Ironic that all this experience and know-how is meaningless yet India wanted to attend Red Flag so badly, to say nothing of Cope India. :noexpression: Why didn't they do Cope India with someone else?
