i can fly and land and do everything (combat, land in base, both seats, cold starts, emergency procedures.. having dce campaigns wracked up A LOT of hours. then also I wracked up another 8 hrs a week as a RIO for about 5 months straight before I belieev squadron policy changed. or i offended him and he wont tell me hw i did and dnies i did. i highly doubt the 2nd, the mans a gentleman, a former naval aviator and a combat vet. hed have said 'you cant hack it'. EXCEPT refuel. nope. practice endlessly still cannot. however I never use acls or autothrottle and can land in any case even IFR but I wanna be a rio we are rare and the Mp experience is like none other. some ppl dont get it. i played so many single seat mp games. this is the first flawless 2 seater game where 2nd seat rlly has a job. and... plus also maybe my dad being a f4 wso plays a part. regardless i must warn, i had a motorcycle accident 3 weeks ago. so cant commit to time or as much time rn now as i will in weeks and months to come WHOMEVER flies with me, Im looking for someone to 'go steady' i dont wanna switch up all the time. that works in the navy but in the USN I can rest assured everyone meets a baseline. and arent psycho or w.e. thats not the same in this. so I really want someone willing to fly if it works, and also someone who feels the same - we need to fly a couple missions together and see if we 'click. we talk at first, lay out how we like stuff (do u like speed etc countdowns landing, lgb practices, etc etc etc) then we see if we work, or if their 'front seat driving' when i cant find a target they feel I should or Im not doing the same to them with flying. you have to 'click'.

I asked my old pilot for his tracks. I know i must have some tracks left.. pretty sure. if nothing I can get other players to attest to this not every mission, but lets say more than just 1 out of 100, (more like sometimes 1 in 10), my VERY experienced pilot who also flew irl and saw combat, would do what we always did engaging bandits. now we had engaged hundreds of bogeys Sometimes, no matter what I did, I could not get a hot trigger. Id hook a target, everything, NO HOT TRIGGER. this led to panicky USE ACM QUICK and and other shenanigans sometimes loosing a missile fixed it, other times not. Seriously id like this to be looked at, following this post Im gonna look for tracks, but I can ask the guy the back me up and im not making this up. it was very odd, and ive only seen it in MP in the RIO seat.

Im a member of AG51. I had the best pilot ever but as time and pressures (we're the only tomcat crew left everyone went to bugs) went on he keeps wanting 2 tomcats.. thats cool.. but I REALLY like Multicrew. like MP is cool. but DCS mp isnt like revolutionary.. like the multicrew is. I dearly miss that. i had a bad motorcycle accident well 2 in a week and.... so I havent been flying but with the A i wanna start again. who wants a rio? I can do almost all of the RIO stuff. I still have some tricks to learn with the radar a doppler modes etc but comms, jammer, lgbs, locking missiles, all that. I can do. enter WPs, cold start, no problem.

Yes a question to HB- for the love of god please tell me the b will have the digi engine displays and the a the correct ones? And please fix the oxygen panel thing too.. (reffed near top) i mean its part of where we do all our flying

Total guess but the "blind" plane probably would still vaguely know the target area. as he closed in on that area, hed probably be on the radio and hear the target was being lased. His rio would probably tell him to release by distance. equally likely is that the lazing plane would also have a viz on the dropping plane and just do a pickle on radio cmd

-
because the a was overwhelmingly the f14. and iran has as. the question is why does this seemingly bother you? This was the plan from day 1,i dont see the issue
-

Ps what was the 1st assumption i got wrong?
-
Ok fair nuff. Apologies. yourbhandle says dcs ground crew so I assumed you def know more than we do. You also inadvertendly have saidnthings a tester or member would only know. *regardless* im.willing to wager 50 dollars to anyone that its released the 4th. and yes theres a way online to deposit.the money on both sides so no one can renege. Sry drac - you CAN see how your statement would have been misinterpreted?
-
not true someone on this forum a week ago speculating said 'well we wont get it oct the next patch isnt until nov 4. It must be then' a HB staff member sent him a mensa link with a winky emoji its the 4th id put money on it

is the carrier turning into the wind? if it is and your start up is already on and going it can mess up your alignment. used to happen a lot to me on the f14. id just wait until the ship completed the turn. that didnt affect ccip/rp though, it affected navigation itself..

Im pretty sure it works like this. when you lase you get the info for the laser beam you sent out at that moment. Auto lase, or manual, or latch, sends a continous laser beam, auto last 10 seconds, I usually if MP would manually lase and ping it until 15 miles and then 'latch' laze. then id do 5 second intervals until 5 4 3 2 pickle for the pilot I know many many times the bomb was in flight and i moved the crosshairs and got the bomb to miss OR occasionally saved a bomb by moving them and having it hit the right spot

Im familiar with the mig pilot youre talking about, his escape story is quite harrowing, he died in an aviation accident however one must wonder - after all the soviets basically ran a couple AFs simultaneously - one for home defense the other for ops. hell I think there was even a third strategic one, not sure. Further the Soviets were very big on categorizing quality of units. The fact he was a mig29 pilot implies he wasnt in a shoddy quality unit, but on the other hand his base location is a half backwater. Not quite Siberia or Vladivostok, but definitely not some Class A unit in East Germany, Kaliningrad, Leningrad, or Poland.. oh well. Im inclined to believe you, though I have my doubts that they *never* did it. I think its quite possible in some area it happened or was conducted. Or perhaps during a few moments in the cold war when they acquired a western plane perhaps they didnt keep em going like constant peg, but perhaps they did fly and mock dogfight the living crap out of it. I guess we'll never really know? I do know despite the reputation for total strictness and following orders the Soviets would simply sham or lie if they couldnt do what the superiors wanted. The pilot in question also said he defected because hed been warned they may have to bomb soviet citizens. I dont know, perhaps Im looking at it wrong and only more trusted pilots would get such a mission, but to my american brain thats not hot shot ace work? And he obviously wasnt everywhere at everytime in the SU in all the airforces all those years. he could have missed a lot. look at the dearth of info on all the mig pilots rotated through korea. and as far as museum pieces.. I havent seen the F5s pop up. or any f4s. nor the F86. matter of fact I have seen the sovs display US spy stuff and U2 stuff. thats it. Chinese and Vietnamese i know show off us equipment. The Russians love showing off german stuff though. I could easily have missed a pic of their f5s or watever as a gate guard or at kubinka. anyways cheers and id love to hear yr thoughts about davies version
-
I didnt even get to read it, Im looking for it thru libaries, igot to read part through google preview or somesuch. Im 99% it was the other book but it may have been Davies work, which Im also keen to read.

yes yes I know all about that note first post - i explicitly mention the guide.
