Funny, i was just thinking about those two fictional factions and this pops up. :D I think fictional factions may play a bigger role in MP in the future, with lots of European and US aircraft modules on the roadmap, but sadly few or no new Russian planes. Having two big fictional countries with planes manufactured in many differnt countries (like the indian air force in RL for example) would help make MP scenarios with a lineup that provides both sides a similar number of aircraft to choose from while avoiding mirror matchups that requier IFF, which some planes dont have. Also Northeria and Southeria skins look cool.

I tested the P and P-5 on both the F-5E and F-15C. The Aim-9P and P-5 have problems, they have a much shorter range than the Atoll (all of them) and lose speed MUCH faster than an Atoll. Why would a Aim-9P/P-5 after rocket burnout in the same situation and speed lose speed and energy this much faster? You can easily test this in the editor both on the F-15C and F-5E.

Did a few tests with the P/P-5, all the IR Atoll variants on you can hang on the Mig-21 and r-60/r-60m. The P/P-5 perform worse than all Atolls and the R 60 and have a significantly shorter range than the Atolls and R60s. The P and P-5 lose speed way faster after engine burnout than the Atolls to such a degree that they have trouble even catching up to a Mig-21 flying at a decent speed (700 kph for most tests). (while the atolls still can without problem) So, i would say there are a few Fm issues with the missile, but its not just on the F-5 of course, but made worse by the low missile count and more difficult lockon. ATM i would say the P and P-5s performance is about comparable to the GAR-8. Everything else is much better.

Thx Q: Can a player that does not own the Gazelle take the gunner position? I know this has been asked bevore. But maybe there is some new info about the topic by now. :) I think the ability for people to use the second seat without owing the module would not just be a great feature for the players but also a financially a sound decision. (for all modules with multi seat aircraft) As it both increases the desirability of the module as well as give the community a great tool to get new players into DCS and grow the player base as a whole. So, if that would be technically possible.... :)
