  7. I am loving the recent additions (at last some British unit love in DCS...thank you) it's just a shame there are no desert skin options available out of the box. Looks like it will have to be a DIY job....oh well
  8. Cheers xvii-Dietrich It needs to be in the saved games area not the core DCS folders....like this: Drive/YourName/Saved Games/DCS Version/Mods/tech. I have made it so that the models are available to all factions, so they are not specific.I hope this helps.
  9. Hi All, This Mod will do the following: 1) Reduce Volume of Smoke Markers. 2) Reduce dust volume produced by Vehicles. 3) Reduce dust volume produced by Tanks. 4) Reduce Smoke Volume of new mark smoke in the revised embark/disembark process. It is JSGME/OvGME compatible and can be downloaded here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-oukR8GwmRLiXPcoChArtYi5vRrPm1eV/view?usp=sharing
  10. It'sAlive  https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=220970
  11. In this MOD I have included both an Allied and Axis FAC vehicle AND NOW TROOPS OPTION as at 11th June 2020. Whilst the vehicles used have no armaments, they will behave as if they do. To avoid them opening up on targets, simply change the ROE to hold fire. Each unit has the ability to mark the TARGET AREA with a smoke marker (Willy Pete). Both vehicles can be found in the Mission Editor under "ARMOR" named as follows: Allied = *WIIFAC- WILLYS_JEEP Axis = *WIIFAC-KUBELWAGEN The Troop FACs can be found in the Mission Editor under "INFANTRY" named as follows: Allied = *WIIFAC- US_SOLDIER Allied = *WIIFAC-BRITISH_SOLDIER Axis = *WIIFAC-GERMAN_SOLDIER You will need to place the extracted folder called WWII FAC MOD in your saved games Mods folder, inside the tech folder. Please enjoy. Download here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1T2y9ZP58LrhYZ7Kf6iz4QJt-Sy5GgNXl/view?usp=sharing
  12. Cheers Rudel  Here is something I recently stumbled across and I hope folks find it useful.
  13. Hi Phil, Sure no worries....sounds like a plan
  14. The .miz file was no longer required as the video shows you how to set it all up.
  15. I noticed this in the latest update. Hadn't seen what appear to be new elements, so that I would show it action:
  16. I updated it here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=219643
  17. To be fair it is simply an option that can be made available within the constraints of DCS as it currently stands. JTACs or FACs call them what you will were implemented during WWII at a basic level by the British particularly during the North Africa campaign. The Australians also used this facility during the Pacific campaign. Wiki Info: However, forward air control during World War II came into existence as a result of exigency, and was used in several theaters of World War II. Its reincarnation in action was a result of field expedience rather than planned operations.[13] British Mobile Fighter Controllers operating in North Africa during World War II In the Pacific Theater, 4 Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force began forward air control at the Battle of Buna-Gona, New Guinea in November 1942. The RAAF continued forward air control in the Pacific for the rest of the war.[14] By November 1943, the U.S. Marines were using forward air control during the Battle of Bougainville.[citation needed] On the Allied side in the European Theater, British forces in North Africa began using the Forward Air Support Links, a "tentacle" system that used radio links from front line units to the rear requesting close air support from the next "cab rank" of on-call airborne fighter-bombers. The requesting unit would direct the air strikes. The U.S. Army would not copy the British system until the invasion of Italy, but adapted it for use there and in France after the D-Day Invasion of 6 June 1944.[15] The United States would end World War II still without an air control doctrine. When the U.S. Air Force split from the U.S. Army in 1947, neither took on the responsibility for forward air control; the U.S. military thus had no functional forward air control when the Korean War broke out.[15] An added dimension to mission building was my thought.
  18. Would this be of interest to the WWII community?
  19. This is a modification to an already modified version of the original CSAR Script. I take absolutely no credit for the original scripting as I believe that was Ciribob's work.
  20. Yes it is the Mod linked to that post and can be found here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3300930/ Glad the vid helps.
  21. Hi too-cool, see if this helps at all: Cheers
  22. If you are not au fait or comfortable using scripting, these two videos may help you achieve your end goal: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3537550&postcount=33 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3548175&postcount=47 Cheers.
