  1. Just a quick question, sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, I could not find it. I really enjoy the Producer's notes videos, and I have not downloaded all of them yet. Will the dvd western version contain the Producer's notes, or are those only available as download? Thanks
  2. ...ditto hats off to all the crew for the hard work...we sure appreciate it. I am in the US and will wait, heck I've been waiting for years now and a few more months will just give me time to study the manual and learn the sim...just consider this a good time for all of us to learn....
  3. VERY NICE!!! I like the way the main screen integrates with the rotors....awesome work guys! keep it up!
  4. Thanks all for the replies, gonna give them a look! Tony
  5. Hi folks As we are eagerly awaiting BS's arrival.... I have not flown in several years, been taking up driving for a while with racing sims. Now I am going to get back to good ol' flying. I have been around since the Falcon Gold days....a long time. I have an old trusty Microsoft Sidewinder 2 stick that does rather good still, still works and has no drift in it. I am in search of a setup that would have rudder pedals, a throttle and a stick. What is everybody using these days for a hotas system? Just need a little advise, probably going to purchase something in the next month or so... Thanks Tony
  6. yep, did the same thing you did. EE2 is pretty much.....well, in nice words, just like EE1 is without all the patches and mods....but the graphix look nice. played EE2 for about a few days and took it off my HD, back to EE1 and the mods....way better.
  7. Wow!!! I just fell in the floor looking at that...... WHOA what detail. Very very nice!
  8. BUMP! Yes an FD vid would be awesome! And yes, Trigger, you spelled it right
  9. Thank you Blaze.....gonna check that out, might be in my future one day I hope!
  10. Yes I agree that is a bit much $$ for the core 2 duo. Seems Dell is a little high on their pricing! I will do some looking elsewhere and see what I can get it for. Appreciate the link, and just judging by that it seems the 6600 will completely smoke my lil processor lol.....:) One thing about the 8800GTS. I bought that after taking a look at Tom's Hardware and doing a lot of comparing. Check this link out: http://http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2007.html I had a 7900GS and wow, what an improvement. One thing I did find by researching this is that the 8800GT320 will probably outdo the GTS640 by a little bit but if you run high resolutions higher than 1280x1024, then the GTS will outdo the GT...and that is the main reason why I got the GTS rather than the GT, it was only about $75 difference. One big thing tho, if you are a FSX fan, you will probably not see much difference. That is the ONLY sim or game that I did not notice a big improvement on, and after reading about it, it is because FSX relies mostly on processor power. I should be able to fix that with that 6600 core 2 duo tho lol :). Other than that, you will love the 8800 series .....fantastic cards....
  11. ditto. I hate vista with a passion. I have xp pro on 2 machines and xp home on a lappy, game with the xp pro tho..... what sucks is micro$oft and directx10 in the future. of course they make it where vista is the only os that will support directx10.....more money in their pocket -)
  12. Blaze Sorry to be OT of this OT subject lol, but saw you had a 32" samsung. I have a 19" HP that is being pushed by an evga 8800GTS....I am considering going with a bigger monitor in the future sometime. A friend of mine said that a 32" lcd tv will work just fine but I did some looking at one, a vizio and it said that I could just get 1280x900 or something like that, and I run at 1280x1024 right now on all my sims.....does that samsung support 12x10? and what is the model if you dont mind me asking? thanks!
  13. I think you will really enjoy that 8800GTS, I love mine! I am sure the Ultra will outdo it, but look at the price jump on an Ultra, really not worth it in my opinion. I do have one more question if I can bump in here -). I did a little researching on my rig at Dell...I posted my specs at the start of the thread...but it says I can go with a core 2 duo or core 2 extreme. The E6600 is around 300, the E6700 is 389 and I didn't even want to look at the X6800 extreme lol.... I am getting outrageous frame rates right now with my rig in games like doom 3, gtr2, even call of duty 4 is getting anywhere from 65-120 fps depending on what is going on...crysis is getting around 50 or so with everything cranked at 1280x1024...lockon is smooth as butter as well, not sure of the exact fps on it tho.....the ONLY one that runs a little slow is FSX, which I heard is very processor dependent and there is not a rig out there that can run it playable with everything cranked up.... Do you think that it would be worth the 3/400 bucks to upgrade the P4 3.0 dual core to either an E6600 or E6700? I'm planning on this with income tax return money, christmas will be a TIR4! lol..... Thanks again for the replies....
  14. Thanks for the replies. Looks like a definite TIR4 in my future and perhaps a processor/mobo upgrade, but I think I will see how BS does. FSX does pretty good around 30fps, and I have read that it relies on the processor mostly. Open Falcon, Falcon Allied Force, IL2, Lomac all run really good with no hiccups....so I think I will wait a bit until the sim is released..... Thanks again
  15. Hi, new to the forums, long time falcon driver...... I have an XPS 700, P4 3.0 DualCore with 4 gigs of memory, 500GB drive space, a SoundBlaster XFi Extreme Music and an EVga 8800GTS 640mb video card. Should this be enough to run the sim at a decent frame rate? Also, how is the trackIR4? Thinking of getting that also when I get the sim.... Thanks!
