  1. ^ Awesome!! :D I have a few questions about keycommands: Will there be more alternative controls for functions? Like: Toggle gear, lower gear and raise gear (I know those are in LO) for example, but for other things as well? That'd be nice me thinks so that one can have even more freedom to customise his cockpit... Also, can we have different control mappings for different aircraft (when others are released)? And different settings for the axes? :joystick: Thanks!
  2. hehe funny thread this!! :hehe: I don't currently have a girlfriend, but I have abit of justifying left to do to myself to get my hand on that french gourmet stick I'm planning to buy. :shifty: (I've been saving for it for quite a while)... I do have a dog though, but it does'nt talk nor remembers as much as a wife, does'nt care how much I spend on anything either as long as he gets his food and a bone every now and then... The only thing he does that interferes with flying is he seems to wants to have say about the rudder inputs sometimes when he's feeling lonely, but for those occasions there is the twist grip...
  3. On many info sites about KA-50 the Igla is listed among weapons it carries also... Don't know which version or anything though, anyone know if it'll be in the game also? Or am I mistaken?
  4. Thanks for taking the time!!! Much appreciated! :)
  5. Sweet!!! I'm on the other side of the world, but it'd be nice to see the results - do post your progress plz! :D
  6. Cool!!! I'd imagine one would get dizzy using the trackIR on such a big "screen" ?
  7. hehe I also used racing pedals for rudders, and for IL-2 I duct taped the steering wheel on the side of my chair for elevator trim. :) Worked perfectly, I used to have a pair of CH pedals (the basic ones) and I thought the racing pedals worked just as well... (As did the CH pedals and flight yoke for racing btw ;) ).. I think ruddering with the twistgrip thingy found on many sticks works pretty well in IL-2 and lockon, but rudder pedals are much much better and more immersive! And for BS it'll definetly be a must I think.. I'm building my own rudder pedals right now, with toe brakes and all, and me brother has a usb pic-processor circuit design that can be programmed for handling sim-gear. :D I'm also planning to build a collective! I'll post some pictures some time... Anyway, pedals make alot of difference I thinks!! You should definetly get them, the Saiteks look very good (I've never tried them myself though)..
  8. I'd guess that once the triggers are implemented, it'd be very simple to make such conditions possible... I'm very curious to hear more about it too, and am looking forward to some very immersive missions indeed :D
  9. Hehe.. Good point! How about the CH throttle quadrant? :smilewink:
  10. I think it'd be nice with more (interactive) radio chatter in general (than lo fc).. But it's allways nice with "more" :P I flew with my brother once (a little schweizer 300c), then we'd taxi to the runway (hovering) and takeoff from the runway and exit the pattern just like a plane, same thing when we landed.. I think it usually works that way with civilian airports and helis?
  11. Interesting discussion!! I have a trackIR 3 without the vector expansion, and thinking about getting 6dof - Anyone have any idea about the difference between a 6daf Tir3 and Tir4? (Mine is alittle buggy, I have to reconnect it every time I reboot or it won't work, so I was thinking about getting a new one anyway...) Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread!!
  12. Viggen would be cool me thinks, but not before a Fulcrum..
  13. A Harrier (any version) modeled to DCS´s standards would be the coolest thing since sliced bread!!!
  14. I guess there will be shadows in the cockpit cast by your own aircraft at least, that are "correct" relative to the sun. What kiss4luna said, if exterior objects could also cast shadows in the cockpit would be really cool when you're sneaking behind a bunch of trees or a building! HDR would also be nice, but I think thats more of a glare effect.. I don't think it has anything to do with shadows (?), but it looks very nice indeed if it's used properly...
  15. I have this problem too.. :/ I have 2gb ddr2 667mhz ram amd x2 4400+ 8600gt 512mb Is there a fix?
  16. Hi all!! I'm new to the sim, and seam to have some problems (FC 1.12b). I was going nuts with the bug of trackIR not working after fiddling with the keycommands, then I went nuts trying to change the difficulty settings for campaings.. which I still have some problems with.. I declasify the campaign, and then change the difficulty settings to what I want, and make sure it's changed for all missions in the campaign.. Then when I play the campaign, only the first mission has changed difficulty settings and the others are still at the default setting.. :/ Is there something I'm not getting here? My 2nd problem is that the game crashes when I load certain missions (the second mission in the A-10_campaign for example)... My specs are: AMD X2 4200+ Geforce 8600 GT 512mb 2gb ram Latest drivers... and cleanbooted XP Any help appreciated!! ps. What settings should I expect to be able to play with this system? Right now I can run it at medium with decent framerates...
