  1. Love your movies! Especially the black shark one with the Hans Zimmer soundtrack (forgot what the movie is called). It really has that expensive "Hollywood epic movie" feel. I allways figured that if I'd ever try to make a combat flight movie, I'd try to get the tactics to shine through and have the viewer immersed in the action and also understand the big picture of an engagement/strike/or something... Cheers! Looking forward to the next movie!!!
  2. I certainly would'nt mind a 95% realistic flyable, I expect something like that from the planned flyables. 100% real is only the real thing.
  3. Thx for the replies everyone, looking forward to seeing the new UI  I'm confident it will be very nice!! :) Anyone know where one might find that shot of the ME?
  4. Um yeah.. :) I've seen that screen, it looks very nice.. What I'm talking about is what's underneath the open mission, mission editor, network play and campaign buttons.. Hm, I should probably look through the Q and A again then.. ;)
  5. I think Lockon looks great at high altitude, and I like the graphics alot "colorwise" even if it's not "technically" spectacular.. I agree that it sometimes seams to be taxing the GPU alot relative to what you see compared to other sims. On my system (amd x2 4400, 8600[w/e two letters there were], 2gb ram) the water settings make a HUGE difference no matter if I see water or not.
  6. Hi! I was wondering about the UI, will it be similar to Lockon? I'm hoping there will be some changes to make it less confusing (I had my first LAN game with a friend the other day, and we actually had to pick up the manual to get it to work :p ). I'm mainly thinking about the way the mission editor, campaign play and network play parts integrate. Allthough the mission editor itself is easy to use for example, I find it alittle confusing how these things come together on the same screen (been playing LO:FC for 4 months). But maybe that's just me (being used to Il2)... I realise that there won't be any changes to the DCS UI at this late a stage but anyway, will/should it be the same in DCS as it is in Lockon? Or will/should these things (ME,Lan-play,campaign,mission-play) be more seperated? What do you think/know?
  7. Me five! :D It'd be very cool indeed me thinks
  8. hehe! Sounds like fun! I'll have to try!! :D
  9. Very interesting read! Thx!!
  10. Nice!! Thanks!!! :D
  11. Wow!! Awesome build!! Looking really sweet me thinks!! :) I'm sure there will be or are squadrons planning to fly DCS, you should hook up with one that matches your timezone! It's a great way to get the most out of any simulator I think.. And with that control setup you'll be kicking ass!! Really cool!!
  12. uhm.. Paris? yeah Paris port..
  13. Oh sweet!! I did'nt see it before, thanks!!
  14. Yes, I'd appreciate that too!! :) Would be very nice me thinks!!
  15. What's an AWD system? I'm totally lost when it comes to cars, I don't even have a drivers licence (I can't even spell licenc(s?)e).. But I can imagine it's a very fun hobby when you've got a nice piece to work on!! hehe I'll be sure to let you and the Captain know Flyby!! Btw, do you also fly / used to fly IL-2 Flyby? I think I've seen you online on the Warclouds server (don't know if it's still active, been a while), I used to fly with the F16 squadron (F = Flygflottilj = swedish for squadron)...
  16. Hehe that's a funny story!! Some creatures, those wifes :D But seriously, if someone makes you do something (something not bad that is) you would'nt have done otherwise, that someone has given you something. Oh, you can probably fit about 8 naked women in the boat, 4 of them being comfortable, plus yourself (also comfortable) :D I'll see about getting a definite answer this summer hehe.. Yeah she's very slim, and quite fast!! She's 12.1m / 40feet and displaces about 4.5 tons..
  17. lolol that was funny!! :D Have'nt seen it, thx!!
  18. Jazz scene here is very small and confined to very small clubs (certainly not much money in it), there's a Jazz club in stockholm called Fashing that authorities has to throw lots of money at to keep it a float lol.. We don't get many jazz bands in the studio, in fact I can't think of any at all (except ourselves). We mostly get young punkbands and rock and pop bands recording a demo for the weekend... Sorry, no sailing pictures in digital form right now. But me and my dad and brother just got a new boat, have been sailing it for one season.. When we got it it was halfway filled with water and was generally pretty messed up, but lots of work and now she's a queen :D Here's what the type looks like "Lady Helmsman", I think they're from the 70's.. Just 200 made, ours is 144
  19. Speedgliding looks awesome, I hope to try it some day.. Nice to see so many of you guys liking Jazz :D I'm a drummer and play mostly Jazz, but many other styles as well. I run a recording studio with my brother and hope to make good profit in the music/sound industry some day... I do some sailing in the summer, and some skiing in the winter (telemark, a Norwegian style of skiing) I live in Sweden so sometimes I go to "Riksgränsen" which is an awesome skiing-place far up north on the border of Norway and Sweden..
  20. hehe.. Sweet!! I guess you'd have to crank your speakers quite abit if it does'nt have headphones in it?
  21. The one helo of these I'd like most to fly is the Ka-50, but since we're getting that, I voted for the AH-1.. The Tiger would also be cool, and the Ah-64A will be nice to try.... :)
  22. I agree a Harrier at some point would be awesome!! :D I can't think of one aircraft - except perhaps the Ka-50 itself - that I'd like to fly more in a sim like this than the Harrier, whichever version it may be.. Oh well, one can allways dream :) I'm a super happy dude now since I'll get to fly the Ka-50...
  23. Hmm, if it's the picture of the Kamov stick you mean, I saw it last time I was on but not now... Clever Cat!! I used to play il-2 with pedals like that, and use the wheel fo elevator trim :D And it always bothered me that the pedals were so close together, yet I never thought of that :P
  24. That Alan Szabo dude (the pilot) is totally amazing, me brother is into r/c heli's (I'm happy with my little fixed wing electric) and just hovering is a challenge that takes hours of practice. Then comes hovering nose-in, then comes....... I wonder how many flying hours that guy has to get to doing those incredible moves!? Flying an r/c models is in many ways alot harder than flying real aircraft... Anyway, congrats on the helicopter!!! I bet you'll have lots of fun!! :D BTW is the blade AoA fixed on that model? Which model is it?
  25. Nice to see you guys progress!! Looking really good!! And very inspiring!! I'm building collective and pedals. They'll be connected via usb, using a generic usb IO we have at work for our products. The IO uses a pic-processor so it's very configurable and can support virtually an unlimited number of buttons and 8*8 axes using a multiplexer I've been told, and the best thing about it is it's very cheap.. The deal is I build two collectives, one for me and one for the guy who knows the IO, since I don't know how to wire or program these... I'll post some pics when I have something to show :) I have a tip also, I used an aluminum profile building system for the pedals http://www.alucon.se It's an incredibly flexible system, as suitable to build a cockpit frame with as they are for more fine mechanics (such as the pedals).. The building system is common in industrial robots and stuff like that. Anyway, alucon that I use is a swedish company, but I'm sure a similar product is available near all of you...
