  1. Cura does variable layer height. Might be worth a shot to reduce the print time on the non-sloping sections.
  2. I'd suggest using JoystickGremlin if you want to combine devices from different manufacturers. Much more reliable than hoping they will spoof each other's PID/VID or support their competitors' devices. The VKB software works on a hardware/firmware level with the devices, that's why you don't need to run the software every time you want to use the joystick, unlike TARGET. Thrustmaster and Virpil devices have completely different hardware, so it wouldn't work even if VKBconfig could "recognize" them.
  3. You could conceivably use a shift register to get more i/o out of the nano.
  4. Yeah, the TM MFD's are modelled on the F16C, which have 4"×4" MFD's as opposed to the 5"×5" displays used in the F/A-18, A-10C, F-14D etc, that are ~56% larger by area
  5. If you have pre-ordered, you'll be sent an email when it's ready. If you want to pre-order, you can sign up to have the site notify you by email when it is in "stock".
  6. Okay, thanks. That would be Eduard at VKB Europe then?
  7. Meanwhile VKB Europe just said the next set of pre-orders (from Dec 2018 on) will start to be fulfilled end of April...
  8. What is the approximate price for a standalone blackbox? If it's not possible for a hypothetical future blackbox revision to automatically detect the grip and select a profile accordingly, then perhaps it could be setup with two or more sets of flash memory/firmware "slots", with a switch to toggle which one is to be read upon reboot.
  9. No, if you need more than 500mA draw including the arduino master and anything you power off its +5V rail, then you add 7-12V to the barrel plug, the arduino stops drawing from the USB, converts the input voltage to +5V, and you can power more stuff on the +5V rail, still at +5V. If I understand it correctly.
  10. Does that matter seeing as the Mega isn't USB3? I thought it had to negotiate for more than 500mA anyway? Edit: Looks like arduinos have a polyfuse for 500mA on the USB power. If you need more, you can bring in 7-12V through the barrel plug, and the Arduino will then convert to 5V and draw up to 1A.
  11. They do. You can also rotate your wrist palm up to access what would normally be a right click. The "laser" changes color to let you know you are in the right position.
  12. There is a heel plate available as an accessory. Maybe it was not ready for the prototype?
  13. The MCG-pro has two analog hats; the master mode at the top center and the gate control at the lower left of the joystick "face". They can each be programmed to either be a 5-way digital hat, absolute or relative analog hat, or to switch between 4-way hat and analog on a long-press.
  14. Now I completely understand that you cannot support or promise that your grip will work with a Virpil Base. It seems to me that if you make a Warthog compatible version, that would have to present itself like the chained shift registers of the Warthog/Cougar grip. Thus, it makes sense that a base that is design to work with the Warthog grip would also work with any grip that is designed to work with the Warthog base, of course subject to the same limitations a warthog base would have. Unless, of course, you are building in a specific function of the grip to detect an attached Virpil grip and then stop working, to force incompatibility by design. Is this what you are saying, or simply "VKB doesn't support or condone this, but good luck".
  15. If you still have them, TM sells the throttle main board as a spare part.
  16. By "pedals black box", are you referring to the RJ45 connector that is marked "pedals" on the black box that come with the gunfighter, or a special blackbox version that come with the T-rudders pedals?
  17. Their webpage appears to be down. Hopefully in order to add this to it.
  18. As a MFG Crosswinds user, I can only say SWEET! Looking forward to the point where we can start approximating your excellent work in our own pits.
  19. 1. Twist needs to be optional or not included. I suggest making it compatible with the same twist adapter being developed for the MCG, if possible. Then those that want twist can pay extra for it and those that don't won't pay extra for what they would prefer not to be included. 2. Warthog compatibility would open the grip up for use by more users, including Virpil base owners. Sounds like a good idea, unless it compromises the functionality of the VKB version.
  20. Blue has posted those files here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=217518
  21. My plan is to attempt high fidelity on switches, knob and levers to the point I can reach for the corresponding lever in the virtual cockpit and be accurate. My hope lies with a future controller that will allow hand tracking without gripping a controller or preventing a throttle or joystick to be used in that hand.
  22. Those aren't VGA connectors. VGA is DE-15, (15 pins in three rows), this is DE-9 (9 pins in two rows), or what would have been used for the serial port on an older, pre-USB computer. I got a bunch of actual VGA connectors to use for this purpose along with cheap ubiquitous VGA cables where needed. Could probably push three RS-458 buses with some room to spare for backlighting, USB etc. through that.
  23. As well as an option for a Bf-109/Fw-190/Yak-7/La-5/early post-war MiG's- like joystick, for those who are into that.
  24. Well, it is sold as the full HOTAS and the joystick alone, so make sure all you want to buy is listed.
  25. Likely the same quality plastic as the MCG.
