  1. Hello, I just found out that you allready can use the A/G radar to find a ship and deploy Harpoons on it! (I guess there will be a "better" SEA mode for that purpose later but it's working also within the current available mapping mode) Just find the ship with the radar: change gain of the A/G radar to max. [DATA => GN to 9] and decrase brightness of the grid etc. (using the BRT nob) to make it easier to see the ship, select the ship with the A/G radar cursor, go to store page, select the Harpoon (HPD), change mode to "R/BL" (To do so press PB 5 once on the store page; You need to repeat this for each Harpoon you want to deploy), optional: Check on the HSI page that the position of your selection fits the estimated ship position, fire the Harpoon if the ship is within weapon range... Thats it :)Thank you ED for this update!

Hello, I have one question: Is there any difference between using LNS and DT2 in TWS or circle between targets using undesignate button (Without selecting a DT2) in terms of AIM-120 deployment and precission? So in other words: If I use the undesignate button to circle between targets, will the AIM-120 also get data from the targets for "mid course correction" from the APG 73 radar if the target is not LNS or DT2? Or will the AIM-120 swap to MAD Dog mode when the assignet target is neighter LNS nor DT2 anymore?

  6. Sorry I've forgotten to thank you Kate for the transparency we always demand! So thank you, and I can understand the issue that you won't break the API to 3'd party products, but I still fear a bit that ED will never complete the module I have paid for, [or they "complete" it but it's still full of bugs and missing features] if ED continues with this speed of developement for the Hornet.
  7. Thanks! I don't know what's a LOS marker, but so we will never see the point where the TGP is looking to in the HUD as in the A-10C's HUD? Or will we see that point but we just cannot move it if the HUD is SOI?
  8. Will we see the TGP marker in the HMD and HUD? And can the TGP be slaved to the HMD, HUD, SAD, (AG/AA RADAR=> Not in tomorrows update) etc.?
  9. I hope ED will survive this *management because I've spend a lot of money on their unfinished modules and I'll hope they are willing and are able to complete them one day... Sorry I'm just frustrated but that might be the prise of an ED early accsess module. :-(
  10. Whats about a weekly developement report? The last post from wags in the Hornet Mini-Updates was more then 2 weeks ago. I just want to know what the ED developement team has been done during the last few weeks. Are they working on bug fixes? Super carrier release? F-18/C Ground Radar implementation? TGP? Or did you roll back ot the last release version and redo all the implementaion again, because of the FPS issues and other problems with the last open beta? :dunno: If so it's no problem, * is happening, but I suggest just to be transparent.
  11. Hello, I want that a helicopter will take off from ground ~3 minutes after mission start and it should be visible all the time. When I choose "Take off from ramp" for a helicopter, I have the checkbox "uncontrolled", so I can activate the unit later by a trigger. But for "Take off from ground" the checkbox is not there. In my mind the checkbox should be there... Is there any workaround? (I don't want to use heli pads). Thanks!
  12. To be clear: I was not critism the last or a a single update. I'm happy of the release of 2.5.6 and it's new "core functionality". And it's a beta so it may have bugs for sure. But I'm critism the management politic which gives me the feeling that they are more interested in making "fast profit early accsess products" (Hornet + Viper + Super Carrier) than completing a high quality product for this very special field of customers which is almost sold to the most customers which are interested in it. I fear that this will lead into furstrated long-time customers losing them, even for new early accsess products. As far as I can see, only 50% of the "ED Modern High Detailed Simulated Aircrafts" (In which I'm as a long time ED customer since flanker 1.0 are interested in) are finsihed: "Finished" (No Flaming Cliffs, no WW2) (3): A-10C L-39 Albatros Black Shark 2 "Early Access" (3): F-16C Viper Yak-52 F/A-18C Hornet And there are many more projects ED is working on: New maps, new weather system, implementing vulcan engine, api developement, which are all important topics for sure, but we cannot see the progress. So my proposal is for priorities is as follows 1A. Complete the unfinished modules which are in early accsess and implement new core functionality which is required for this moduels (e.g. AG Radar) (You cannot earn fast money with this, but you can win new customers because of completed modules etc.). So from the "long term view" this may be better than 3. 1B Implent new core functionality which is not required by 1A (Higher Performance by implementing Vulcan Engine, New weather enigine. With this, you can also win new customers because of better graphics / performance. 2. New maps and other modules ( I gues this could be done in parallel, because you need different techniques and specialists than for developing aircrafts, but it is also a very complex stuff I guess!). 3A/B. When you have people free becuase 1A or 2 is finished, you can develope new Early Access Products. This are only my personal thougts and maybe someone at ED with more knowledge has other/better ideas I cannot understand at the moment...
  13. We are patient, but I think ED should complete one thing before starting more and more new projects to make fast profit instead of satisfying long-time customers. Thats my personal point of view. The conclusion to me is that I will not buy any further early access products before the hornet is finished, because as allready told in the past by ED moderators, early access is not a good thing for everyone, so it's includes me because I'm feeling frustrated now. However, the DCS Hornet is a great product and you did a good job from the technical site, and that is why I am frustrated! I will have more! ;-) I guess it's more the "ED Internal management politic" and I'm sure not everyone from ED is approving this kind of politic. My fear is that ED will get the invoice from the users but I will have good product from ED even in the next 10 years! And I don't want that ED will go bankrupt beacuse of bad management decitions! So please don't continue on this path!

Hi I can defenetly confirm that the FPS drop is still there (Starting from Batumi in VR with oculus rift, ATI 1080TI, driver version 442.19), but I noticed that's ok for Persian Gulf map (But maybe it's only better because there are less objects). Maybe it depends on the caucasus map? Is ED still investigating this issue?
  15. Yeah! NASA has tested a Fly By Wire System called "PCA" which has worked for the Eagle, so it could work also for the hornet as well: :) https://www.nasa.gov/centers/dryden/history/pastprojects/PCA/index.html But you are right there is no evidence that such a thing ever worked for the hornet and I guess it's verry hard to land with such a system on a carrier... But who knows... :smilewink:

  20. Hello I have one question: Can a F/A-18 land with a faliure of one engine on an aircraft carrier in real? Or will the pilot eject in the case beside the carrier if there is no runway within fuel range? Because I tried it and it seems to be very difficult..., and on a runway it's much more easy. If yes, is there any video / procedure for it? Thanks!
  21. Did nobody noticed that the DCS ingame encyclopedia is now avalaible in VR? I'ts since 2.5.6 isn't it? I have nothing read in the changelog... :thumbup: Well done! However, I've noticed that for some models I became a "black" screen (E.g. for the "Centaur MK IV" ).
  22. Hello, just an Information for DCS user with NVIDIA card and VR: yesterday I have tried to update my NVIDIA driver using the "NVIDIA System Settings" using the "Search for update" function. As always, there came the message box that no new driver had been found. This mades me a bit incredulous, because I never had a message that new driver had been found since more than a year or so... Then I downloaded the drivers manually from NVIDIA and there was a new driverversion (25.21.14.1634 ==>26.21.14.4187). After the update, I had the full 45 FPS in VR under heavy conditions. Now I have only trouble with FPS rate when displaying full object shadows (trees, buildings) on the terrain, but I gues thats normal... Also in X-Plane, the FPS rate increases noticeable. I guess also the problem displaying airplane shadows is now gone (or much better) but not 100% sure... maybe it was because of the last update. I use the occolus rift with an GTX 1080TI.
  23. Hi I started military flight sims with SU-27 Flanker. This game was the reason why I installed Windows 95 :-) I remember the old dos game "EF2000". In this game there was the best dynamic campain in a flight sim I ever saw. I found that you can download the manual here: http://www.starehry.eu/download/simulation/docs/EF2000-SE-Manual.pdf and on page 257, it descripes how the dynamic campain worked.   24. Hello, I noticed that the little wheel of the analog airspeed indicator has a little offset ~ 8 to 10 knots. While the airspeed in the HUD, the "info bar" and also the pointer of the analog airspeed indicator are indicating exactly at 200 knots, the wheel shows additional 9 knots but should be 0 knots. See attached screenshoot: I mean the little wheel inside the analog airspeed indicator inside the red rectangle.
  25. Hey ED Team, thank you very much for this free A-10C update of this old lady! I'm verry impressed! It was absolutly worth to buy the A-10C (10 years ago?), and still one of the best ever DCS modules!
