  1. What a amazing video Adrian Caparzo, i'm just mind blown with the cat. it's looking great and the music is fantastic (the 80's feel with a modern style is out of this world). She is sitting in my hanger under the tarp, tied down and waiting to purr. Heatblur you have set the bar to a whole new level with the Tomcat. Thank you.
  2. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=224235&page=2 To give you some hope....and a little more hype. :joystick:
  3. External view and smile like the Cheshire Cat while having a cold beer...
  4. As long as he buys me a drink after a day of flying i'm happy.
  5. He/she is just asking for the option to run or not to run "Jester" on their server and that's fair enough. Only problem i can see is if you have six F-14 slots and the pilot role is taken, then they will have to wait for a RIO to join them to use it. The ones with friends that are joining will wait and the others that are randoms will get bored and leave if no RIO's or flood chat with "please join me as a RIO" messages. But that aside it's his/her server and if he/she wish's to have a "no jester" server function i don't see the problem. After all if you don't like it don't join it.
  6. I agree with you and i'm also looking forward to learning the "retro" style of navigation the F-14 uses. I've decided to shelf DCS for a couple of months while i wait for the F-14's release and Heatblur's videos, when they start posting them, to make sure the experience is nice and fresh. Can not wait....:joystick:
  7. Please not even in the same race as me. System: AMD Phenom IIx4 965 cpu, 12 gig of DDR3 ram, AMD Radeon HD 7970 gpu, Thrustmaster T-flight hotas with no TrackIR (my pc would melt with it i think anyway) Fear my 30fps (everything on Low, do miss 1.5 it did run "ok" on that). Still got the F-14 though, i wont be doing any MP or campaigns with her but i can fly...and it's not to bad once you get high enough.
  8. No flying for me (Got some bad habits of late and wish to start the F-14 fresh) so just checking the forums for any news each day and that's about it.
  9. Pilot since i can not play MP most of the time due to old pc, but me and Bill "Jester" will get along just fine.
  10. In the F-14 both the Pilot and the RIO could fire certain missiles themselves, depending upon the situation. If an AIM-54 Phoenix needed to be fired, it was usually the RIO who fired that missile. As far as the AIM-7 Sparrow it was at crew option. If it was in a tight basic fighter maneuvering fight, the pilot would fire the Sparrow. It it was an over the horizon long range shot, the RIO would fire the missile. Of course IR missiles, guns and bombs were relegated to the pilot only. Yeah the red button is on the RIO's side, bottom left of the cockpit. Nice photo for you showing the "launch" button on the RIO's side.
  11. As long as Chrome Cat is there i'll be happy....the kitty has to have some bling! PS: Due to my skill level in DCS, figure i would try and blind the enemy with the chrome cat....it just might work.
  12. I survive on after Bills, Rent and all that stuff on $40 (AUS) a fortnight...i put $5 a side every 2nd payment and placed it into a saving account. Yes it took me a very long time to save up $100 AUS for the F-14, but we new it was been made so had plenty of time to get the funds....now i wait for it's release. Point is even if you are struggling like myself, dreams can come true...just takes time, and a ton of patience and self control. Anyway you all have a great day/night. $70 USD for us Aussies is as of today $98.161 AUD
  13. Little hard to do without someone at the :joystick: So any discussion would be based only on personal conclusion (opinion) and data spreadsheets. A good read anyway https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1989_air_battle_near_Tobruk Thanks Destroyer, watched that before it's a good video.
  14. Looking forward to my 10 fps on the ground and 30 fps in the air. my poor 15+ year old PC struggles a lot these days...runs the F-18 fine i hope the F-14 is around the same, i all ready play with everything on low as it is.
  15. Every hobby has a cost to it and DCS is the same, if you want new and fancy modules we have to support the developers and since the modules have only increased by $10 - $20 over the last couple of years but the module complexity and content has increased to match it i have no problem at all with the cost. And as far as pc's go....fear my rig, fear it! I get around 20 fps on the ground, sometimes up to 40 in the air. I can not play MP very much as its a slide show so i fly single missions i create with small enemy unit count. But i LOVE IT, so i keep buying modules and supporting the hobby. System: AMD Phenom IIx4 965 cpu, 12 gig of DDR3 ram, AMD Radeon HD 7970 gpu, Thrustmaster T-flight hotas with no TrackIR (my pc would melt with it i think anyway)
  16. Would of paid $100 right off the bat and my machine will probably melt at it's amazing 20 fps. Paid $93 (AU) for it as it is now, got to love the Australian dollar.
  17. hehe you get use to it, as i said it is what it is, but thanks for the offer. I'm still going to have a blast flying the F-14 even though i might not be able to do anything else. Mind you i do miss the 1.5 days of MP.
  18. Lads do what i did, glue some old f-14 model wings to your house cat and chase it around the room.... Well it keeps me amused while we wait anyway. You deserve your break this year Cobra, hope it comes true for you and your family, and for all the other member in the HB team.
  19. My PC that i play DCS on is over 15 years old, but it's all i have i, can play the game fine most the time but i have to use low settings on most things so yeah looks pretty bad lol but it is what it is. Best FPS i get in game is around 20 on the ground, and upto 40 in air..game is playable just need to adjust to it and not watch videos of others playing it or you might cry when you see how it's suppose to look. MP well yeah hardly can join and when i can it's a slide show so i keep to custom made single player mission i make with very little to no scripts and or units. But i still bought the F-14 like i have every product released for DCS (Other than the new map). Fear my 20 fps...FEAR IT! System: AMD Phenom IIx4 965 cpu, 12 gig of DDR3 ram, AMD Radeon HD 7970 gpu, Thrustmaster T-flight hotas with no TrackIR (my pc would melt with it i think anyway)
  20. Congratulations to everyone on the HB team, purchased baby.... PS: Just watched the trailer and mind blown, as a fake virtual pilot myself with my now best mate "jester", we are looking forward to some flight time (I need to get out more).
  21. Can not wait to see her in clothes, she will be hot to trot and ready to rumble. Any news is good news, and one step closer to a release date.
  22. Or it could just be "Welcome back, baby" as in Welcome back f-14 since it is no longer in service and now it's back, all be it in a digital world. Who knows, not that confusing to be honest if you don't look into it to much.
  23. Not going to lie, a small tear did run down my cheek. This is not just a iconic plane for me, it's a memory of a happy time, i can not wait to fly it with my departed father watching me looking down with a big smile on his face. No he/i have never served in the military in any role, it represents a special time in my life when i was a young kid that is personal to myself and my father and to be able to complete that dream (Even a pretend one in a digital world) means a lot to me. Thank you Heatblur for creating this possibility. Kind regards from a young (old) kid with his head in the clouds.
