  3. I've never had issues, ensure you do the following: 1. Put the 'restrict jettison' special option on waypoint 0 (or whichever you want them to do it from) 2. once you've selected 'restrict jettison' option there's a tickbox just below the drop down menu where you selected the option. Make sure that box is ticked. You can verify this by looking in the special actions area underneath the speed/altitude waypoint settings. It should say 'restrict jettison (on)' when done.

  7. Hi there, We are a squadron called the 'Wardogs'. We are a relatively young squadron which number about 16 people total and we specialize in the A10C, F5E, Harrier and all the FC3 modules. We are based predominantly in Europe, including pilots from the UK, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. We also have a couple of American pilots including one real life Airline pilot so our understanding of procedure and phraseology is very good. We're very laid back and take a 'serious-fun' approach to flying, meaning we will use the correct tactics and communication including abbreviations, but make sure we have fun doing it and no one will have a go if you get a code wrong or mess up your attack. If you'd like to come fly with us we're more than happy to take on beginners and help you to learn any module you like, and own every module available between us should you want advice on purchasing a new aircraft we can advise you and help you with your DCS journey. Hit me up with a PM or reply to this if you're interested, we'd love to have you onboard! o7 included our discord link if you wanted to have a peek https://discord.gg/d9ez3sw
  8. If I can add to this I'm having the same problem. Explosions from bombs (not normally rockets) are not producing explosive visual effect. Bomb still does damage and leaves a 'crater' at impact point. Explosion effect is seen if the bomb scores a DIRECT hit on the target. Similarly I get no explosion effect from A-A (both SAM and fighter launched) missiles hitting their target. The target plane/helicopter simply disintegrates/starts smoking/wing falls off with no explosion. Can attach logs when I get home if it helps. Will also try all fixes suggested here but thought I would add that this isn't unique to the OP
  9. Hi there, We are a squadron called the 'Wardogs'. We are a relatively young squadron which number about 9 people total and we specialise in the A10C, F5E, Harrier and all the FC3 modules. We are based predominantly in Europe, including 2 German pilots, 3 British pilots (one speaks some German), and a Norwegian pilot. We also have a couple of American pilots including one real life Airline pilot so our understanding of procedure and phraseology is very good. 10. Hi Nightwolf. I used to be one of the Admins on Open Conflict and believe me, we all miss it too. No server has really achieved that blend of Safe PVE practice, and dangerous PVE/PVP combat of the conflict zone in the same way OC did. Most servers go to the extreme of one of theses, and pick either pure PVE practice (Through The Inferno and F99th come to mind), or super real PVP/E (blue flag, 104th etc). I still regularly chat to Mirknir about reviving OC and without going into detail he's pretty hesitant to come back, but not completely written the idea off. Get as many of your friends to pop a message on the original Open Conflict thread about how much you'd love it to come back and it will help, I promise you! For the time being I'd recommend for you the 51st server, or Dynamic Caucasus. Both have good fighting opportunities without being 'super' realistic a la blueflag.
  11. Thank you again to Ironmike and team for organizing this event! We had a fantastic time darting around trying to grab pilots whilst dodging R73s and gun runs from the vultures overhead! Scored 3 kills and one probable kill whilst flying the Gazelle, and witnessed the Mi-8 score a gun kill on an SU-27 who got a bit too close! We hope the wait wasn't too bad for the pilots who got shot down and we were glad to be of service to those who got rescued :) Hope your pilot's sunburn wasn't too bad Coxy, sorry it took so long to get to you! Looking forward to the next event
  12. Unfortunately Dustoff=3=6 has to withdraw from the SAR flight due to home commitments. Sorry about that! One more free helo slot now, rest of {WD} squadron still taking part

  14. There's no reason to take a personal snipe at him, he's trying to help you out. But to answer your question, no there's no way to reverse it. The EGT has been planned for the Huey for a long time and is the most realistic way of flying it. It will undoubtedly be tweaked, but it's here to stay. I'd suggest taking a bit of time to learn the new limitations and adjust your flying accordingly, otherwise you're going to spend lots of time with a cooked engine!

  16. Use any of the close range missile modes if you're within 10 miles (keys 3-6 by default, depending on which mode you want to use). Alternatively, use EO mode in BVR by going to BVR mode (2), and then clicking O. Anything you lock in that will be an IR lock but beware, it does not IFF unless you also use radar!
  17. Yes, as long as the ET has an IR lock on your target you can remove any radar lock as it doesn't affect the missile's guidance. All IR missiles are fire and forget, so as soon as they leave your plane they guide themselves to target (or a flare...)
  18. And that right there is the problem. Open Conflict is a casual/training server designed for both new players and DCS veterans. Read page 1 of this thread to hear it from Mirknir himself. Finding the balance between total freedom of airframe choice, and making a playspace for all types of players is extremely difficult and the airquake mentality makes it very difficult to maintain this balance. It is also not helped by the fact that the teams often stack in favour of red in terms of fighter count, leaving the attackers and helos (which are 90% of the time on blue) vulnerable. We are working on solutions to the issues but its not easy, and as always in life you can't please everyone, not for lack of trying!
  19. It's been an incredibly long standing issue with the A10A's mavericks, we're talking like since the LOMAC days. It's only really an issue if units are super clumped together, or in urban areas. For the first mission of the valley try using your gun/CBU-97s instead, the subsequent missions move out of the city and into the surrounding open fields and forests, at that point the mavericks are much easier to use!
  20. There's lots of rumors and hints of red aircraft in the works but for the most part it's just that - rumors, dust, and echoes. There was a lot of excitement a few months ago when RAZBAM took on a team making a MiG-19 and 23 for active development. The MiG-23 was unfortunately shut down very quickly by ED with the reasons given kept pretty close to the dev's chest, which has led to many to speculate that there's already a MiG-23 in the works, which would be a fantastic addition to DCS. That said, nothing official regarding a MiG-23 is announced by ED or any 3rd party yet. The MiG-19 continues to be developed though! Another 'red' aircraft in development are the Mirage III by RAZBAM and Mirage F1 by Aviodev. Although both French and therefore NATO by nature, both were used extensively by various 'red' Middle Eastern Air Forces such as Pakistani Air Force (MIII), Iraqi Air Force (F1), Iranian Air Force (both, F1 still in service), Libyan Air Force (F1, still in service), and Jordanian Air Force (F1) so almost count as redfor planes. If whirly-birds are more your thing then the Mi-24P is in development by Belsimtek. On top of this there are some very cool community mods in the work. For example, one group is creating a TU-22M3 Backfire, and another is developing the Chinese/Pakistani JF-17 Thunder with suggestions and hints that they either are pressing for, or already have, 3rd party status but haven't officially announced it yet. A final mod to keep an eye on is the SU-17M4 by Cubanace. He was looking to press for 3rd party status at some point, although I believe work has temporarily halted due to the fallout of the various hurricanes/storms to hit Florida over the last couple months. All in all I think we're going to get more Red planes over the next few year than a lot of people think, of course everyone wants the MiG-29, SU-27, SU-25, SU-24 in DCS level modules but I think it's very difficult for ED as a Russian company to get data on the more recent redfor planes.
  21. All fighter slots have been reduced by 1 (except MiG-15/21/29 and F-86/5) in an effort to lower the number of high end air superiority fighters in the conflict zone and encourage heavier emphasis on the light fighters filling the majority of the A-A role, and also try to give the helos and strikers a slightly easier time. This decision was made because a large number of people have raised issues with the admin team both on the forums and in-game regarding 'airquake' and the dominance of high end fighters in the Conflict Zone. It's not an ideal situation I absolutely agree, but there is not much else we can do to try and slow the 'airquake' down until the new map comes out. The Fox 3 and ET restrictions are still in place, so if people are taking time to collect amraams and ETs instead of just burning on takeoff, fire 4 missiles and die then the system is working... somewhat :smilewink: We would love to increase the number of player slots, however this version of Open Conflict is at capacity now in terms of space on the server, any more slots and the conflict zone is going to become uncomfortably crowded. But don't worry, the next version of OC will be larger and hopefully will have more slots, bandwidth and server performance allowing  I'm not sure that this is a problem unique to Open Conflict, I've had very regular crashes on ACG Cold War and Seaquark's Korea lately too. That being said we will do some testing to see if the new SAMs and reintroduction of the Carriers is the source of the crashes or not.
  22. Sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but will any of the matches be livestreamed or uploaded to youtube? I'm not taking part but would love to spectate some of these matches!
