Who will win the race between the Mi-24 and the OH-58?
Razorback replied to Razorback's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
I totally agree with you ! And that's why I really enjoy flying with the Mi-8MTV2. During several years I had my Helicopter Private Pilot Licence (HPPL) on Robinson 22 and for me, even if of course the Hip is a totally different beast, the Mi-8 has the best flight model in DCS. I'm not going to say that everything is perfect but at least a sign suggesting that the flight model of the Mi-24 will be as realistic as possible... My Mi-24 simpit is now nearly totally finished and I am waiting the release of the Hind by flying with the Mi-8MTV2. I just hope to see a release before Apr 21 -
DCS and the Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor

I am not sure that the aspect ratio is correct, that's why I post my settings screen. Any advice is more than welcome ! I tried with other aspect ration in the settings of DCS but it was no differences. The current aspect ration 3.5555555 = 32:9 Thxxxxx -
DCS and the Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor
Razorback replied to Razorback's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The zoom is not perfect. My screen is placed, as advised, at 1m distance from my head and I have to change the default view (center the Track-IR) regurarly... I have to admit that the top of the screen is a little bit to high compared to my head. On the Mi-8, the dashboard of the copilot is also a little bit distorded and larger than normal when you are the pilot and that you are looking forward (I will post a scrrenshot. -
Hi Guys, Is it someone using the Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor with DCS? I bought mine 01 month ago and I am very happy with it. I am mostly flying on the Mi-8 and I really enjoy the panoramic view, it's just a little bit tricky with the track-IR but it's still ok. It could be interesting to share our setting in DCS for this monitor. If anyone is interested, shoot !

Who will win the race between the Mi-24 and the OH-58?
Razorback replied to Razorback's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Since my first day on "Lock On", I dreamed of being able to fly with the Hind's module ! For sure since I am waiting with other modules like the the Ka-50, the Mi-8MTV2 and other aircraft but I but I think the OH-80 has some nice features and I'm convinced that I could also be seduced by its glass-cockpit, its night-time capabilities and its modern weaponry. But at the end : Hind all the way !! -

That's my boy ! -
It has been known for several months now that both Mi24 and OH-58 will not finally be released in 2020 as announced but more than likely in the first half of 2021. But the dates for the launch of both modules are still far from being clearly determined. Many people are now asking that it would be better to have a well-finished module, even if it comes later, rather than a module that has been made available but still contains a lot of problems. I believe that these people are right and I agree with them on this point. Now the question arises: which module between the Mi-24 and OH-58 will be available first? For me the question is not insignificant. It seems highly unlikely that ED will release two helicopter modules in a short period of time. Most of us would make a choice for one of the two machines rather than taking the two helicopters if they were available several months apart. So my fear is that the release of one of these two helicopters will be delayed much further in time than we are led to believe? There is undoubtedly a small competition between the studios of Belsimtek/ED and Polyschop and it is difficult to determine which module will be the first in 2021 (I did not dare to mark 2022)... One thing is certain, in its coming New Year's newsletter, ED will show us once again that it does not forget the "rotorheads", as mentioned for 2020 (Zero release), let's hope that this time it will be a reality... Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Eduardo, So, I finally identified the problem! It was an issue with another installed Mod : BFVG Harrier Field Ops (I don't think that I have the last version) I removed this mod, I installed the VPC Mod (from your last link) as well as the Suntsag's NATO soldier Mod and all is running well now. Thx a lot for your support ! Have a nice day, Chris

Ok thanks to you spending your time on helping me. I will try that and get back to you ASAP !
-
FYI the mod was not installed via OVGME but directly dropped in C:user/savedGames/DCSOpenBeta/Mods/tech/VPC,... dcs.log The mod in general is working perfectly, I have only this issue with the 3 russian VP-MEN...

No same issue, It's still not working. VPC Airfield v0.9.6 (02 Apr)

Waouwww Robin you really did a great job! I can't imagine how much time you had spend connecting all the switches and dials. ASP-17V is also very nice ! Congratulations. It's really nice to see the evolution of our respective cockpits...that's

I downloaded the last version of the Virpil Objects but some issues remain. As for exemple, the 03 VP men (1idle, check and 2idle) are not visible (in preview) but also during the mission even if there were placed on the map in the mission editor... Am I the only one to have this problem ? It's a real shame because it really adds to the atmosphere at an airport even if these 3 "objects" remain static. Thx Chris

Gents please, could you stop your spamming discussion and stay focus on the topic of this discussion.... Thx a lot and have a very nice day, Chris

Personally I prefer the P version with the punch of the twin 30mm canon, now this will always remain a discussion. Like having an upgraded version of the Ka-50 with thermal observation capability or even a conversion to the Ka-52... At the end the V or the P version is less important than see this module finally modeled and ready for release.

Thxxx, I am currently safe...until the release of the Mi-24P module...perhaps for the beginning of 2021 :smilewink:

Just edited. Enjoy !

I will post a YouTube movie very soon...:smilewink:
