1. Haha
2. Hi PeterP, thanks again for your work on this mod - it just makes looking out the windows a lot easier. I don't understand why this isn't implemented in DCS World as default (but this is of course just one of the things that would make the sim better). In some regards ED seems horrible inert (what is up with all the bugs in the KA-50 that is never fixed - is this module dead for ED?). While everything works and is readily understandable two minor things: Typo: content not contend ;-) Did not find the all-planes mission in this thread or the archive for download.
3. Have no idea if it is an effect of the blades, but I find it improbable. I would expect the smoke to be directed down with the down wash from the rotor blades. Right now the smoke erratically goes in all directions. Take a look at the last screenshot where the smoke is directed upwards. The screenshots above is taken with a second or less in between.
4. I must admit that I like that the HMS is not centered. When zooming in you are not looking at a big crosshair, when HMS is enabled.
5. Below is just from memory, so the countdown intervals and ranges are just approximate. If you avoid locking/ acquiring range on every new target and instead manually keep the target centered in the shkval (by slewing), it is possible to avoid firing the laser, and avoid the consequent 8 second countdown. I guess this must conserve one use of the laser ranger per missile fired this way. There is also a difference in how the laser ranger is used which is reflected by the resulting countdown. When a (possibly moving) target is being locked (8 second countdown) with the laser the countdown is longer than if the laser is just fired on an inert point on the ground (4 second countdown). If you don't have a range when firing a vikhr (do this by finding a target with the laser set to off, after the target is locked/found the laser should be set to standby - else the missile will lack the needed guidance) and the weapons system is set to manual the missile will be guided for about 4-5km by default.
6. Checkout the following series of screenshots (taken in a row), that exemplifies gun smoke from a steadily hovering KA-50. The smoke rapidly changes direction. Wind speed set to 0, as shown in the last screenshot. DCS version: 1.2.4.12913 Mission: Dragons Operation Umbrella version 7.9.
7. Yep in terms of bug squashing and performance patches seems to be a hit and miss for the moment. That said people with NVIDIA GPUs are reporting higher FPS than AMD/Radeon users.
8. I had IAS alarm sound yesterday when I flew the KA-50 (too fast). When is the sound off, when it is supposed to be on - or am I misunderstanding you?
9. While I'm not so sure, I do really hope it is a positive result of all the blabber going on here at the forum ;-) I must admit that such undocumented changes/features/bugs bothers me if they are unintended! If a line was added to the changelog/updates it would reflect being perceptive about their users and a rather cost effective way of getting reputation!
10. Couldn't agree more. But I love the stable framerate in my multimonitor setup. As I haven't done it for some time I don't know how prone DCS has become to crashing when tabbing in and out a lot.
11. As of 1.2.4.12913 the SA-TLF siwtch is again clickable...

13. Sorry, I assumed too much about the exit button. For me everything screws up in the multiplayer "server list". Left part of screen is not usable. That is where the exit button is located. When entering the sim cockpit (KA-50) is non-clickable. Did mangle around a bit - enabling/ disabling softTH. Choosing fullscreen/ deselecting fullscreen. Changing monitor profiles. Now I've changed everything back to normal and there are no problems clicking the server list again. I have no idea what is causing it. [edit: and no repair did nothing]
14. Have the same problem, did anyone find a fix? Or has DCS become like windows: if something is wrong the only cure is to do a complete reinstall?
15. This is kinda horrible if you like HELIOS and SoftTH, then you're not able to tab out and start Helios after. Luckily Helios delayed start (15 seconds) is possible with at bat file: @echo off ping 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 15000 > nul cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\SCSimulations\Helios" start C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Helios\Profiles\KA-50.hpf
16. The Nyogel is not less expensive, but also available from Micro Tools Europe (21€ for 2oz ~ 56g): http://www.micro-tools.de/en/byManufacturer/NYE/Lubricant-Grease-Nyogel-2oz-Tube.html [edit: sorry not the same quantity as the product ///Rage posted: 26£ for 3.53oz ~ 100g]
17. Maybe - you never know who can find some application for those machines ;-)
18. The one I have in my signature I've been using for a long time :-) [edit: at least I thought so: apparently I changed something some months ago - so now the file is updated! and named changed from copy of copy of cop... and so on - I have sensitivity at 1 and smooth at 10 and use the profile exclusively)
19. The command you're trying to execute works in the following way (checkout the wikipedia-description, also linked above): Syntax for creating directory symlink (simplified): mklink /d NAME TARGET The NAME is the path to and name of the symbolic link that is to be created. The TARGET is the path to where the symblic link will point to. mklink cannot create the symblic link because a file already exists at the NAME location. When you follow Blaze's suggestion this means that you already have a "Scripts" folder where you are trying to create the symbolic link. This is usually the folder where export scripts for TACView, TARS, HELIOS, and so on reside. What you should do: Rename your Saved Games/Scripts folder to something else (ex. Scripts-original). Create the symlink according to Blaze's suggestion. You should now see a "Scripts" symlink (has the small arrow as shortcuts do) inside your Saved Games folder. Move (cut) all the files from the Scripts-original and into the newly created Scripts symlink folder (paste).
20. It is a pity as smokes from chimneys are often the only means of determining wind direction.
21. But still - if you're serious about it, it would be easier to just create a symbolic link inside the DCS World folder, than managing the two folders separately with two jsgme-mod directories.
22. If you run into problems you can additionally do file integrity check in windows with winmd5 and compare to the md5sums posted on the download pages (one pr. file).
23. I don't know if it is clearly intentional. It is in no way consistent. If that was the case it should also be done for other non-functional switches like IFF.
