  1. Please note when running open beta you have to redo all of your settings, including joystick/ keyboard shortcuts.
  2. Btw. just noticed there is a FAQ covering Steam here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=113587
  3. Ok, I would recommend to update DCS to latest version and install the KA-50 module using the Module manager. So in steps it would be like: Exit DCS World Run DCS Update from the start menu When updated to 1.2.7.23803 start DCS World In the menu in the right side of the screen choose "Module Manager" Login with your credentials from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com When logged in the Module Manager should see your key for Black Shark 2 Choose install NB. If you do not have an account at digitalcombatsimulator.com go and create one. If you alread have an account you can investigate your Black Shark 2 license: Go to the "Personal Section" and then "Licensing". There you should be able to input your key for Black Shark 2 from Steam. You need to bind it to your account to make it work.
  4. It looks like you already have the KA-50 module installed in DCS World version 1.2.6.17746.255 (screenshot and KA-50 module file shown in second picture). It does not matter at what time you bought the key for Black Shark 2 it should work for DCS World.
  5. I'm happy that my F-18 doesn't fly that slow ;-)
  6. The key for black shark 2 from your Steam version should work for the version you can download on digitalcombatsimulator.com. But I do not quite understand where things go wrong for you? Does it ask for your key and then reject it? DCS World download: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world/ With the module manager you should be able to install the Black Shark Module. Log in with your credentials from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com. Optional Black Shark 2 download: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/dcs_black_shark_2/
  7. If you haven't already done (and preferrably have 1gb+ of VRAM) check out Ricardo's HD textures for the Black Shark, here the ADI-freq-button is fixed, black and blue version below. Black version: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94081 Blue version: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1691470#158

  10. Yeah sure there is a lot that annoys me about the KA-50, but there is even more that is beyond great! ;-) If your computer is capable enough you should upgrade to the latest version of the KA-50 module in DCS World.
  11. The export script that Capt_z links above only regards DCS and will not interfere with BMS. The script does not change any personal preferences. In general terms it provides the link that makes Helios able to get data from DCS. As far as I recall (and I might be wrong) Helios is not aware that DCS now uses Saved Games/Scripts directory for the export script and instead Helios will install it directly into the DCS World folder. But as long as the script is in the correct place (in saved games) what place Helios thinks DCS is installed doesn't matter. But the profile editors button "Setup black shark" or "Setup DCS A-10C" does not work correctly. At least if you decide to use the above script the Setup buttons should not be used. Note that you will have to do some extra editing if also using TARS, TACView or other stuff that also use a DCS export script.
  12. It worked in DCS World last time I tried as shown in the clip below, but I'm using Ricardo's and Devrim's HD Blue cockpit now: wTAAxv9ljc4 Thread for Ricardo's HD Blue cockpit: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=99751
  13. The main system for entering coordinates is the PVI-800 and it only works with lat/long in decimal format. ABRIS is able to work with lat/long in decimal or degrees (by default setup to degrees probably because it is most precise). But precision is not to be expected because it does not take target point elevation into account. Additionally the shkval is positioned some 240m above target, so to acquire target you have to slew the shkval down and be sure not to have any sideslip.
  14. But please note that it is always placed in the lower right corner. This can become troublesome if you have more than one monitor. I have not found a way to move it yet, so using PeterP's properly placed kneeboard mod.
  15. This bug seems to be fixed in 1.2.7.23803 (probably earlier?). With a hint from Sylvan I decided to try this out, so standing on RWY 04 of ANAPA: ABRIS magnetic heading ABRIS true heading Airdome chart for reference
  16. The ABRIS is able to show information from the weapon control system (WCS), which is the one the PRTz data link control panel is integrated with. The ABRIS is also able to show information from the PVI-800, for example when a target point is selected it is shown on the ABRIS moving map as a square. Further it is possible to create a data link on the coordinates of the target point currently selected on the PVI-800. The PVI-800 and the WCS are connected. This is useful in the following scenario: having a custom target point entered into the PVI-800 (received from an A-10C for example) wanting to send the coordinates easily to another member of your flight through datalink
  17. I would recommend one that has not been mentioned yet: Unchain rudder from Trim by PeterP http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=40624
  18. [edit: the below is incorrect. Between version 1.4 and 1.5 there has been no updates to d3d9.dll and dxgi.dll. Using Boulatours x64 enabling version together with the 1.5.1 SweetFX dll's works nicely] Old post:
  19. Apparently the flickering shadows does not originate from this modification!
  20. +crazy shkval problem And when working with the module anyway, please also take a look at: +nosewheel screeching even when broken off/ damaged (not visible externally) +ABRIS nautical miles conversion factor +ability to turn off trim for rudder pedals +helicopters falling off boats +sling loads (when implemented for huey)
  21. Cool, didn't even look at the ABRIS options file. Thanks :-)
  22. Cool, please elaborate or provide hints ;-) - took a look at "declare_kneeboard_device.lua" but changing the values sx_l, sz_l and so on did not do anything.
  23. ABRIS imperial range unit Hi, I recently saw a nautical miles unit bug reported by JaBoG32_Herby in the range units of the ABRIS. When converting kilometers to nautical miles it is done by a factor 1,652 instead of the normal 1,852. The bug is verified and bug report has been submitted: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=117882 ABRIS range kilometers (3,8km): ABRIS range nautical miles (2,3nm):
  24. If you do a bit of research in the lua files you can get some of the way. You still have to work some by trial and error. This is aimed at binding specific states of clickable switches in the cockpit to keys for the KA-50, but it works the same way with other modules. Happy hunting! Link: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89226#16
  25. [edit: already answered by Devrim above] As I have come to undstand it DXT1 saves the least amount of bits and as a result has the best compression ratio. DXT5 provides alpha gradient transitions, but unless it is actually used I guess it is a waste of bits. Here are some links for more information http://graphics.wikia.com/wiki/S3_Texture_Compression http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/android-texture-compression
