My thanks as well. It was very enjoyable.

Never tried it myself, but page 572-574 explains that it is possible. In TGP A-A mode, from the manual. When target is in crosshair area on the TGP, and you see the small cross over the target. Press "TMS Forward Short" to initiate Point Tracking of the target. Then you should be able to make it a SPI with TMS Forward Long, and should see the indicator on the HUD. This also enable to slew the AIM-9 indicator to the SPI using China Forward Long.

A few great articles about how stuff work on the KA-50, is here on Simhq: http://www.simhq.com/_air13/air_426a.html All articles are linked on this first introduction page. Bit technical, but very well written i think and very good read.

Help with choosing a good gaming-proof USB hub, please
Runibl replied to Yskonyn's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Been using these myself from Sandberg: http://www.sandberg.it/product/USB-Hub-AluGear-7-ports Bought at a local shop. Have served me very good for quite a while. Have both Thrustmaster MFDs plugged in there, two external harddrives and my Thrustmaster Warthog Joystick (Throttle plugged directly to pc.). Also have another 4 port hub plugged in there. And also own and use a smaller 4 HUB from them as well, can't find it on their webpage (probably out of production). -
Loving this changelog, a lot of good stuff... Looking forward to it.

Campaign: Georgian Hammer. Mission: 11-1-0. Original text under Situation: "Objective: Support advance of Kentucky and California to objective points Kentucky and California." Should be: "Objective: Support advance of Viking and Raven to objective points Kentucky and California." And also further down exactly the same under Objective. Screenshot 1 Screenshot 2

Might be a bit difficult since the real A-10C doesn't use an axis for that, but a 2-way hat switch. You could possibly set it up on the slider using bands, in the saitek programming software. I believe that's what i did when i was using the X52. Can't remember exactly how, but split the slider up into 3 sections (bands), use the forward for retracting the speedbrake, backward to extend the speedbrake and middle section as a hold function. This should effectively emulate the real thing

I have this as well. Campaign: Georgian Hammer Mission: Push 9-2-0 Objective: Interdiction logistics Been trying this for a while, and haven't been able to continue. Seems win trigger somehow doesn't work. Edit: Oddly though, just played the mission as a single mission outside the campaign, and it seemed to work and gave me 100%. Although no message. Edit 2 :) : This time after completing 9-1-0, it jumped straight to 10-1. So at last i'm past that phase.

TM:Warthog Coolie Hat issue
Runibl replied to Baggy MacDouche's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I have experienced the same thing, but luckily only twice so far, so i haven't given it much thought. Can be annoying when it happens though, and makes it very difficult to make a page the SOI. -
Really liked watching these.

The map on DCS download section: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/ a bit down called: "TC-1 Map". Free to download last i checked. For the Aeropad, i'm not sure there is a difference except for size of the screen, don't have an iPhone myself.
-
Not specifically for A-10C but think it's worth a mention is "Aeropad" for iPad. I find it excellent for viewing/Zoomin/Panning the map for DCS that's in the download section. (And other game maps for that matter). Also has a handy whiteboard to write info down on and features a night mode for dark environments. Only thing missing is the ability to write directly on the map itself. Not a free app though, can't remember the price, maybe $6.

Centering the TrackIR for me in most sims. In KA-50 I use it for hovering. Mic switch push is set to pause TrackIR. Mic switch up I have as PTT in Teamspeak.

Very good channel this, and good quality too  Just heard "Air Force 61 going tactical" Edit: News blog mentioning "USAF attacking 3 Libyan ships", "on monday night"," involved an A-10 attack aircraft".

Didn't get a good enough view for that.

Just saw on skynews, a pair of A-10 taking off Aviano Air field in Italy "as part of the operations" they say. Looked armed, but couldn't see with what.

Finally got mine delivered. Pre-purchased it, but small account problem delayed it for me. Gonna install it tomorrow.

As said above, highly recommend the countermeasures training lessons, as well as reading the manual. Page 400-410 and Page 501-502 deals with the issue. Chaff: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaff_%28radar_countermeasure%29 Helps to counter against radar guided weapons. Flare: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flare_%28countermeasure%29 Helps to counter against Heat seaking (IR) weapons. Someone else might perhaps give a more detailed explanation. (Edit: like Eddie above :) )

Just changed from XP 32bit to Win7 64bit. And wow what a difference.

Experienced this yesterday. In fact, that video is almost an exact replica of my incident. My wingman clipped my entire right wing off, he ejected and crashed, and I went down further out in the sea.

Point 1. isn't possible since IFF panel is non functional in the simulator as far as i know. I don't think the button/switches are movable either. Point 2. also not possible, since there are no emergency selections in the radio menu (would be great to have though). (For immersion, set the frequency to guard and shout it out loud/in a microphone and imagine it is received by someone).
