  1. You should not be paying customs on a repair, as the item is not really imported. This looks like the shipping documents was missing proper info. This will not help you but it is the shipper's responsibility to produce accurate shipping docs, including proper customs info. One option you have is to see if TM would ship it back to sender, and try again, or try to find a customs broker who could assist you. Pit
  2. Good!!! thanks all for all the advises and links. . I will give myself a few days to sleep on it.
  3. That would an excellent solution, cheap and easy.
  4. post deleted, double entry
  5. Stupid q: Is it easy to find the inserts that fits in connector that fit is the 2x20??? I have some basic electronic knowledge, and my slodering skill has obviously improved after I manage to pull off a 8x8 matrix... :). I'm lacking knowledge on what parts is avail for the customer in this century...
  6. Very nice but pricey, viable option though. I like the fact that you have a lot of inputs with 1 card as opposed to Leo... So every group has 15 inputs and 1 common ground right? How are the connection made?? 0.1" headers? Very, very, interesting... is anybody else interested in this??? Wow, that is very impressive. seems like tedious work but it's still a viable option though
  7. guys, i'm debating now if you should go Leo BU0836X or the X-keys. -Leo's wiring is simple, with the X version. -The non X is a PITA with the Matrix build -X-Keys is not seen as a controller, but rather as keyboard emulator -X-Keys has 128 inputs (almost twice as much as Leo, for cheaper) breakout board supplied by CAT. easy there too. I would to know issues and good points from you guys that used these products. I, myself, used Leo's BU0836, and used a Matrix, and that was painful. But I like the fact that it is seen as a controller. I figuered that with 3 (maybe 4) 0836x, I should get most of my swicthes covered, as opposed to the X-Keys.. $ is not an that big of issue here, as my time wasted on trying to make this stuff is $ too. It`s a balance between $ spent on the right product and time spent on trying to tie it all together in the sim....:helpsmilie: Pitbull
  8. I would take 1 if you have it avail PM sent

  12. that's very interesting!!!! but i'm a visual guy... i don't quite get how it was put together without pictures. too late now I guess... I got the WA to build a home pit, so right now i'm gathering ideas from here and there and wil start building somewhere in the fall. You've given lot's so far! ;o) Pit
  13. I wish someone could do a version with North America imperial measurements.....:music_whistling: :music_whistling: :music_whistling: :D
  14. Wow... those are perfect, and the cheapest i've seen so far. They would be perfect..... except that they are not NTSC.... dang.... edit: hmmmm... dummy question here: does it matter if it doesn't have NTSC when plugged into a VGA connector???
  15. The mini display ports will be used for 2 small 8" monitors, at a res of 800*600, or slightly higher. it shoulnd't be an issue Thx for your advices guys
  16. All right, I purchased a HD6950... should do the trick!
  17. Frankly, I never thought of that. I'll look for sure!
  18. So gents, what's the best way to go??? I have 2 display port on my 4870. One is for my main 21" CRT. Right now I have a 15" as a second display rendering in game MFCD's, my TM MFCD's attached to it. I want to go the 2 X 8" display for the MFCD's. For what I understand, Running USB monitors is good, need to install display link driver. FPS drop??? Running VGA require either Triple Head TOGO, is my graphic card good enough?, or with a low end PCI card just to drive the 2D for the MFCD's (somebody mentioned a big FPS hit with this setup) I'm at lost here. I want to go the cheapest way though, so i'm trying to avoid the Triple head way..... I'll fork the $ if I have to, but as a last resort. hints anybody?

Allright .... so I got pretty much everything sorted out, soldering part and all. The only thing i'm unsure of now is to separate the "switch holder" from the acrylic plate so the switch is flush with the back of the flange?? do you use an extra nut on each of the bolts and space it like that? Or is there something i'm missing??? thx!! pitbull Edit: dumb a** here figured it out.
  20. I already have a similar setup with a 15" CRT beside my main with my Cougar MFDs attached to it. The way my desk is made, I can`t move my main up or down, not enough to slip my 15" under my main. I could do a semi homepit/stands for my monitors but i'm not the sole user of this PC, and that would be good with my kids trying to play Dirt3.... That's why i'm leaning towards the 2 small monitors so I get more "immersiveness" and I can also move the MFCDs around on the desk and still keep it as a family puter... Pitbull
  21. Nice to know. I'm still at the planning process though. I'm trying to find out what road I should go..... Usb monitors or VGA with or without extra vid card...
  22. Yes that's exactly what I meant. That's too bad. But on the other hand, a cheapo PCI video card would not be that much more expensive than a splitter. And it's probably better performance/FPS wise.
  23. Would a VGA splitter hooked to a DVI-VGA adapter on my ATI 4870 be good enough? My ATI also drive my 21" CRT, which is my main display. Pit
