Hey guys, I found out about FaceTrackNoIR yesterday and gave it a try. It's a really amazing program, but I'm having trouble with it. No matter what I do, I just can't get it to the same tracking standards as FreeTrack (which I normally use). I've messed with the curves for quite a while, but to no avail. I don't even know if this is possible at the moment, but has anyone been able to get FaceTrackNoIR tracking as well as FreeTrack tracking? I've noticed that smoothing slows the tracking down by a huge amount in FTNIR, so I've kept that setting quite low, which obviously makes tracking more jerky, but with FreeTrack my smoothing has been set to 200 for all axes and I've had no problems with slow reponsiveness at all. Also, how important are framerates for FTNIR, because my webcam runs at 30 fps/Hz, but I've read that some guys use 100fps webcams. Any help would be appreciated. I love FreeTrack, but wearing the damn hat that makes you look like a tard just isn't my thing. Cheers, Alexrey

Support for more types of Head Tracking Software.
Alexrey replied to jireland607's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Signed. Very good idea man. -
Or you could spend 40$ and make ur own head tracker with Free-Track software, a webcam and 3 IR LEDs... way cheaper and very easy to make. The software's free, so you'll only be spending on the webcam and IR LEDs.

Now that DCS: A-10C has been fully released I've decided to buy it, but I'm still deciding if I should get it now through downloading, or wait until there is a boxed version available. I have two questions regarding the downloadable version: 1) I only have a 384kbps internet connection and was wondering how big DCS: A-10C is. 2) Does the downloadable version have resume support or is there a P2P download capability like a torrent? Thanks, cheers.

Hey guys, do you know of any good aviation news websites that are worth adding to my RSS list? I found aviationweek.com a few days ago which is pretty good but am looking for more. Cheers!
-
I'm sorry if this has been asked before but will we be able to buy a physical copy of DCS: A-10C from your website once it's released? My internet is seriously crappy so a downloadable version won't be an option. :(

I remember that Liveleak used to have a lot of footage from A-10 strafing runs and various LGB and Maverick drops, but now they seem to have all been removed from the website. Does anyone else know where I can find footage such as this? Cheers.

I was just wondering why air forces use different oxygen masks to each other even though they may fly the same plane or be part of the same coalition. I thought technology such as this would be shared amongst partners. So far I've noticed that the USA, UK, Russia and Japan all use their own specialised oxygen masks (and there are probably more). To me the UK seem to have the most uncomfortable looking mask as it always looks like its about to fall off, but I guess it must be pretty decent to be used with the Typhoon.

Any Eurofighter videos from Afghanistan?
Alexrey replied to Alexrey's topic in Military and Aviation
I'm sure I read somewhere that they had been deployed. Isn't this picture taken from Afghanistan? Or is it from a Red Flag? -
Does anyone know if some good videos or clips of Eurofighters fighting over Afghanistan have ever been released?
-
Damn, looks like Flightpath V Future Fighter is really rare, couldn't find anything. :/ Do you have any other suggestions by any chance? :)
-
I did a google search for "Flighpath V Eurofighter" and nothing came up. Did you maybe spell it wrong?
-
bump.

I was just wondering if anyone knows of any good Eurofighter documentaries. The plane really interests me but I've never been able to find any documentary of it at all.
-
Thanks guys.

I was just wondering what the AN/APG in AN/APG-68 or the APQ in AN/APQ-144 stood for with some radars? I know there are a few other names similar to those as well, does anyone have something like a radar acronyms list or something along those lines that I can look at? Thanks, cheers.

Getting Free-Track to work with LOFC
Alexrey replied to Alexrey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Awesome, thanks Trooper 747 it now works. :) One problem that I have now is that the view is always very zoomed in, is there a line in a file that I can edit to make the default view further away? -
Getting Free-Track to work with LOFC
Alexrey replied to Alexrey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Nope, didn't seem to work, but I noticed that I get this error message when exiting LOFC if Free-Track is also open: -
I got Free-Track working with Falcon 4 OF the other day and wanted to try it out on LOFC as well, but for reasons unknown I can't get it to work. Are there some settings that I have to change in LOFC to get FT to work? Hope you can help, cheers guys.

Anyone remember the Su-25 bombing run clip?
Alexrey replied to Alexrey's topic in Military and Aviation
The second one is what I was looking for, but thank you for both of them! -
Hey guys, I'm trying to find a clip I saw a while ago of 2 Su-25s doing a bombing run but haven't had any luck so far. It was during the Georgia-Russia was. As far as I can remember, some guy was recording it with his home video camera. There was an amazing sunset and then all of a sudden the 2 Su-25s came over low and fast, popping flares as they went. They flew over the houses and tree tops, and then a few seconds later the bombs droppped and the camera started shaking from the blast. If you know of this clip, please let me know where you found it! Thanks guys, cheers.

That F-15 (SMTD?) should have rectangular nozzles shouldn't it?

Hey guys, I've been trying to make a script in GlovePIE that will do what DCS: BS does when you press the middle mouse button and move the mouse around (it gives you 6 DOF). The reason for this is so that I can have 6 DOF in Free Falcon 5 when running the script in GlovePIE, using my middle mouse button. Does anyone have any ideas how I could make a script like this? Would really appreciate some help, thanks. EDIT 1: this is what I'm looking to do (obviously not in pseudocode): if(middle mouse button is pressed and mouse is moved left or right){ head position moves to the left or right in game } if(middle mouse button is pressed and mouse is moved forwards or backwards){ head position moves forwards or backwards in game } EDIT 2: Okay, I tried something like this in GlovePIE... but it doesn't seem to work. Although I feel like I'm on the right track: while(Pressed(Mouse.MiddleButton)){ Mouse.y = TrackIR.z Mouse.x = TrackIR.x }
