Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has any good articles on virtual reality goggle technology. I'm talking about goggles that cover your peripheral vision so that it pretty much feels as though you're IN the game. I've been interested in something like this, but it doesn't seem like anyone sells VRGs that cover your peripheral vision yet. :/

I dunno if it's only ATI cards that do this, but I used to have an NVIDIA card before I got my ATI card, and now the highest shadows setting (full shadows?) doesn't work, everything just looks really dark. :( I was wondering if anyone knows how I can fix this, or if there is a fix that has been made. Hope you can help, thanks.

Yes, but FreeTrack + a mid-range webcam will do the same thing that Track IR will (except you can't move your head around as fast?), but will cost you $100 less. As far as I know, Natural Point is the only company who make a head tracking system, so they have the monopoly and can charge a rediculous amount of money for something that isn't worth that much. Really disappointing what they are resorting to.

I don't think I'll ever buy anything from Natural Point: "Eagle Dynamics, developer of DCS: Black Shark and other popular Flight Simulation titles, implemented an alternative view control interface along side the TrackIR interface but limited it to supporting 3DOF at NaturalPoint's request" http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33510. I'm no lawyer, but isn't that anti-competative behaviour that could have some serious consequences? Plus it's WAY overpriced, just download free track and buy a webcam and you're set for under $40!

I was just wondering what books the air force and/or navy (any air force/navy) have in their syllabus for air combat maneuvers. I've seen a book called "Fighter Combat: Tactics and Maneuvering" but it seems very old (not that it isn't any good). Would books like these even be accessible to the public?

We get our internet from little dish thing that's bolted to the wall. A network cable comes out of the dish and goes into my Dad's computer, then another network cable goes from my Dad's computer into a switch, and then finally all the other computers in the house get internet by having a network cable going from our computers into the switch. So surely the internet is being plugged directly into my Dad's computer? Oh and I don't think we use a router (dunno if that info would be of much use, just thought I'd get it out there). How can I update the firmware for out internet? Maybe that could solve my problem as well. And yeah, I'm running v1.12b. I'm on 128k wireless so I've set it to 128/128 in LOFC. I used to be able to play fine when we had 96k wireless so I find it really weird that I can't now.

Yup, Its set to 128/128. Do you know of any techniques that would make my internet connection more stable? I NEVER used to have this problem until a few months ago. :(

I used to play LOFC online a lot, but nowadays I get kicked by every server within about 5 minutes of connecting. At first I thought it was my ISP that was doing it, but I was told that if it was my ISP, they wouldn't have even let me connect to the servers. So I was wondering what everyone has set the max ping in their servers to be before kicking a player. Thanks.

For some reason I can't play online anymore because every server kicks me when my ping goes above like 500. :( c'mon guys I don't have a super connection like all of you, South Africa isn't exactly the technology hotspot of the world! So do you know if I could download this mod so that I can use it when lonely playing singleplayer? Thanks.

This is what RamGen says I must do when playing a campaign: I do that but it always says no data log found when I click the debrief button in RamGen. :( How do I get it to find the data logs?

Hey guys, I'm at university and trying to play Lock-On online again, but the connection is being blocked so I can't even get into Hyperlobby. The other day I downloaded an application called Proxifier, and managed to get it to work, but only partially. I can now connect to Hyperlobby, but I can't connect to any servers. When I choose what server I want to fly in, I click on the "JOIN THIS GAME" button (in Hyperlobby) and my Lock-On starts up as usual and gets taken to the network page, but it never actually connects, the button in the bottom righthand corner just keeps on saying "STOP" which, from what I've gathered means its still trying to connect. :( Does anyone know what I can do? I really wanna be able to play online again! Hope you can help, cheers.

Hey guys, I don't have a joystick or throttle to play DCS, only a mouse and keyboard and was wondering if it's somehow possible for me to bind the left and right rudder controls on the left and right mouse buttons. And then the throttle up and throttle down controls on the 2 buttons on the side of my mouse (I'm using a Logitech MX510)? That would make flying a whole lot easier! :)

Hey guys, The reason I'm asking this question is because I'm at university and thought I'd try play some LOFC online again like I used to back home, but my university internet cap is only about 500MB so I'm really worried about bandwidth usage. So, does anyone know roughly (or precisely :)) how much bandwidth LOFC uses per hour when playing online? Thanks.

I remember there were some videos in a folder somewhere in my DCS install, but I can't remember in what folder they were stored. Were those the Producer's Notes videos? If so, do you remember which folder they are in? Thanks.

I read the weapons employment section! It didn't help. The only reason I'm not RTFM from top to bottom is because I'm at uni right now with a crap load of work and during breaks I try to play a little DCS. That's why I really don't feel like RTFM ATM because I'm kinda doing enough reading as it is.

Okay cool I shot my first rocket! But now I have another question: I've noticed that it's kinda difficult to get the C symbol to come up on the HUD and Shkval. I was hovering at about 75m off the ground and 2.0km from a target when I got the C symbol that told me I was within weapons paramaters. But the moment I fired the rocket the C symbol disappeared! I didn't know why since my chooper hand'nt moved at all. Does anyone know why this would have happened? And one more thing: how can I turn the Shkval camera off (when all you see is the light grey colour that you get before you press O)? And is there a button in the cockpit somewhere that turns on the Shkval without having to press O?

I've gone through the weapons training mission, but for some reason I still can't fire anything other than my cannon. I turn the Shkval on by pressing O, I turn on the laser range finder and I press Y to change to rockets. I then move the Shkval cursor over the target and lock it. But when I press SPACE, nothing happens. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I've been wanting to buy DCS: Black Shark but $50 is just too damn expensive. Does anyone know when there will be a price drop? I heard that the Russian version is only $25, why is this?

Okay I've got a Radeon HD 4850 1GB graphics card, Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 CPU and 4GB DDR2 800MHz RAM. This problem seems to be happening more and more often now, and sometimes crashes LOFC.

I've been trying LOFC out on my new system and I've noticed something weird that happens kinda often. I'll be playing and then all of a sudden my plane disappears and so does cockpit view. I can still fly the plane but it's pointless since I don't see anything. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how'd you fix it?
